  1. Looks like you drove in to a septic system . . . But I'll take the rain. Paul
  2. I'm sure being a favored P-3 company (it's in "in" the White House) the China America Construction Company will get the projects or it's parent company the China Engineering and Construction Company LTD. After all they "won" the Alexander Hamilton Bridge reconstruction in N.Y., consultants on the Tappenzee Bridge construction, the entire S.F. Bay bridge rebuild, the 3 PSEG and LIPA power plants in N.J. N.Y.C. and Long Island, 26 public Schools in North Carolina, the New Nassau Coliseum on L.I. and the tentative rehab/upgrade of 300 total miles the Mississippi Levies and Dykes. They are also the major player on the second Panama Canal. Last year the American "company" was awarded a little over $1.6 billion in Federally funded construction contracts and have made in the last 7 years in the US. alone $92 billion. Contributed over $250 million to various D.C and State political campaigns.
  3. Yeah the small imperfections on my 51 Ford bother me, but seems I'm the only one who knows where they are.
  4. The bridge was under the stacker for the sand feed to last year
  5. Til we break it.
  6. No Canada with out Vicky. Paul
  7. What happen to the cab Vinny? You guys put a ton of work into it. Paul
  8. 1910 photo of theSAME TYPE of bridge.
  9. Mush of the original route were been turned in regular roads and into Rail Road right of ways. The R.R.right of ways have been turned into jogging ,walking and bike ways. A few over grown sections in a housing development of Bagatell Road, Melville and in Dix Hills off Deer Park ave. The rest on the island is long gone. Five bridges in Queens, two bridges left in Nassau County one in Manhasset Hills and one in Old Bethpage. The last and only bridge Suffolk County in original condition was in 110 Sand on Spagnoli Rd Melville.
  10. I went through this with my International. There are no radials with the side wall pattern that fits the trucks era. I was told by Coker and Miller both, that the early pattern side walls will not flex the amount a radial tire needs to flex and the radial thead to side wall pattern is designed for pavement contact on turns. Look at the Cokers and Millers 60's era Muscle car radials have the vintage red, gold or blue stripe or white lettering for the proper look but have the radial tire side walls. Millers 9.00 x 20 Power King Highway Ribs are the only ones I've seen with close to that style side wall pattern. If the trucks sits for months at a time and you end up going with bias ply, why not put it up on stands to unload the tires? P.I.A. but that's an option I've has good luck with Miller Tire with the rubber for my Binder and the tires for one of my AC's 40x8 BFGoodrich repros. 11. Why not straighten out the guard? lf you have a metal fabrication shop or a Duct shop they could run it though their rollers. You could do it your self too. Roll a piece of black iron pipe in it on a piece of plywood. A few gentle taps from a rubber or leather mallet would make it look 95% til you locate an other one. Paul
  12. Still have to swap the Amp gauge wires so it will read correct. Paul
  13. Maybe he's stuck in the cab?
  14. link won't open for me
  15. A few of us tried to lease farm acreage to the Solar Company. Brookhaven and Riverhead would not approve the permits... said it was unsightly, BUT since the "solar farm" for the Brookhaven National Labs it's O.K. over 4500 panels. The one on Eduards ave is 180 panels ($487,000 to install and saves $8500 in electric bills) and owned by LIPA and is only for the Peconic Winery nobody else. Riverhead town loves wineries because the say they are Enviromentally friendly unlike farms. The Delea Sod farms in Shoreham are now being taken by Emminent Domain for LIPA to put in 750 solar arrays for the local school, bus garage and Brookhaven town yard. But it did create jobs, town supervisor Walters brother owns the company that keeps the solar arrays clean. Go figure!
  16. it's not the lights..... That's a really nice nit. My old dept just had their 1972 MACK CF-600 pumper converted to a 3200 gal. tanker with a slight stretch, they designed it them selves. Looks askew to my eye. Paul
  17. Have a really great Birthday!! Paul
  18. Their minds are clear. . . everyday the White House Uni-corns bring their medication in the form of clouds and faireys. No real world living for them
  19. The solution according to Riverhead is to have a misting system on the harrow, plow or rake. You know use our limited amount of water on a system that clogs up everything and won't work anyhow!... Morons All!!! Remember New York City, Nassau and Suffolk counties on Long Island have tons of stupid laws, here's are a few. 20. A lot of history gone every where! The last overpass of the Vanderbilt Parkway was demolished last fall to big fan fair and a good speech of how great progress is. From The Save L.I.'s History magazine The first segment of the reinforced-concrete road, which eventually stretched 44 miles from Fresh Meadows in Queens to Lake Ronkonkoma, opened Oct. 10, 1908, two weeks after Henry Ford began production of his Model T. It allowed its organizer, 29-year-old New York Central Railroad heir William K. Vanderbilt Jr., and fellow wealthy car owners a chance to indulge their passion for speeds up to 90 m.p.h. Long Island Motor Parkway The Long Island Motor Parkway Inc. was incorporated Dec. 3, 1906, with Vanderbilt as president and Henry Ford, August Belmont and John Jacob Astor in supporting roles. "It has been the dream of every motorist to own a perfect car and to have a road without speed limit," Vanderbilt said OPENED Oct. 10, 1908 LENGTH 44 miles from Fresh Meadows, Queens, to Lake Ronkonkoma, plus 2.1-mile spur in Commack. COST Estimated $6 million TOLL $2 per car in 1908; 40 cents in 1933. PEAK VOLUME 175,000 motorists in 1929. DESIGN Nation's first reinforced concrete, high speed limited-access automobile toll road that incorporated firsts. Including 65 bridges that eliminated intersections; an E-ZPass-type annual placard for paying tolls; and banked curves, guardrails, nonskid pavement, bright lighting, landscaping and specially trained highway police. LAST DAY OF OPERATION Easter Sunday 1938.
  21. Here's another from opening to fire... Very sad we don't preserve our history. <iframe width="560" height="315" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/_Zt0UNxakZQ"frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>
  22. 80% of my stuff is already moved to Va. The only big pieces left to move are my A car, my wrecked R685 and my mail box. That will be last because I need a crane to put the mailbox on my trailer. Carlot Interesting article. we are entering in to regulation hell I feel
  23. I know you've been busy. When I went to Denton for the Marmon Homecoming there was't a hill left in sight there. Paul
  24. Might help trace the power paths. .This type of relay is defined as “Single Pole Double Throw” or “SPDT. This term means that the single armature terminal (or pole, pin30) can be connected (or thrown) to two other terminals, pins 87a and 87. The SPDT relay is one of the most useful configurations due to its flexibility-it can be used as a switching device, to isolate circuits, to interrupt circuits and to interrupt and switch at the same time. Seem to think your relay is not routing the power from low voltage or low amperes. I'd check the voltage at 85 86 and 30. Seems per the schematic that there seem to be a common connection in the harness for pins 30 (35a 3.0) and 85 (35a 2.0) power supply. That could be your problem. I'd check volt and ohms for the loop between the pair of wires in that circuit or look at the junction point for a problem.
  25. Here is the way do do only a cigarette lighter power port in a Positive Ground vehicle for a Negative ground devise. This is in an Autin Healy but same basic positive ground system as the B Model. Paul http://www.mossmotoring.com/negative-ground-lighter-socket-in-a-positive-ground-car/
