Paralell series switch nightmare
41chevy replied to beatngu's topic in Electrical, Electronics and Lighting
Using a 12 volt or 24 volt starter they will both perform identically, but the 12V motor would draw twice as much current from its 12V supply compared to the 24V motor on a 24V supply. Same as a 6 volt starter has a higher draw than a 12 volt unit. -
Marino's Italian Ices, Muscle Cars Speed Shops and Bayside Chrysler Plymouth sponsored my funnycar in 1974. Trump and Immigration (Illegal Immigrants in the US)
41chevy replied to kscarbel2's topic in Odds and Ends
Since many states will issue Driver licenses to illegals, what more proof is needed to apply? A side from proof of income? -

A Special Beast - The 1959 Cadillac Broadmoor Skyview
41chevy replied to kscarbel2's topic in Odds and Ends
There was a 1956 Skyview sold in 2015 . It was restored after the sale and won at Pebble Beach. -
On route 77 Fontana mid way between Akron and Canton. It south(?) of 303 and 8 . The dyno is called Smokey's Dyno Center and is one of the only ones able to take up to 3000 h.p. My MSD unit is a year 2000 manufacture from before the counterfeit China knock offs. U.S, made with American and Japanese made components. I found a New Old Stock one.. So far no issues at all. Biggest issue I had was with the boost I'm running blowing the Ceramic and the electrode out of on Autolite Iridium spark plug last week testing it in my driveway. I am expecting after 3 years of teething problems all the stars are aligned. Even bought a Go Pro for it. Methanol, nitrous and 40+ pounds of boost. . . what can go wrong?

excess steering play
41chevy replied to 609albert's topic in Antique and Classic Mack Trucks General Discussion
There is an adjustment at the box for the end play on the sector shaft, It's a jam nut and a screw. There is a Factory procedure and someone may have the specs. I did mine a 1/4 turn at a time on the road to drive it and set the play close to where I liked it with no binding To tight will eat the box. But,are Drag Link ends are okay? Wheel bearings adjusted correctly? Those will add to the play too. -

You don't "know us" either, yet you pigeon hole, name call and attack most all on here for not agreeing with you, so climb down from your pulpit.

Federal Employee Health Benefits Plan pays a large share of the cost of coverage. On average, the government pays 72 percent of the premiums for its workers, up to a maximum of 75 percent depending on the policy chosen. For example, the popular Blue Cross and Blue Shield family plan carries a total premium of $1,327.80 per month, of which the beneficiary pays $430.04. Washington, D.C.-based employees who prefer an HMO option might choose the Kaiser family plan. It carries a total premium of $1125.15 per month, of which the employee pays only $206.29. In addition, members of Congress also qualify for some medical benefits that ordinary federal workers do not. They (but not their families) are eligible to receive limited medical services from the Office of Attending Physician of the U.S. Capitol,, after payment of an annual fee of $641.00. But services don’t include surgery, dental care or eyeglasses, and any prescriptions must be filled at the member’s expense. House and Senate members (but not their families) also are eligible to receive care at military hospitals. For outpatient care, there is no charge at the Washington, D.C., area hospitals (Walter Reed Army Medical Center and National Naval Medical Center). Inpatient care is billed at rates set by the Department of Defense. FEHBP offers over 300 different private health care plans, including five government-wide, fee-for-service plans and regional health maintenance organization (HMO) plans, plus high-deductible, tax-advantaged plans. All plans cover hospital, surgical and physician services, and mental health services, prescription drugs and “catastrophic” coverage against very large medical expenses and many fees are tax deductible. So see they obviously have the same plans, and same fees we have.

We were there in the mid 90's after a family re union in Cheshire, We went to Mystic to see the Morgan and to Groton to the Sub Force Museum to see the Nautilus. The trolley museum is more than trolleys and trains, well worth the trip. Paid for entry at the ticket station and than took a Trolley to the museum. Expect to spend at least a full day there.

interesting wimons in the car. See if you can keep the car and if the insurance company would deduct the salvage monies from the settlement. Use the money left to get a junk yard hood an bumper put on it.

And SOP for ALL liberals. . . Let the name calling and racial accusations begin! " Sorry, but those of you bigots that ignore history don't get to rewrite it" Seems you are the bigoted one,who since there was not mention of race, only the ACA does not work well I never knew that Pelosi and Harry Reid whom pushed the ACA through were Republicans, interesting fact in the alternate universe. " what you call "Obamacare", the Affordable Care Act, was created by the republicans"

I don't understand her bargaining reference do you? With most states having a single provider covering them or like Tennessee having sections with no provider. Mandated by law you have to buy in, no choice on coverage,so where is the free market that she mentioned? Or is there only a free market for God's Obama's Chosen. . . the Government workers and the Unions. Now I do get my health care for 100% "free" at Murder inc / V.A. but that "free" came at a pretty steep cost to me IMO.
