The law went into effect December 21, 2015 to include as the FAA states hundred of thousands of drones and aircraft sold for the holidays. ALL RC aircraft and Heli's are included in the regulation from the little Park Zone Foamie to the big ones including jets.. The law makes no differentiation between Drones and Fixed Wings, powered or glider as long as it is controlled by a radio. Any UAV over 8.8 ounces(250grams) to 55 pounds. Militarily we won Vietnam, politically we lost it. Our Rules of Engagement were a hell of a lot different than actions that followed Vietnam. Maybe because WWII and Korea were so close and many in command were combat veterans from those wars. Officers who were ROTC idiots seemed get themselves hurt. Paul

We lost all our friends too?

Or when drivers had pride, cutesy and were considered knights of the road. I feel like an enemy of everyone one the road including LEO and DOT.

Well as of the middle of December, him and his "recommendations" to the FAA all unmanned aircraft and drones over 8.8 ounces and up to 55 pounds must be registered with the FAA as a hobby UAV. With a check off if the UAV can carry a camera, GPS or other accessory. Over 55 pounds must be registered with standard FAA aircraft rules. All must have the FAA numbers visible on it. 13 to 100 years must register themselves, under 13 the parent must register the. Failure to do so has severe fines and or jail time. All about control and $$$$ Quite a large number of r/c/ flyers are pissed as there was no period of public comment as usually required. FAA and Homeland Security stated "they need to know who has these toys that could be potential weapons in a terrorist or civil attack" Think they be a might fearful?

Not if you have a Sheep, a chickens, a duck and a blow up goat on the front seat with you. The statute is called "Elliots Law" -
This was mine, an early 1970 # 281 off the line built on the GP chassis, I put it on the showroom floor in 1969 and bought it in 1983 from original owner. Factory (454) 402 / 4 speed. Sold it a Mecham last fall.

Thinking about what you said about nobody supporting him or passing his legislation, that alone has the potential (or sure thing) create a dictators legislation binge by pen 1000 times worse then Obama's use of the pen and phone. Paul

Me too. Most of my friends still in service think Hayden is an a$$ and in 2014 defends the interrogation methods and blamed the Democrats and "others" for making it sound evil..Also how the decision to used it was upheld in court. My, my how the tune changed since Obama moved him up. https://www.techdirt.com/articles/20140826/17245928327/former-cia-director-michael-hayden-trying-to-pretend-cia-torture-report-is-just-democrat-political-ploy.shtml

WALL STREET JOURNAL http://on.wsj.com/21zRt5B STARS AND STRIPES http://www.stripes.com/news/us/can-they-do-that-trump-favors-torture-that-s-illegal-1.396840 It is real, he says they will refuse to follow orders they feel are illegal. Obama has purged the military and the DOD of any opposition of him or his policies and views, much like Stalin did in he USSR before WWII.

Posting this for KSCASBEL2 When a former CIA and NSA director throws the threat of a mutiny and coup on the table........that's certainly a foundation rocker. Former CIA director: Military may refuse to follow Trump’s orders if he becomes president By Peter Holley February 28 at 11:39 AM Washington Post Former CIA director Michael Hayden believes there is a legitimate possibility that the U.S. military would refuse to follow orders given by Donald Trump if the Republican front-runner becomes president and decides to make good on certain campaign pledges. Hayden, who also headed the National Security Agency from 1999 to 2005, made the provocative statement on Friday during an appearance on HBO’s “Real Time with Bill Maher.” Trump, fresh off a string of primary victories, has yet to secure his party’s nomination, but Hayden said the candidate’s rhetoric already raises troubling questions.“I would be incredibly concerned if a President Trump governed in a way that was consistent with the language that candidate Trump expressed during the campaign,” Hayden said during the interview with Maher. Earlier this month, Trump told a South Carolina retirement community that he supports waterboarding and similar interrogation techniques because “torture works” when it comes to extracting vital information from terrorists.Deeming waterboarding “torture,” President Obama’s administration discontinued its use during his first term in office. Proponents of the controversial practice, as The Washington Posts Jenna Johnson noted, avoid labeling it as torture, which would violate various international laws and treaties. Trump, meanwhile, has not only pledged to reinstate waterboarding, but also introduce other methods of interrogation that are “so much worse” and “much stronger.”“Don’t tell me it doesn’t work — torture works,” Trump told the Sun City retirement community. “Okay, folks? Torture — you know, half these guys [say]: ‘Torture doesn’t work.’ Believe me, it works. Okay?” Trump has also said on multiple occasions that the United States should kill the family members of terrorists.“That will make people think. Because they do not care very much about their lives, but they do care, believe it or not, about their family’s lives,” Trump said during a debate of Republican presidential candidates in December.

Buffett notes that there will still be large scale world wide economic disruption, unemployment and pain along the way as business evolves, but the country (USA) needs to make sure it has a solid safety net of long term unemployment insurance, healthcare, food, heat and rent assistance to help people who lose jobs. Hope they have a good tax base to pay for the"safety net" freebies Buffett says we will need. Him, Gates, Trump and how many other Smart Rich Boys manipulate the market, buy positions and have regulations and laws passed to benefit them? Trump bought the laws in New York and New Jersey for his casinos, Gates had a monopoly on factory installed OS, Buffett got the pipeline squashed and guess whose tank cars haul oil, ethanol and the grain to manufacture it. Legislation was up to revamp the national rail system to two way lines for hauling freight, Eliminating the dirty semis from the roads will save the earth. Buffett has the in for primary freight. Do you think Buffett benefited at an early age from his father and his father connections owning a stock brokerage firm? Him and Gates giving all the wealth away is in the same line as Andrew Carnegie's "donations" to A) give him peace of mind and atonement for his business practices. Same as my wifes Grandfather Hiram Manville with his asbestos, struck with Money guilt on his death bed. Died of Brown Lung... poetic justice? Trump "borrowed" a million from daddy. Puts him in the same category as Rockefeller, Morgan, Boeing, Leroy Grumman, Pratt, the MACK Brothers and how many others. What is the difference with borrowing money to start a business venture and a car loan or mortgage? I assume you saved 100% for your house, car and education and never owe one thin dime. If so can see why you think borrowing money is bad. Me, if my sons needed 50 or 100 K to start a business or buy into one, I as a parent would give them a leg up on their future. Succeed or fail.

Investor Warren Buffett says the United States' economy is in much better shape than the presidential candidates make it seem.Buffett said Saturday in his annual letter to Berkshire Hathaway shareholders that any baby born in the country today will live better than their parents, even with the current economic growth. "It's an election year, and candidates can’t stop speaking about our country's few problems (which, of course, only they can solve)," he writes. "As a result of this negative drumbeat, many Americans now believe that their children will not live as well as they themselves do. "That view is dead wrong: The babies being born in America today are the luckiest crop in history." Buffett did not single out any presidential candidates by name. The billionaire in December officially threw his backing behind Democrat Hillary Clinton"During presidential elections where no incumbent is running, both sides who are running for president always say they are the ones to solve the nation's problems and point out what those problems are," Bill Smead, who invests $2.1 billion at Smead Capital Management in Seattle, told Reuters. Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump, who won New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie's endorsement on Friday, has offered a bleak assessment of the economy, repeatedly saying it is in a "bubble" that he hopes will pop before he takes office. "I don't want to inherit all this stuff," Trump has said. In his letter, Buffett notes that there will still be large scale world wide economic disruption, unemployment and pain along the way as business evolves, but the country (USA) needs to make sure it has a solid safety net of long term unemployment insurance, healthcare, food, heat and rent assistance to help people who lose jobs. Buffett pointed out that change also creates challenges for businesses. For instance, its BNSF railroad is certain to haul less coal in the future but more oil and Geico insurance could be hurt by driverless cars. I have a few simple questions from a plain old working man for Mr Buffett... Any child born now in the U.S. will have a Federal deficit of 20 trillion dollars to pay off, and an unfunded debt of over 100 trillion dollars. Now, what kind of future is that? And the Economy? Baltic dry index is at record low, oil is at around $30 per barrel ( high supply due to lower demand worldwide in global economy), many American workers are employed less than forty hours per week , record numbers on some form of government assistance, heath care now is just an expensive piece of paper with a outrageously high deductible for the fully employed and the stock market has had a terrible first two months, business are scaling back or moving out of the U.S. over tax rates. This is a strong economy?

NYSDMV TRUCK INFO https://www.dot.ny.gov/divisions/operating/osss/truck/registration-licensing NY HUT INFO https://www.oscar.ny.gov/OSCR/OSCRCarrierHome Antique plates in NY do not need NYDOT numbers according to NYSDMV (see link)Vehicle must be 25 years or older. I was told if you go interstate you MAY need Federal DOT Numbers but seems to be a very grey area depending on the inspector. . . HUT sticker is questionable, check on the site I gave you, there is / was changes. Some in the Long Island ATHS member trucks have them, some do not. I don't because the truck I have with Antique Plates never leaves the Twin Forks on Eastern Long Island. Pulling a personal use trailer have "not for hire /personal use only" on cab and trailer as per Suffolk County DOT recommendations. Trailers in NYS need insurance, plates and inspection Vintage, Antique or not, have none you will get ticketed and possibly get it impounded. Paul
