  2. German made ass kicking material handler about a 40 foot reach, logging or scrap metal mostly. Cab elevates close to 18 feet up. Unit weighs in close to 35 to 38 long tons.

  4. B's had optional round aluminum tanks and they were available on R models from the introduction in 1966. Haywood R's and RW's came with round aluminum tanks as standard. I saw a pair of square aluminum tanks that were factory on a late B53 mixer chassis also
  5. A little history on the R410 series the Mopar power was to get Mack an edge on the GM,Ford and Dodge because of name recognition and with the 413 took out the idea that only a diesel tech could service them. Macks idea was that the average owner who stepped up to a Mack could still do repairs or have the local shop do it and parts could be easily gotten from a local parts store, like they could do with a Ford, GMC , Binder or Dodge. Also gave the owner a bit of prestige of having a Mack. The same was applied to the Scannia powered R410. They never caught on because the dealers didn't really push them so people looking for a medium/heavy unit went to the other known makers.
  6. The track and the event people decided that if every car is not 100% legal by the current 2019 NHRA rules you will not be allowed to even drive down the track. Not going to haul 550 miles each way to sit in the display area. 25 cars from our East Coast Gassers and 9 from Southern Gassers are dropping out. I will be at Drag Week Sept 8, 9 and 13 in Virginia.
  7. Went and paid a glass shop to install all 8 new pieces of glass this weekend shaved 138 pound off with new acrylic glass. They haven't decided on letting non NHRA certified Nostalgia cars run over 100mph. Should know tomorrow afternoon.
  8. Funny but 48 years later a smell or sound (particularly at night) or even just the way the day feels will evoke a tons of memories from there, some okay some not so much. But we did what we had to do and never thought of not doing what was asked. My best friend who was also my M60 gunner died in the beginning of the year from A.O. induced lung problems, last of my unit. I bring a lot of dimes and quarters when I go to "see" them.
  9. Watch is newest video he's now into the sugar rush from Mountain Dew.

  13. Haywood California Mack Factory 6584 built from 1977 to 1985 RWS700 series
  14. Same reason we give all types of money and aid to illegals who come here? After all it is not like the politicians really give a crap about who bank rolls the funds or who bears the burden of the debt. Remember AOC's statement about spending money "if we don't have enough, just print more because it is not adding to the deficit if it comes from inside the U.S. borders"
  15. Only going by Macks spec scan from the dealer.

  19. With the engine is cruising, the EGR valve is supposed to open to allow the carbon dioxide in the exhaust to cool the combustion chamber. If the EGR valve jams open, exhaust fumes are being fed into the engine at all times. This will cause poor acceleration and rough running, because the excess exhaust fumes are depriving the engine of oxygen. Because there is insufficient oxygen, there’s too much fuel, so the unburnt fuel starts spewing out of the exhaust as black smoke, especially when the engine is at idle. THe excess fuel will also "wash" the cylinders and can cause major wear issues. Fuel consumption wlll rise substantially. Due to a lack of oxygen , the engine sometimes starts to misfire, sometimes seriously and might produce an unusual metallic rattle or knocking when the engine is under load. If the engine is left in this condition for too long, the engine life will be shortened considerably. In the worst case this problem may cause melted pistons and therefore engine failure. The valves in the cylinder head may also begin to stick due to being heavily coated with carbon. So free it or replace it ASAP. Paul
  20. THe boy is about 14 and apparently has a comedy act with Bob Marley. Meant to be funny. Ran into a few up a Crown of Maine on the Canadian border who I only got one out of every ten words luckily I had my Naaarthon Maaine to English book with me

  22. I can do that! The Rocknrace and Geezer Gassers are changing rules for the vintage FEDs, Altereds and gassers I may not be ABLE to run along with about 40 other cars or they may limit us to a 100 mph or less for 1/2 track. If they do I'll just take the pick up and slide in hit the swap meet, go see you, Ohio George in Dayton and than head to Erie Pa to visit some friends.
