  1. For what it is worth. Here is the Connecticut Trolley Museums 1930(?) AP and their 1935 B series Type 55 Unit. Seems to have a lot of similarities with your unit. Paul
  2. The only bargaining chip involved was the unions could not legally strike for more money, so they staged slow downs. FDR and the War Production Board followed IBT President Daniel J Tobin the official White House liaison to organized labor and gave them Health Care because of the government wage freeze. Had nothing to do with free market when that concession was made.because the slow downs affect the war effort.
  3. Going back to World War II, when unions successfully sold the idea that employers should pay for health insurance to circumvent wage-price controls in effect during the war, which limited their ability to bargain for higher wages, most Americans started receiving insurance through their employers. They also got this benefit tax-free. This third-party payment disrupted the feedback loop that is necessary for markets to operate efficiently. We haven't had a free market system in health care ever since -- and Obamacare made it much worse. Now it has mushroomed with other entities in the feed chain with their hands in the consumers pockets.. Paul
  4. You realize that this is going to lead to a re paint. . .

Don't think for a minute that the Mexican Government would put up with the "gringo" crap at all.
  11. From my I.H. contact. The difference seem to be more color combinations available on the Sundance I. Sundance I Available on all Loadstar models, metal and fiberglass hood. “The paint scheme for the cab and hood was essentially white with a contrasting color used for most of the cab and the top of the hood. The contrasting colors offered were Fire Orange, Solar Yellow, Tamarak Bronze or Terra Cotta, and the frame and wheels were painted to match the darker color. The trim package included a bright windshield molding, west coast mirrors, a rubber running board step, and a chromed bumper, a premium seat, vinyl-covered dash, and engine-turned Instrument panel, with matching glove box door . Sundance II Available on all Loadstar models, metal and fiberglass hood. “It involved a white cab roof and hood, medium metallic brown lower panels, an orange stripe on the upper body, and orange paint on the chassis, running board and wheel spokes. The wheel rims where gray, and the grille and bumper were painted silver.” Sundance option was available to at least 1978 I'm told. Paul
  12. Look close at the manifold gaskets for a boost leak, that will cause the squeal, lean condition will also cause temps to go high.
  13. Is that a weld bead on the case above the gear cluster? Certainly looks like one. Paul
  14. I talked to my old mechanic friend at Syosset Trucks a 75 plus year old I.H. dealer. He only saw one and it was a 1975 Sundance I, he said the 1976's were Sundance II's. Told me that "you cheap S.O.B. farmers wouldn't spring for the extra couple of bucks to have the prettiest truck at the market" Paul
  15. Abig yellow Cat is impressive BUT picture the normal uniformed oohing and aahing over a Patriot painted Red, White and Blue MACK engine. Generate more ego points than a kitty cat.
  16. Where we farmed on Eastern Long Island it was International Harvester, REO and GMC country never ever saw or heard of one.
  17. It is time the archaic laws and procedures are brought into the 21 century both with technology and consideration of basic threats. Basically we are still operating on the immediate post WWII rules.
  18. Right at the top. Many countries have data files on most of their citizens which for example places like Norway, Briton it would be easier to do a basic back ground check, places like Syria, Libya, Saudi Arabia and many Central and South American countries should have a closer more detailed check.
  19. I saw on of those last fall up in Maine near my sisters horse farm. Didn't know they are rare, just thought it had a nice stripe job. Good luck with yours. Paul
  20. I've heard that before about massive dealings in those countries, but never been able to see real proof. You have any links?
  21. Personally I feel any person coming here from any country should be "vetted", including all our "so called" allies.
  22. I'd take the money and time to do the Cat and invest in some dress up goodies and paint detailing on the 300+. Paul
  23. Mineola County Court system , Mineola LI. N.Y.
  24. IMO the medals I got in service are except the CIB and Purple Hearts minor. The CIB is my most important award and those who got them EARNED THEM the hard way same as the Purple Hearts. My opinion on what people consider a war hero is much different the most of you. The Medal of Honor recipients are hero's, ex POW's Like McCain and the wounded are If you want to see true hero's go the any military cemetery, they are the true hero's. Right or wrong, it wasn't at all uncommon for college students to get a draft deferment during the Vietnam War. At that time there were about 15 million men who received deferments, were exempted, or disqualified for military service. . Trump's avoiding the draft reads like most. Read Bill Clintons tale of avoiding the draft, it was raised to an art form.. From Snoop's fact check. http://www.snopes.com/politics/clintons/felon.asp Vice President Dan Quayle provides an other example. He was able to join the Indiana National Guard as a Reservist; otherwise he would have risked the draft and Vietnam service. Bush did the same thing with the Texas ANG. Mitt Romney deferred, Dick Cheney deferred, Rush Limbach deferred. tps://www.documentcloud.org/documents/626968-military-classifications.html Ted Nugent, Bill O’Reilly and even Selective Service System spokesman Pat Schuback who cited himself as an example. "I got a deferment because I was pursuing a college degree. Even Joe Biden received five student draft deferments during the Vietnam War, in fact The same number of deferments received by Dick Cheney. So whats the issue?
  25. So does my wife! When we were still in high school she would be right with me working on my car, 50 years later she still helps on m projects. I would like to see the faces on your co workers when you bring it to work! Keep up the fantastic work! Paul
