  1. Looking at the pics it looks pretty picked over inside and out including radiator. I know what I'd offer from the pics.
  2. Kind of like the MACK Interstater F model . I have a brochure but have never seen a real one.
  3. From KS Adding to that, the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration has ordered the Mack brand to recall 25,173 trucks because their inter-axle driveshafts may fall off. The recall includes all models: 2012-15 Granite (GU), Pinnacle (CHU, CXU), TerraPro (LEU, MRU), and Titan (TD) and model year 2015 LR trucks manufactured from Sept. 1, 2011, through April 30, 2014. The inter-axle driveshaft yoke retaining nut on the rear-rear axle may fall off. Volvo’s Mack brand spokesman says the nut problem is a supplier issue.
  4. From KS. Ouch. From May 11, 2015, through March 8, 2016, Volvo built model year 2016-2017 Volvo VNL, VNX and VNMs and Mack brand 2016-2017 Titans without a roll pin on the steering shafts, according to the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration. If the roll pin is missing, the lower steering shaft may disconnect from the junction block. Nice. And as if that’s not enough, the bolt connecting the upper steering shaft to the lower steering shaft also may not have been tightened. Both scenarios of course result in a complete loss of steering. The National Highway and Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) thinks around 19 steering shafts provided to Volvo may not have had the roll pin installed, but they really have no idea. This is what happens when you care more about profitability that the actual product you’re building, pushing suppliers too far for cheap pricing and most likely sourcing from developing countries. The defect is so significant that the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) is urging owners to take affected vehicles out of service as soon as possible or face possible penalties, including being placed out of service. In an “urgent inspection bulletin,” FMCSA noted that driving an affected truck could be considered a violation of FMCSA safety regulation 49 C.F.R. §396.7, which prohibits operation of a vehicle in a condition likely to cause an accident or a breakdown. Motor carriers that violate applicable regulations may face enforcement action including, but not limited to, civil penalties and a finding that the defect constitutes an out-of-service condition. http://www.landlinemag.com/Story.aspx?StoryID=30817 https://www.fmcsa.dot.gov/newsroom/urgent-inspection-bulletin-safety-recall-issued-volvo-trucks http://www-odi.nhtsa.dot.gov/acms/cs/jaxrs/download/doc/UCM499790/RCLRPT-16V097-9654.PDF
  5. It was I'm told in 3 to 4+ feet of sea water from Sandy for 3 or more days, plus Irene before that. Salt water, oils and debris didn't help it's condition at all
  6. I wouldn't consider the Valuliner a cheaper unit. It was built to go head to head on the western coast with Peterbilt, Kenworth and Freightliner by offering lighter weight components and a full range of axles, engines and transmissions. Haywards thought was less weight = more freight. Exactly but the RS/RL7** was again meant to compete with the Petes, KW's and Freightliners until the RW hit the bricks. Kind of a stop gap. MACKS intro of the Superliner called it a direct relacement for the old 700 series and shows the new RW with the old RL/RS700
  7. If Hillary gets the Democrat nomination that Sanders voters would in all probability vote for Trump. With the Electoral College and the electronic voting fraud from the past two elections, I feel it is stacked to keep status quo for both parties. One thing mentioned with the GOP Anti Trump thing on Radio Free Europe (BBC) is that the GOP "core" members and their lobbyists do not want Trump as a candidate.
  8. RS or RL 7*** on hood sides only. The Valuliner was for the OTR market so I was told. Same as the InterStater
  9. Even if Donald Trump earns the required 1,237 delegates before the Republican National Convention in Cleveland, he still may not be the party’s nominee for president. . Curly Haugland, an unbound delegate from North Dakota, told CNBC’s “Squawk Box” on March 16 – the day after Trump rolled up more big primary victories – that political parties, not voters, choose their presidential nominees: Haugland, who’s also the head Republican convention rules member, also questioned why primaries or caucuses are even held as they are meaningless to the party.. He’s one of 112 Republican delegates who are not required to cast their support for any one candidate because their states and territories don’t hold primaries or caucuses. Even with Trump’s huge projected delegate haul in four state primaries Tuesday, the odds are increasing that he may not ultimately get the 1,237 delegates needed to claim the GOP nomination before the convention if they allow him to claim the nomination at all. This could lead to a brokered convention, in which unbound delegates, like Haugland, could play a significant swing role on the first ballot to choose a nominee. Most delegates bound by their state’s primary or caucus results are only committed on the first ballot. If subsequent ballots are needed, virtually all of these delegates can vote any way they want, said Gary Emineth, another unbound delegate from North Dakota. If this wasn’t confusing enough, here’s another twist. Haugland sent a letter to each campaign alerting them to a rule changes he’s proposing, which would allow any candidate who earns at least one delegate during the nominating process to submit his or her name to be nominated at this summer’s convention. The rule change also allows the votes by registered Republicans to be counted but Democrates who cross party lines and Independents NOT to be counted. Haugland added: “The rules are designed to have a political party choose its nominee at a convention. That’s just the way it is. Haugland also stated ” It’s our party and we’ll choose any candidate that we damn well want – regardless of what the people think ,want or expect, it is still our show". Seems to me that both Republican and Democratic party leaders have shown voters that they run rigged games for their benefit and not for the benefit of the American public. Conservative Republicans around the country are already beyond angry. If party leaders steal the nomination from Trump, this could be the of the end of the GOP. and creation of a one party system. I feel this "stop Trump art all costs" will also give Hillary or Sanders the election on a platter. Paul
  10. They are all at the MACK plant waiting to be shipped to Europe/ Britain for WWI
  11. And it's an Orrville cab too.
  12. Think "Rubber Duck" Here are some of the differences between a 600 series and a 700 series . Paul
  13. Few more of their crew cab conversions. Paul
  14. 1970 MACK M100SX 16V-71 Detroit Diesel and four axle 650 ton capacity trailer is in Far Rockaway section of Queens, NY. Got weeds growing around it and the flat tires the truck was fully operational but has been sitting there for eight or nine years. It was bought new as a heavy haul truck by Hoffman International of Belleville, NJ, then sold to Mashburn Rigging of TX and now owned by Pile Foundation Construction of Hicksville, NY. It was last used on a large project at nearby JFK airport hauling test weights. Protected by fences, guard dogs and Big Ole Mean Vito No Neck. Couple from the interweb Thadeus W photo of it at work with a heavier trailer unit at Kennedy Air Port.
  15. Think in 1974 they were on the apartheid bad boy list for imports.
  16. The square stock, fish plate and adjuster- tension parts are relatively cheap. It is the roller wheels that are costly because they have a specific radius on their crown and oil hardened or hard chromed for wear. For the ones Northern Freight or Harbor Freight sell you can modify it if needed and still be only a few bucks more than building one. I made my own bending break with a 72 inch opening and the ability to go from 0 to 135 degrees over. My Roller I made from three Hammer Grass Cutter rollers a pair of triangle plates a tension spring and knob from Tractor Supply and a triangle plate. My Beading tool I bought the dies and made the guide, tensioner and feed crank. Bought the stretcher shrinker from Eastwood and mounted that and the bead roller on a pair of Ford Model AA axle tubes bolted to the floor. I have most of a shear made from 2x3 box and AR steel from an old dozer blade.Need some springs and pivot pins to dial it in. Only for no more than 040 steel and aluminum. When we get all into the Homestead in Fork Union you're welcome to look them all over.
  17. I use all the other tools a lot, the English Wheel would be a $300 learning experience. I used one years ago to make a mess of a piece of tin. Bets my usual compound curve method of shopping the junk yard for a close matching panel.
  18. Any flat or curved panel is easy to replace with a break, a roller, beading tool and shrinking/stretching tool, it's the compound curves that are hard. Course I could tell the boss wife I need a Northern Tool English Wheel for under $325
  19. Look for a relay with the green wire on it near or around that harness the wire disappears into, reason being the blower is a high draw accessory and most all are on a relay circut.. That my W.A.G. on it. Paul
  20. Orrville, Ohio was home to Orville Body Co. that supplied day cabs, sleeper cabs and quad cabs to many of the nation’s truck manufacturers. 21. nah I need another project like a hole in the head. Yea if your nearby. I think it needs to be saved, but no special trip to find out. Paul.
  22. From 1974 Over Drive. Pretty interesting units. Page 5 on the bottom is a S.Africa built unit, looks like a modified Autocar/ REO/ White Corperate cab. Paul
