  1. Not fixed after all. With the tractor Protection switched to Emergency, there`s no air pressure to either trailer fitting.TP switched to normal, brake lights come on w/air brake switch in either trailer line when air pressure builds in the tank.Does this indicate a bad brake valve under the pedal?
  2. Would a single axle B61 with antique plates and no trailer be required to pull into a weigh station?
  3. Swishy,it`s a single axle....didn`t realize you could run them that low .Thanks.
  4. What would be a good tire pressure for a short wheelbase B61,bobtail only,275R/22.5 tubeless tires? Thanks.
  5. We have brake lights! Putting the switch in the left trailer line did the trick. Many thanks to all who responded.
  6. So I can put the switch in one of the trailer air line fittings that are presently plugged?
  7. I got a new brake light switch, connected one post to +batt, the other post to the brake light post on the ten post terminal behind the cab.Now the brake lights come on when air pressure builds, without touching the brake pedal. So there`s air pressure closing the switch when there shouldn`t be any pressure there.I had to disconnect a wire from the switch after shutting the engine off,the lights will stay on as long as there`s pressure in the air tank.I don`t think the new switch is bad, when I installed it the light only came on when I shorted the terminals, with no air pressure in the lines.Any help is appreciated, thanks. The truck is neg ground.
  8. So the plunger just threads into the pump,no other parts?
  9. Thanks for that,Mechohaulic.I only have 1 fuel filter, don`t know if the other one got ditched along the way.
  10. Is there another way to prime the pump when the plunger isn`t there?
  11. I`ll try again. My ENDT673 engine doesn`t have a priming plunger on the fuel(lift) pump, just a knurled cap.I haven`t seen this in other pics of this motor. Can anyone tell me if this was the norm in 1961? Thanks.
  12. The fuel pump on my 1961 B61 doesn`t have a priming plunger on the fuel pump, just a knurled cap.I think it`s the original engine. The number on the timing cover is ENDT673-74-10.Is this the right setup? Thanks.
  13. I want to install half moon fenders on my single axle B model. What would be a minimum distance to allow for suspension travel.Bobtail use only.Thanks.
  14. I`ll try mineral spirits.
  15. I got a bit of water and several ounces of tan goop from my B air tank.I know that shouldn`t be there, but I suspect it had been years since it was last drained.Any good method of cleaning?I was thinking of repeated acetone pours of maybe 8 oz,until it comes out clean.Thanks.
  16. Can you provide any STEMCO contact info? Thanks.
  17. That`s a brake light switch.
  18. I need a good used or NOS switch. The local Mack dealer laughed when my truck was a 1961 model.Thanks.
  19. I`m trying to find full radius (half circle) fenders that will be a good fit for these low profile tires which are 36" dia. Hogebuilt(51" long),and Merritt(48" long) are way too outsized for these tires.I guess they`re not as common as the 11/70R-24.5 tires but I`d think there must be some demand for smaller fenders.
  20. So where would you run a wire for the 12v source?
  21. There`s a 10 post terminal strip at the bottom of the cab, driver`s side, none of the posts are hot. This doesn`t seem right,as the trailer umbilical was connected there.
  22. There`s no voltage to that wire.So that switch is missing a tab for a second wire? I don`t see any loose wire that would have gone to the switch.Could you recommend a source for a new switch? Thanks to all who replied.
  23. Ok,I have front turn sigs and flashers. The column switch doesn’t light w/ the signals. The brake light switch has only one wire, though it looks like there is the remains of another post.I’ll try to post a pic.
