I'm 100% wrong , you're are 100% correct, Obama had absolutely nothing to do with it in fact he tried to save them all. So Sorry for my mispost. .Five were reserve carriers that I did not think being moth balled counted as active ships. Navy Time is apparently also misinformed with their article too. When a crisis break out, the first question the President of the United States asks is, “Where are the carriers?” It’s very understandable. Since December, 1941, the aircraft carrier has been America’s first responder to war and crises short of war. The nuclear-powered carriers (CVNs) in service displace about 100,000 tons of water, can reach speeds of over 30 knots, and can deliver several squadrons of aircraft to a crisis spot. There is a price for this capability. Carriers are expensive – a Nimitz-class carrier costs $4.5 billion to build. The new Gerald R. Ford-class carrier will cost almost $10.5 billion per ship, not counting the R&D costs. They also take a long time to build. It takes at least four years, and in some cases as many as seven to build a nuclear-powered carrier, from laying the keel to commissioning. The Navy had kept all four Forrestal-class carriers and three of the four Kitty Hawk-class carriers (CVs) in reserve. USS America (CV 66) was sunk as a target to acquire data on the effects of combat damage on supercarriers, data used in the design of the Gerald R. Ford-class carriers. These seven carriers were oil-burning ships, with less endurance than the CVNs, but still able to deliver hurt to the bad guys. So, they were mothballed, ready to be reactivated in a time of crisis. That was the case until 2013. Since the start of 2014, the Obama Administration has been rushing these conventional-fuelled ships to Brownsville, Texas, where they are being scrapped. Four of these ships, USS Forrestal (CV 59), USS Saratoga (CV 60), USS Ranger (CV 61), and USS Constellation (CV 64) have been towed to Brownsville, the USS Independence (CV 62), was added in 2015. That is bad enough, but a sixth carrier, USS Enterprise (CVN 65), was also slated to the scrap yard by 2017.

Don't you feel The Light Bringer scrapping 6 aircraft carriers (5 of which were reserve) and gutting the military didn't help the National Security of Russia, Iran and China? They did promise to be his friend.....

Have no idea just always wanted to see whats around the bend, what other people and cultures are like I suppose. After service in S.E.Asia, got really curious about the Orient and Middle East. As for the Texas plates, it seems the U.S. plates are coveted there for some reason. -
She figures $25 or $30K. I have a good friend from service who moved to Cebu. I would like to stop a Pearl Harbor and than go from Cali to Chicago on Rte 66. . But that part is probably not going to happen. We did Rte 66 in 1990 in our 1941 Chevy.

Washington Free Beacon Obtains Copy Of Memo From Clinton Ally Plotting Trump’s Impeachment Matt Vespa Posted: Jan 21, 2017 Hillary Clinton’s stunning upset loss to President Donald J. Trump seems to have prompted some of her top allies to open another front to defeat the president through impeachment. Joe Schoffstall and Lachlan Markay of the Washington Free Beacon have obtained a confidential memo from longtime Clinton ally David Brock that alleges he will use his PAC, American Bridge, to set the wheels in motion. This will be a multi-year project, with Brock hoping that articles of impeachment against Trump will come out of their work. He also hopes to build a network of donors that rivals the right-leaning Koch Brothers: Brock is currently at the Turnberry Isle Resort in Aventura, Fla. for a weekend conference with more than 100 major liberal donors. Attendees are mapping out a course to combat the newly sworn-in president. According to the private and confidential memo, Brock plans to defeat Trump “through impeachment,” using American Bridge, his liberal super PAC, as the main vehicle to do so. “No other progressive organization has the resources and assets that American Bridge has amassed over the past several election cycles to hold Trump, his administration, and the politicians accountable,” the 44-page confidential memo states. Brock’s group claims to have more than 20,000 hours of video, 289 candidate research books, and the largest available archive of Trump research in the Democratic Party. Within weeks of the election, Bridge launched a “Trump War Room,” which has already scrutinized Trump’s transition team and will continue to watch the personnel, policies, and practices of the administration. The “state-of-the-art Trump War Room” will strive to “uncover details of Trump’s affection for Russia and Putin.” They are tracking Trump’s foreign and domestic business partners, construction projects in foreign countries, and negotiations on potential future projects that he “could use to put personal profit ahead of our national security.” The Beacon added that American Bridge also plans to get involved in 16-20 of the most competitive senate races for the 2018 midterms.

Ethics Group Files Lawsuit Against President Trump (But The Group Is Chaired By A Clinton Ally) Matt Vespa Posted: Jan 22, 2017 Citizens for Responsibility and Ethics will file a lawsuit with the Southern District of New York against President Donald J. Trump over payments from foreign governments to his various businesses (via The Hill): Citizens for Responsibility and Ethics in Washington (CREW) announced Sunday night it is bringing a suit “to stop President Trump from violating the Constitution by illegally receiving payments from foreign governments.” At issue is Trump’s refusal to divest from his business or place his assets into a blind trust, which would separate him entirely from his business empire. He has said his adult sons will run his business while he is in office, that they will not conduct any foreign deals and will subject any domestic deals to an ethics review. “We did not want to get to this point. It was our hope that President Trump would take the necessary steps to avoid violating the Constitution before he took office,” CREW Executive Director Noah Bookbinder said. “He did not. His constitutional violations are immediate and serious, so we were forced to take legal action.” Let’s take this with a grain of salt. CREW is part of Clintonite David Brock’s network, along with super PAC American Bridge and Media Matters for America. Brock has said that he intends to find ways to “kick Donald Trump’s ass.” The Clinton ally spoke with Democratic donors at Palm Beach over the inauguration weekend, where a confidential memo obtained by the Washington Free Beacon appear to show a long-term strategy to defeat Trump by impeaching him.

The protesters have a right to protest peacefully, that's one of the things special about our country. I do wonder how many participated in the process or just are there because Hollywood and social media said they should be there or they were paid to be there. The womans rally, aside from Madonna calling for the White House to be blown up and a few other "famous" women demanding equal rights, equal treatment and equal representation, was peaceful. Now the cartoon at the top was to show the childishness of the elected officials who decided not to do what was expected or one of their duties to all the people whom they represent. You may not like or respect the president but should respect the people who elected you to act in their behalf. IMO not supporting the peaceful transition of power dishonors the tradition and their office and the people whom they work for.
