I would charge the Today Show Hosts with Treason for Aiding and Abetting the "Enemy"! Paul ISIS Leader Nominated for TIME's 'Person of the Year' BBC News | Dec 07, 2015 Every year, a few names on TIME's 'Person of the Year' list are bound to raise some eyebrows. The "Today Show" anchors unveiled TIME’s shortlist for 2015 live on Monday morning. Among the list were Donald Trump, Vladimir Putin, Travis Kalanick, the CEO of Uber, and Caitlyn Jenner. That last name isn’t the most controversial one of the list, however. The TIME editors unveiled their nominees in alphabetical order. Here’s their first choice: Abu Bakr Al-Baghdadi, who as leader of ISIS has inspired followers to both fight in his self-declared caliphate of Iraq and Syria, and also stage attacks in countries like Tunisia and France. Yes, a terror leader responsible for barbaric beheadings and countless murders Could be in the same category as The Ebola Fighters, Pope Francis and The American Soldier. (One of these people are not like the others.) Before going any further, it's worth noting that last year the magazine voted Al-Baghdadi as the world's "most dangerous man." Also on the shortlist this year is Iranian President Hassan Rouhani, who TIME describes as a leader “seeking to bring his country out of pariah status and repair its sanction-crippled economy by pursuing a nuclear deal with the West.” I’d add a footnote: He blamed the U.S. and Israel for cultivating “the seeds of extremism and division” at the United Nations General Assembly in September. Despite the disturbing list, the "Today" anchors gleefully encouraged their viewers to vote for their favorite nominee Abu Bakr Baghdadi ISIS Leader (!). Trump got it right when he charged today's media for glamorizing terrorists. "I think the press is making it -- they're making – they're glamorizing these people," Trump said. "These people are animals.

House Dem: Obama Could Cause ‘Devastating War’ With Russia Washington Post Representative Tulsi Gabbard (D., Hawaii) suggested that Obama’s decision to place American fighter jets equipped “to target armed Russian planes” on the border between Turkey and Syria, and his stated opposition to Russian-backed Syrian dictator Bashar al-Assad, could lead the U.S. into a war with Vladimir Putin’s regime. “Russia’s installation of their anti-aircraft missile-defense system increases that possibility of — whether it’s intentional or even an accidental event — where one side may shoot down the other side’s plane,” Gabbard told Carter. “And that’s really where the potential is for this devastating war.” Carter characterized the U.S. disagreement with Russia as a diplomatic problem, not a military danger. “We have a different view, a very different view from Russia about what would be constructive for them to do in Syria,” he said. “That’s not the same as the United States and Russia clashing.” Now that the President has place "his" people in command positions and made a new ISIS - ISL Tsar, the yes men are letting a CIC make his own military decisions with what seems to me, little regard of consequences..

14 people murdered in California shooting, 17 injured (updated)
41chevy replied to kscarbel2's topic in Odds and Ends
Obama's speech tonight blah blah blah a feather merchant at best. Following the recent attack in California, President Barack Obama has called on Americans not to give in to fear, while trying to assure the public that he and his administration take the threat of terrorism seriously. In a rare speech from the Oval Office in the White House, Obama Sunday night said the FBI is still gathering facts about what happened last week in San Bernardino, California. He added there is no evidence yet that the two shooters involved were part of a broader terror network overseas. He said the U.S. under his administration has hardened its defenses against terrorist threats and stressed the U.S. military has relentlessly pursued terrorist networks overseas. But he noted that criminals are now turning to what he called "less complicated" attacks like what happened in California. Obama said he understands that Americans are asking if "we are confronted by a cancer that has no cure." He vowed "we will destroy ISIL," using an acronym for the Islamic State terror group. He promised the U.S. military will hunt down terrorist leaders in any country where they hide. He also said the U.S. will continue to provide training and equipment to Syrian and Iraqi forces fighting IS on the ground. And he said the U.S. is working with friends and allies, and that the international community has begun to pursue a timeline to bring and end to the Syrian war. Obama said he has ordered the Department of State and Homeland Security to review the visa waiver program under which the female shooter in California got into the United States. He called on Congress to make sure no one on a no-fly list can buy a gun. And he said again that we must make it harder for people to buy assault weapons The president said these are the steps we can take together to defeat the terrorist threat. He added we will not be drawn once again into a long and drawn-out war on the ground in Iraq or Syria. He said that's what IS wants us to do. He stressed that we cannot let this war be defined as a struggle between America and Islam. The president said Muslim leaders must work with us to reject hateful ideology that al-Qaida and IS promote. He also said it is the responsibility of all Americans of every faith to reject the notion that Muslim Americans must be treated differently. He insisted "we are on the right side of history." "Let's not forget that freedom is more powerful than fear," Obama added. -
