According to D.O.E. calculations, producing corn and processing it into 1 gallon of ethanol requires 131,000 BTUs of energy; but 1 gallon of ethanol contains only 77,000 BTUs [source:EPA/DOE]. That ethanol could end up containing less energy than the gasoline consumed to produce it. Smith Brothers Trucking did the transport of the Los Angles Power Plant equipment and most of the installation of the parts. The interesting thing is the photo of them installing the smoke stack. Three AC's to stabilize it and a guide pole, one to lower the stack with a pulley and cable and one man on the roof to guide the stack. Looks like cast iron and about 65 feet tall and about 4 to 5 feet diameter. Pretty cool with no big cranes, unions and OSHA. Paul Dynamo Armature. Transformer unit. Stack install

And haven't any idea of the carnage their inattention caused. I had a classic happen this morning on the Long Island Expressway bob tailing to Riverhead at 7 a.m. in the center lane doing 65. Only 5 or 6 cars and a UPS combo spread out over about 3/4 mile. I see a Honda Pilot on the entrance ramp creeping along at probably 25 . Doesn't accelerate just pulled right into the center lane and I think it actually slowed down! As I got around the lady with out spreading Honda and Marmon parts all over the road I see her blissfully feed a young child in the passenger seat from a bowl of cereal. Never even knew I was there!
