Welcome! Nice B. I would definitely keep the stock power pack. Remember the last B rolled out in 1965 and there are still a ton out there working and being used almost daily. Can't get more dependable than that. Change gearing for the speed you want, up grade to an Alternator and have a ball with it. Paul

England banned most all guns so far as making antiques permanently inoperable. The solution was that criminals made Zip Guns using ball bearings and butane from cigarette lighters or propane as the propellant. FYI Gibbs , the White House Mouth Piece called the Marines actions reckless (!) -

Well if things work out I'll be joining the B model Paige and Paige Club. Paul -
The suspension set up was to change the center of gravity to add weight transfer. With the tire and clutch technology than it did help. With a big box the was no aerodynamics. My alcohol funny car 1972 qualifying for AHRA funnycay license. My 55 when my pop ran it in 1962 at Suffolk Dragway d/gas. 301 Chevy twin WCFB carbs, 3 speed with 56 Olds rear 5:13 gears and home build quarter eliptic rear springs. Now, a 302 bored to 320 MC six banger, Wayne cross flow head, 6 port Holly Pro-Jection, Super T-10 and the 56 Olds Rear with 5:33's still in it. I returned it to conventional leaf springs for the street. In the 1970's I ran a 427 tunnel ran for street racing in NYC and on Nassau and Suffolk counties.

Example #5,167: Government - Big Business Corruption
41chevy replied to kscarbel2's topic in Odds and Ends
Not much diffeent from Long Island. The governor and his live in lady own 35% or PSEG whom he picked to supply power and natural gas to us after he desolved to Public Utility. Our 5 year rate freeze was only 6 to 8 percent over three billing period because of fuel costs er delivery costs er er repairs yeah that s it! Corruption seems to be the norm now from the PTA and school boards to the Prez and most all in between.. -

The town probably allows a single vehicle and its (float) tow in the parade don't say how long the tow is. Fooled them! Bet they won't be invited back

I followed the build up in HR magazine I'll have to watch the videos. I have the blown Alcohol 392 with 354 heads from my funnycar (ran it in 1972 and 73) and 3 Maxi Wedges. Two are factory stage III and on is from Cotton Owens 64 Dodge Super Stock Drag car from when there were NASCAR drags. Funny that people doubt the race was legit. The 55 weighs in at 2895 lbs, has 700 h.p. a five speed O.D. Manual trans and 4:56 gears. Hellcats got the 55 by 10 h.p. or so. The 55 is about 1200 to 1400 lbs lighter in weight. Thanks for the video!! Paul

After market harness into mack
41chevy replied to 68-f-model's topic in Electrical, Electronics and Lighting
I put relays in my B for headlamps, Perlux driving lamps, the spotlamp on mixer controls/ chute and the heater blower motor. Anything with a high current draw should ideally have a relay. The battery disconnects are in the cab on the floor by the door. I like the fact that A) it totally isolated the system from the batteries and it's a poor mans anti theft device. -

The Chaos Continues - Coming soon to a neighborhood near you
41chevy replied to kscarbel2's topic in Odds and Ends
But the Beltway is displaying "leadership" More gun laws, more talk on the "great racial division", more talk of the need for aid to help them "rise above their surroundings", more talk of uncaring Whites as the root cause of these events. They act like animals and we are the cause and pay in the end. They riot and what to we do? We rebuild the businesses and homes they looted and burnt down. "We" build new housing for the ones they destroy. Throw money at them with "Community Out Reach Centers". Me, I'd pay the business to open in another area and as for the rest of it? Screw them! You destroyed your neighborhood businesses and housing tough crap. Act like animals, you can live like animals. Try that in my area there will be only one story in the police report. I have a tail light out, I get hassled. They loot, riot and commit arson and the excuse is that it's where the live or they need jobs or the best one is Slavery caused this problem. Why just look at the Federally sponsored program in Baltimore to help the areas of color. They placed ex cons in the area to patrol and prevent crime. Theory being as "former" criminals they knew better what to look for than LEO's. They were busted for running a protection and drug operation after many business called for help. -
Have a great birthday!!

Go to Summit Racing for Remote Battery Disconnect Switches. Required by NHRA and AHRA on my race car, but I've added one on all my trucks for peace of mind. 300 amp rating. http://www.summitracing.com/search/part-type/battery-disconnect-switches -
Wow! Nice. It's a lot bigger than the FWD I'm looking into. Bumper to rear step is probably equal to that ones wheel base!

We will find out. I asked for chassis, engine and data info. He sent me the gov purchase id numbers and date of acceptance. We'll wait and see.
-
Going by the info and the owner input. I do/did think it sounded high though. 1949 FWD (4 Wheel Drive Division) Ex U.S. Forestry Fire Truck 4400 miles, 572 Cubic Inch Waukesha in line 6 Cyl. runs excellent, new tires, brakes and clutch. Eng has 2 plugs per cyl & 2 ignition systems, Magneto & Points, 1750 Gallon per minute pump, very straight.

Nice job on them.

Grew up with all old vehicles and equipment with a family that fixed or made what was needed. All my equipment is old most all from pre WWII to the 60's.You need to know what available to keep it all going. Made a good side business buying and selling vintage auto parts and hardware. I bought obsolete stock from tons of auto parts stores, Body supply stores, old auto and truck dealerships and even old school hardware stores. So a good knowledge of whats what is needed. I even at one point had a Caddy dealer and a Chevy dealer buying NOS body panels and trim parts from me. and yes I've always read a lot. I'd rather sit with a book, magazine or crawling around old stuff then go hang out ( a general dislike of most social events probably helps too), plus blessed or cursed with a photographic memory. Great for school and work, bad for general life. Mainly it's sad to have acquired all this knowledge over the years and not share it if someone needs the info. Thanks Norm. -
Trump says he'd deport illegal immigrants as U.S. president
41chevy replied to kscarbel2's topic in Odds and Ends
As kscarbel2 says, the popular vote is a feel good thing for the people. The system of the Electoral College was set up to protect the "ruling class" not to listen to the people. The Founding Fathers had no intention of letting the "rabble" elect leaders and change the status quo . Now add to that the changes in the Electoral College that were made by the current administration, I fear we are slatted for bad juju this election. I fear that Trump is being used as a distraction from what is really happening in the shadows. The illegals doing work that Americans won't do is a lame excuse I feel. That mind set goes back to the school systems. "Career" Consulers telling children that doing physical labor is beneath them or that physical work is immigrant work. Who decides the Americans will not do the work if it is available to them? The other side of the coin, the Federal government gives me a $3000.00 bonus if I hire an amnesty illegal by not requiring me to give them health insurance and by having a tax credit on my business taxes for 50% of their wages. Stop making it so attractive to use the illegals for corporations.
