  5. The Chattanooga shooting was a call to arms, call a terrorist a terrorist! Admit we are at war. Admit we are at war in the U.S.A. The correct responses should have been: 1) Within hours of the shooting, all military posted in the U.S. should have been armed and ready. 2) immediate lowering of the flag to half-mast across the country to honor the five men killed. It took FIVE freaking days. (Yet… Isn’t it insulting how the White House got lite up in Rainbow colors a mere two hours after the Supreme Court Gay Marriage decision?) President Obama, this is how you use Executive Orders. Use them to protect the legal citizens. The correct response to this shooting should have been a no-brainer, instead of coming up with excuses and blame on the part of the innocents. Instead we get talking points from a bunch of government appointed spin doctors acting as counter-terrorism experts. While Obama is missing in action in Kenya. Let’s pray we respond before it’s too late. Although he killed five unarmed military recruiters, senior counter-terrorism officials deny Mohammod Abdulazeez, the Chattanooga shooter has any terrorist ties. ""The FBI said the gunman who killed five American troops in a Chattanooga shooting spree last week did online research for militant Islamist “guidance” on committing violence that he may have believed would wipe away in the afterlife his sins on earth including drug and alcohol abuse, an arrest and a lost job, officials said on Monday. The Internet searches were discovered on electronic devices such as his smartphone analyzed over the weekend by the FBI Lab in Quantico, Virginia, several counter-terrorism officials confirmed to ABC News. But there is no evidence so far that Mohammod Abdulazeez, 24 — who Obama insists was deeply troubled and mentally ill — wasn't inspired by or directed by ISIS to carry out a bloody attack on U.S. military targets of the sort the Syria and Iraq-based terror group has publicly called for over the past year, the White House spokesman said.""
  6. They can't do it from the couch . . yet. But they probably will when the self drivers hit the streets. As for getting in and starting it up, the path through the hands free phone link, On Star or Sirus is wide open to entry. The links work to disable the anti-theft systems in seconds to steal wheels and/or the headlamp modules. Some of which are 5 to 7 grand a piece. Paul
  7. At least he has old truck and museum experience and I'm sure will grow into the position. I'm sure Don had some input on his successor. Paul

  9. Since the LEO's and Government seems too be unwilling to enforce stalking, harassment and intimidation statutes what alternatives do people have to protect their families?. If I did the same thing my arse would be in jail. Paul
  10. The new breed of salesman is a generic one. From selling a washer drier one day to Chevies the next to a MACK the following week. No knowledge of the product beyond what the generic sheet says. Seems more important to know the $ aspect than the products. Contact the company for a tech question, if it's not in the computer you will most likely not get an answer. People with brand knowledge and the willingness to get you answers seems to be a thing of the past.
  11. How secure good question. Tesla's are up gradable from your Smart Phone, I pad or for safety upgrades are direct link to Tesla. So I would think the systems are wide open to be hacked by a kid with an I pad and a Pringles can antenna. Homes with smart tech are easily hacked with a roving band width app from Best Buy and the like. As fast as security is updated the app to defeat it is available. Security is only good for the honest person not to have access.
  12. Obama: Critics of Iran nuclear deal 'selling a fantasy' AP By JULIE PACE WASHINGTON (AP) — President Barack Obama assailed critics of his Iran nuclear deal Wednesday as "selling a fantasy" to the American people, warning Congress that blocking the accord would damage the nation's credibility and increase the likelihood of more war in the Middle East.Besides challenging opponents at home, Obama cast Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu as the isolated international opponent of the historic accord, saying, "I do not doubt his sincerity, but I believe he is wrong. The agreement would require Iran to curtail most of its nuclear program for at least a decade in exchange for 600 billion of dollars in relief from the U.S. and other international sources. But Netanyahu and a few critics in the U.S. argue that it would not stop Iran from building a bomb. The president's blunt remarks, in an hour-long address at American University, were part of an intense lobbying campaign by the White House ahead of Congress' vote next month to either approve or disapprove the international agreement. Opponents of the agreement have streamed to Capitol Hill, too, to make their case, and they have spent tens of millions of dollars on advertisements. The White House considers them a radical fringe group using scare tactics. The stakes are high, Obama said, contending that it isn't Iran's ability to build a bomb that is on the line but "America's credibility as the anchor and leader of international policy system." "The choice we face is ultimately between diplomacy and a nuclear war," Obama said. "Maybe not tomorrow, maybe not three months from now, but very, very soon." View galleryPresident Barack Obama speaks about the nuclear deal with Iran, Wednesday, Aug. 5, 2015, at American …Obama's diplomatic overtures to Iran, a centerpiece of his foreign policy agenda, have put him at odds with Republicans and some Democrats, as well as with Netanyahu, who has campaigned vigorously against the deal. Netanyahu and U.S. critics of the Iran deal say Obama is presenting a false choice between accepting the deal at hand and going to war to stop Iran from building a bomb. Obama told Jewish leaders in a private meeting Tuesday that he understood their concerns about them being cast as warmongers. But he made his case even more aggressively Wednesday by linking critics of the deal to those who pushed for the invasion of Iraq in 2003, a conflict President Obama considered a mistake. "I have repeatedly challenged anyone opposed to this deal to put forward a better, plausible alternative," he said. "I have yet to hear one. What I've heard instead are the same types of arguments that we heard in the run-up to the Iraq war." Drawing on more distant history, Obama said the Iran deal was in line with America's long tradition of "strong, principled diplomacy and successful negotiations with Iran" He spoke at the same university where John F. Kennedy called for Cold War diplomacy and nuclear disarmament, and he referred to Presidents Kennedy and Ronald Reagan a number of times. View galleryPresident Barack Obama speaks about the nuclear deal with Iran, Wednesday, Aug. 5, 2015, at American …The Iran accord was finalized last month after more than a year of tense negotiations between Iran, the U.S., Britain, France, Germany, China and Russia. The president argues that if Congress blocks the accord, the European Union and the United Nations will lift their sanctions anyway, collapsing the best leverage the international community has to stop Iran from building a bomb. Opponents say the deal leaves 90% of Iran's nuclear infrastructure in place and allows Tehran to rebuild its program quickly. Critics also contend Iran will use an influx of funds now frozen under the sanctions to boost terrorist activity around the Middle East. The White House is preparing for the likelihood that lawmakers will vote against the deal next month and is focusing its lobbying efforts on getting enough Democrats to sustain a presidential veto. Only one chamber of Congress is needed to sustain a veto and keep the deal in place. Obama needs 146 Democrats in the House or 34 in the Senate to sustain a veto. The White House has said it will sustain a veto in the House. ___ Associated Press writers Josh Lederman, Donna Cassata and Deb Riechmann contributed to this report. ___

  16. It it done with Ford 9" and Dana 60's all the time. But you need a dummy ham with bushings in place of the bearings and the same on the axle bearing end of the tubes. A shaft to run through the all to show you when it is aligned. Clamps and a minimum of a 20 ton porta-power. The tube is replaceable, pull it and put the tube in true. They are button welded in most times.
  17. LT-1 still lives but the SS has an LS-3.

  20. Those Lever Shocks are rebuildable, Generally they just need the crud cleaning out and refilling with m/c fork oil - there isn't usually much more than a piston and the occasional sprung washer/valve in there. You can tune them to an extent by using different weights of fork oil. The Shock Links are available. GM, Ford and other brands ran them til the mid 50's. They generally get called pieces of sh*t because when we get them, they have not been serviced if 30 or more years,

  23. The 1st "lady" already made her comments on General Forrest and his wife today...along with the CSA Memorial in Arlington and Mount Rushmore. My Family fought on both sides. That is history. . . .deal with it or ignore it and get to repeat it. I guess only minority and "pretty History" is allowed in their world. Hope the court defeats the anti history groups. 24. The First Lady(?) today giving her view on the Stone Mountain carving. The removal of CSA General Forrest and his wifes graves and the sale of his statue in Memphis. The removal of the CSA Memorial at Arlington National Cemetery. She mentioned that the next "target" should be the memorial to White Supremacy (her words) . . . Mount Rushmore. The crowded cheered her. Most of the crowd appeared to be non minority college and 30's something people. These are offensive??
