  1. Adapter kits can be found to adapt the old pipe thread plug holes to new smaller plug designs but those never looked right to me. If you can find some two piece plugs that aren't in that bad of shape those are what I'd go for. Ebay's got some just don't pay exorbitant prices for em.
  2. It didn't work for me. It wants me to have a dealer account. Is there anyway you can save the bulletin?
  3. This guy here? Whats the story on how your truck got into this video? Who approached you and did you get anything out of it? Apparently the music video of this went missing for awhile and camera quality's not all that great.
  4. I hope you don't mind but here is a video so everyone can view it: If you want me to remove it for any reason let me know
  5. If the oil didn't seem milky then that probably means it just hasn't been stirred up yet. Oil floats on top of coolant so you won't be able to tell by just checking the oil. Could be head gasket, cracked head, or a busted liner but I think it's best if you pressure or vacuum test the system.
  6. There's a pretty cool Vacuum fill coolant tool that you can pick up on amazon that does the job the best. You can keep the whole system under vacuum overnight to see if there are any major leaks like head gasket or air compressor also. When you drained the coolant out the second time was it sludgy, black, or seem like combustion gasses had been getting into it? You can send in a sample of your coolant in and have it tested to see if you have to pull the heads.
  7. Not to derail here but if you have or have access to a newer iPhone they have a scan document function that makes real good digital copies of books and manuals. I've done a few with my phone that turned out great. Looks like a lifesaver of a book to have, hope you figure something out. Thanks
  8. A RedDot conversion would be cool to see on an Mh. Probably a whole lot better too.
  9. Gauges do sound pretty hard if you want to do them right that is. I'd image the the speedometer and tach are both electric if there not they'd most likely be in the wrong ratio. Electric tach's aren't that hard to install and are cheep. An app download on your phone and a phone mount will take care of most of the speedometer problems. When you're young and dumb enough you can swap anything you want to. Keep up the good work and don't let us get you down.
  10. That looks like a DT466 to me but what do I know. Never heard of an Allison Diesel either but my grandpa worked as a supply yard in Japan during Korea and him and his team somehow lost one of those giant Allison engines. Never found out what happened to it and his superior was pissed. Too big to steal so they think it's at the bottom of the ocean.
  11. Small schools usually aren't any better and in my case it was much worse than a bigger schools. 3 overpaid a*s wad superintendent-principles ruined not just the school but countless young lives from ever going to a big collage, including me and my 2 brothers. I go to conferences and hear about the classes and opportunities the kids in bigger schools get and it's just not worth it anymore to send kids through a rural program. I don't care what they make e'm learn just let them choose the path they want to take in high-school instead of wasting there time on government required BS classes. Our Education system is one big joke. Boils my blood just talking about it. And get this, the solution is not to throw more money at it! Can you believe it!? it all goes into the administrators pockets anyways.
  12. Both of our John Deere tractors had their clutches welded solid by previous owners. Makes for a loud time if you're outside the cab. Anyone ever adapt an air engaged fan clutch like a Horton onto a Mack? I've driven a few vehicles with air engaged fan clutches and there awesome. Flip e'm on whenever you're going down a hill to save your brakes.
  13. That is a vicious fluid fan drive or fan clutch. Whenever you start cold the fan runs for a couple of seconds before the fluid can be pumped back to the reservoir and the fan disengages. There's really no way to control when the kick on and you kinda just have to live with it. All Macks from the 80s and 90s that Ive seen use this type of clutch. Been meaning to ask has anyone ever replaced the vicious clutch for an air operated one? To me that would be a nice upgrade.
  14. How do you get coal these days? Is it delivered by truck like a propane service would be? does your house have a working coal chute? Some of the really old buildings around here still have coal chutes but not in use anymore. Coal is very hard to come by in Kansas.
  15. Whoah what kinda pelt is that! -10 at night is the coldest it got here but the wind around here is the worst part. Large stock tank is about froze all the way down and the small mineral tub tanks I use in the winter froze completely solid with a couple of the real cold nights. My two cows stayed under there lean-to for the majority of the cold snap. My chickens comb's got a bit of frostbite
  16. As a last result you may have to take it out and measure inlet diameter, turbine diameter, and exhaust housing diameter to find a similar turbo. It could have been ordered from a catalog that's long gone by now. Do you want to go back to a stock turbo or do you want to find whatever turbo is on there?
  17. Do you use that in Mack rears too?
  18. Glad this form exists to document Mh's. Seems they've about gone extinct, either got loaded on a boat and shipped out or there owners don't take them out anymore. Here is/was ours still working at my uncles.
  19. Now that its a warm 16 degree's here I guess it's time to go do something. Been reading about the old York 210 compressors and might go look for one in our junk piles.
  20. Hopefully somewhere good. I've heard talks about this one in my local area being sent to a pediatricians clinic's playground and never running again... Maybe Im a bit of a scrooge here but please don't do that!
  21. Neighbor has one in his Versatile but never pulls anything but a grain cart. Might be because of an odd hydrostatic trans that they did for a few years too. Miss our old 855 Versatile with the 855 cummins in it. Wouldn't have to rev it out like the John Deere that replaced it
  22. Man whatever happened to this global warming thing? I thought I would be growing palm tree's by now It won't get above freezing here until Sunday.
  23. its -3 and windy this morning. Broke the ice for the cow and yep I'm done for the day
  24. Even has a steering knob so you could free up an extra hand...
  25. Thats such a cool lookin turbocharger! I miss when they used to be mechanical marvels that people took pride on having. Now they're tucked away and a pain. More of an emissions component than anything. And best yet if you changed your oil and didn't abuse them they lasted the life of the engine. Foreign concept I know
