  1. I don't know how Wal-Mart beats all the required taxes and fees for their trucks but I'm sure she has concrete proof., but I do agree that if one million truckers were put out of work by rail roads we could retrain them to be in the construction industry rebuilding roads.
  2. Chick fil-A, Hobby Lobby and Wal-Mart are the three most hated businesses by Liberals, the first two because they have Christian Values. Wal-Mart is just an easy target for being anti union.
  3. The phone call the doctor was on was with United Airlines explaining his need to keep his seat. Still should have just manned up and take what he had coming for defying the polices orders. Lucky he has not been charged yet with assaulting a police officer, disorderly conduct, mayhem and an act of terrorism for re boarding after he was removed. Think being a refugee from the fall of Saigon and almost 70 years old he would have more complacent with obeying orders.
  4. Maybe the Gate Attendant shouldn't have told the Chicago Aviation officers to "remove the passenger by doing what ever you need to do to avoid anymore delays" Probably would have been cleaner for all involved to tazer and cuff him, The officers lawyer and union rep said on the Morning Joe that Mr Dao appeared to the officer to be a threat to him and all on board.
  5. Call it as it is. I don't feel "guilty" saying "Boy is it hot" , saying "God Bless" when some one sneezes, saying "the shape of that part looks a bit queer to me", or simply wishing some one a Happy Easter or a Merry Christmas. In my world "politically correct" is voting as you wish.Want alphabet things? read a book.
  6. Well going back on a promise on the currency manipulation to try to get the only country that has some sway over North Korea is certainly stupid. I suppose his promise is more important than a supposed nuclear threat. (John Kerry said they won't have an ICBM for 10 to 15 years). Anyway we can always buy off Kim Jong-un like other U.S. Presidents did to his father.
  7. Actually the head of Chicago Airport Police Union Rep said the officer who dragged the doctor off was a plain clothes agent.. IMO just one more lie /excuse to save their butts. Seems to be many empty seats in flight out of China. after the CGTN (Chinese Global Television News) mentioned the doctor was Chinese. Pretty interesting op-ed on it this morning on the U.S. news segment..
  8. Probably be cost effective to take other look at the Davis- Bacon Act of 1931. Follow it to the letter instead of a union / political pact there would be less money wasted.Course the Unions / political kick backs won't let that happen.
  9. They enrolled in a Christian University and oppose the Christian values of a company? Heuristics come to mind,, but than so does the person who sued an other Christian university because they were offended by the Crucifixes and religious statuary.
  10. LGT ?? Little Green Target ???
  11. A gay student group at Duquesne University fears that a proposed Chick-fil-A outpost could jeopardize the school’s safe spaces. Their feathers were ruffled by news that youngsters would soon be nibbling on " plump juicy chicken breasts tucked between hot, buttered buns " mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm! https://townhall.com/columnists/toddstarnes/2017/04/11/students-fear-chickfila-might-spark-microaggressions-n2312013?utm_source=thdaily&utm_medium=email&utm_campaign=nl&newsletterad= . From the Duke , Duquesne Universities Student Newspaper. Student group leaders concerned about Duquesne Chick-fil-A Brandon Addeo|News Editor The leaders of the DU Lambda Gay Straight Alliance expressed concerns about the addition of a Chick-fil-A on DU’s campus. Zachary Landau | Asst. A&E Editor At the March 26 Student Government Association meeting, Senator at Large Niko Martini proposed that the SGA pass a resolution asking the university to reconsider the inclusion of Chick-fil-A as a dining option for students. Martini is on the Lambda executive board. He clarified that he made the proposal on his own behalf and not Lambda’s. “Chick-fil-A has a questionable history on civil rights and human rights,” he said in a statement to The Duke. “I think it’s imperative the university chooses to do business with organizations that coincide with the [university’s] mission and expectations they give students regarding diversity and inclusion.” The SGA Senate did not pass any resolution but agreed to consider an alternate resolution to vett the Chick-fil-A Express, which senators tabled for the April 9 SGA meeting to allow time to research the concerns. “Lambda’s leadership met recently with Auxiliary Services to share their concerns regarding Chick-Fil-A’s corporate position on LGTBQIA+ issues,” said Alia Pustorino-Clevenger, director for student life assessment and co-curricular community engagement, and also Lambda’s faculty advisor. “They will continue to have meetings in the upcoming weeks with Auxiliary Services and Parkhurst to address this matter further.” Lambda President Rachel Coury personally said she worries the safety provided by Gay-Straight Alliance might be in jeopardy. “I’ve tried very hard within the last semester and a half to promote this safe environment for the LGBTQ+ community,” Coury said. “So I fear that with the Chick-fil-A being in Options that maybe people will feel that safe place is at risk.” Duquesne announced March 20 the addition of the Chick-fil-A Express to the Options Food Court beginning in the upcoming fall semester. The decision to add a Chick-fil-A was a response to student feedback, according to Duquesne spokeswoman Bridget Fare. “The decision was announced as soon as the due diligence activities, including working with the City on permitting for the renovations, were undertaken and approved,” Fare said. Chick-fil-A has faced controversy in the past for financially backing organizations that are accused of supporting anti-LGBT rhetoric. Coury expressed concerns over the company’s history of supporting organizations that “are specifically anti-gay organizations.” Fare said that the fast food company “has assured [Duquesne] that they do not discriminate.” She also said that “Chick-Fil-A informed the University that they ceased giving to Focus on the Family and Exodus International several years ago and have eliminated corporate donations and established a foundation with focuses on youth and education.” In a statement provided by Chick-fil-A, Manager of External Communications Amanda Hannah said that the Chick-fil-A Foundation, the company’s philanthropic arm, focuses on youth and education. “Only organizations directly aligned with that mission are funded,” Hannah said. “Programs with social or political agendas are not included in that giving.” Reporting from the left-leaning website ThinkProgress revealed that the Chick-fil-A Foundation donated $1,017,610 to the Fellowship of Christian Athletes in 2014. The FCA has a “Sexual Purity Statement” for its volunteers and staff. It includes stipulations such as, “The Bible is clear in teaching on sexual sin including sex outside of marriage and homosexual acts. Neither heterosexual sex outside of marriage nor any homosexual act constitute an alternative lifestyle acceptable to God.” Coury is aware of Chick-fil-A’s efforts for inclusivity. However, she would like Duquesne to acknowledge there is still some tension. “It would be a really big deal for Lambda and the whole LGBTQ community on campus if someone could make a statement to eliminate the fear of being marginalized by having this business on campus,” Coury said. The response from the Duquesne community to the addition of the Chick-fil-A has been mostly positive, according to Fare. Students seem to appreciate having extra choices for on-campus dining but are dubious about Chick-fil-A’s dealings. Madison Seffrin, a senior computer science student, said that she thinks the new addition is “a good thing.” “I think it gives us another option, and it’s more food choices that make us comparable to other colleges that have a lot more chain restaurants on their campus, which is something I think we lack,” Seffrin said. When asked about Chick-fil-A’s association with non-profits that expose homophobic rhetoric, Seffrin said that she does not “necessarily” agree with “some of those aspects,” but does think they are “a relatively stand-up company.” She said she is bound to have some differences of opinion with the company’s policies. “It’s almost inevitable that a place that closes its doors on a Sunday will also not support some of the things that I support,” Seffrin said. Similar sentiments were expressed by Alex Slater, a freshman economics student. “I enjoy Chick-fil-A food and I eat there [in my hometown],” Slater said. Slater had heard of the controversy surrounding the chain and disapproves of their connections to anti-LGBT groups. “I don’t believe that should be something they should be involved in,” he said. “But that is something that warrants discussion and if it’s something that people are not comfortable with, that should be discussed as well.” Chick-fil-A released a statement July 2012 that “going forward” they would “leave the policy debate over same-sex marriage to the government and political arena.” Tax filings for 2012 also showed that the company’s other charitable arm, the WinShape Foundation, has ceased funding to all but one of the groups — the aforementioned FCA — accused of anti-LGBT practices. SGA President Olivia Erickson expressed her and SGA’s intention to look into Martini’s and Coury’s apprehensions. “We at SGA take this concern [about the installation of a Chick-fil-A on campus] very seriously,” Erickson said. “We are working on gathering students’ opinions and getting all the facts we can so we can make the best decision.” “We serve as the voice of the students,” Erickson said. “SGA has a positive relationship with administration in order to function as liaisons for the students.”
  12. Type A was pre Dexron.. I've never seen plain Type A any more. Go to Napa and look for "Type FA" fluid. It comes in a black bottle with a black cap. . Type F and A , are so similar they are basically the same, just like Dexron/Mercon. Hence the "Type FA."
  13. My B and R both use the same oil as in the crankcase. Remember ATF has additives to induce friction so the clutch packs and bands work on an automatic Kind of a no no one a P.S. system. You really feel the need to be specific, run Power Steering oil in it
  14. Look at the fine print on the ticket. It's never officially your seat and the carrier have reserved the right to deny you its use for whatever reason they choose. Granted not by violence of the "enforcers" from the Chicago Department of Aviation Police. United will settle this out of court no matter what. The amount will only depend upon the quality of representation the beaten man finds. In a high profile case like this, he will probably have top shelf lawyers begging for the case nationwide. The Chicago Aviation Police, I feel will get their ass nailed to the door and rightly so.. but it is Chicago and the specter of Chitowns traditional handed tactic's looms high. This idiotic gaff is breathtaking in scope and is going to cost them a fortune. Any manager on site at the time is going to wish he or she had just started ratcheting up the offer until someone bit. I seriously doubt it would have made it to $2,500. Now, it will cost them a fortune.
  15. It's a 1960.
  16. Quoted from Cody Hull Published on May 22, 2016 On Friday, February 19, 2016 David Hull got his father Homer's fully restored first brand new logging truck, a 1941 Mack FP logging truck out of dry storage in the truck barn. Our family affectionately call this old truck "Christine" David Hull and Wally Kundert got the truck out of the storage shop to begin performing some routine maintenance work and washing & cleaning on the truck. The trailer needed to be unloaded. However, it was a very stormy day with records amount of rain and David did not want to drive the truck to near by Hull Oakes Lumber Company to use their commercial trailer loader. The truck would get wet, muddy and very dirty. David and Wally made the decision to simply unload "Christine's" trailer right in the car port using the Tree Farm's Clark 667 wheel skidder with swing boom/grapple. This worked very handy and kept everything very clean and mostly dry. Homer Hull, purchased this truck brand new in March of 1941 from Mack Sales and Service in Portland, Oregon. Homer had the truck outfitted with brand new Pointer-Willamette bunk equipment and trailer. He was going to by a gypo-log truck hauler, hauling logs to the Hull Oakes Lumber Co. Sawmill in Dawson, Oregon. This, however, did not last long for him. He had the truck for about ten months when he was drafted into the U.S. Army. He was gone for forty-four months, serving in the South Pacific theater of World War II. While he was gone his brother-in-law, Emmitt Nye, worked the truck and made the payments for him. The truck’s original engine was a gas Mack flat head “6”. The truck’s changes began with several things. First the Mack engine was replaced with a Ford flat head V-8 and the chain drive rear-end was taken out and replaced with a Tempkin shaft driven rear-end. These changes were performed during the time period of 1946-47. David Hull states "that It was always a wish of mine to restore this truck. To the best of my knowledge, the original items on this truck are the bunk equipment, cab guard, frame and front axle. Starting in 1988 I began to restore Christine. I used parts from three different donor trucks to complete the restoration and I repowered it with a Ford inline 300 six cylinder gas engine. I also put a four speed spicier main transmission in it and kept the three speed brownie auxiliary." The Clark skidder in this video was purchased brand new in 1980 By Homer Hull. It was Clark's center piece of the 1980 Logging Show at the Lane County fairgrounds in Eugene, Oregon. The machine features a 453T Detroit engine, ESCO swing grapple, with winch. In 1989 the skidder was totally gone through, rebuilt & refurbished. In 2005 the tree farm purchased a D4 Caterpillar hydrive with swing grapple. Thus, the skidder was semi retired and the cat is now our primary log skidder. The old Clark skidder is used on a limited basis mostly in the summers and in emergency cases to unload logging trailers on historic logging trucks. Cody Hull shot this entire video using a GO PRO Hero 4 Silver Edition and this digital short video was created using YouTube Video Editor. https://youtu.be/e8rpJKnEynM
  17. It could be general sludge or Algae, microbe or fungus in the fuel.I run an anti algae / bacterial / fungicide additive in the fuel from Bell Performance in my trucks that lay idle for extended periods. Clean the tanks and lines you should be good to go

    Syria

Mean while on the liberal conspiracy theory fringe side. . . On Friday’s broadcast of MSNBC’s “The Last Word,” anchor Lawrence O’Donnell stated that “if Vladimir Putin masterminded the last week in Syria, he has gotten everything he could have asked for.” O’Donnell then floated a theory that Putin told Syria’s Bashar al-Assad to launch a small chemical attack that was big enough to attract media attention and prompt President Trump into launching a missile strike, which would then change the subject from Russian influence. O’Donnell said, “[W]ouldn’t it be nice if it was just completely, totally, absolutely impossible to suspect that Vladimir Putin orchestrated what happened in Syria this week so that his friend in the White House could have a big night, with missiles, and all of the praise he’s picked up over the last 24 hours? Wouldn’t it be so nice if you couldn’t even in your wildest dreams imagine a scenario like that?” He added, “I don’t know what it is. Is it a 2% chance? Is it a 50% chance? Is — I don’t know. But what — I don’t think it’s a 0% chance, and it used to be, with every other president prior to Donald Trump.” O’Donnell further stated, “Well, when Bill Clinton fired missiles during his presidency, Republicans questioned that. They questioned whether that was to distract attention from the Monica Lewinsky scandal, and that was a legitimate question.” O’Donnell later added, “It’s perfect, just perfect. I wish it wasn’t. If Vladimir Putin, if, if, if Vladimir Putin masterminded the last week in Syria, he has gotten everything he could have asked for. Vladimir Putin was essentially the man in charge of making sure that Syria got rid of all of its chemical weapons under a deal with the Obama administration. And so it makes perfect sense to question whether President Bashar al-Assad would have checked with his most important patron, Vladimir Putin, before using chemical weapons that Vladimir Putin was supposed to have helped get rid of. It would be terribly embarrassing to Vladimir Putin if President Assad had exposed Vladimir Putin as having completely failed to get rid of those chemical weapons. You wouldn’t want to be Bashar al-Assad in a conversation with Vladimir Putin after that, unless you had a conversation with him before that. Unless Vladimir Putin said, ‘I have an idea. go ahead, do a small chemical attack, nothing like the big ones you’ve done in the past, just big enough to attract media attention. So that my friend in the White House will see it on TV. And then, Donald Trump can fire some missiles at Syria, that’ll do no real damage, and then the American news media will change the subject from Russian influence in the Trump campaign and the Trump transition and the Trump White House.’ It’s perfect.
