  1. Open cab. probably to cold to eat anyway
  2. May point you in the correct direction, gives you possible causes for the blink codes. Paul http://collision.alldata.com/online2help/techRef/Powertrain_Trouble_Code_Charts/Mack/V-MAC_III.htm
  3. It was discussed at the L.I. Antique Power Association. Said it was rough but complete and last ran in 2010. Paul
  4. Never even thought of that! I keep looking at the rear sprocket, works out close as I can figure to be a 60 + tooth driven by a 21 or 23 tooth.
  5. Complete and appears pretty solid,. That's a keeper in my book. Paul
  6. Wyandanch F.D. bought this AC new in 1933 when this photo was taken in Long Island City at the MACK plant. They ran it up to 1960 or 61. I heard it was just found in Mississippi. Paul
  7. 1918 MACK p[lowing the streets near Capital Hill. Odd front wheels on it. Notice the pipe and pump between the tank and front wheel and the extra large sprocket on the rear wheels. Talk about gearing!
  8. Hill R e age 2 click....
  9. Welcome!! Nice unit. Never saw the sloped hood. All the Australian Valueliners like that? Paul
  10. These are from the 1969 Truck and Equipment Expo in Chicago. 1969 K.W. and a 1969 Hendrickson. Biggest problem with the AC Big Al series was service. In North America Cummins had 1000 service facilities, MACK 700 plus, Cat had close to 1000 service centers. With the Allis Chalmers 21000 /25000 series road engines you needed to go to an A/C Construction Vehicle center...they had 65 in the U.S.and 11 in Canada. They were ahead of their time. Four valves per cylinder, 3750 PSI at the injectors, Guaranteed to do the speed limit (in 1969) in all the lower 48. 6 plus MPG but almost zero support system There was a Green MACK F-700 sold on Ebay 4 or 5 years ago with an Allis 25000-400 h.p.
  11. Just a Nursery / Landscape Design Co. owner who was told it's rare and valuable, probably by a SUV driving Volvo Hat wearing Wanna be.. . .he will be looking at it til it rusts away, some things do not get better with age.
  12. This truck on the Nothork of L.I. has the Allis Chalmers 21000 385 in it, a 385 h.p. 1110 pound of torque de-tuned version of the 450 h.p. 25000 series.( Odd turbo set up, Air intake is on the cab end with exhaust out the front. All the 21000 and 25000 series had that set up.) I've been trying to buy it for 8 years. Even though it has no moved in at least a decade there is no negotiation on his price of $12500.00. Someone from the Allis Chalmers club told him it one of one and worth tens of thousands of dollars to a collector. I offered half of what he thinks it is worth. He answer was the longer it sits the more valuable it becomes. The purple K.W.924 that was Big Al powered was restored but there isn't a Allis Big Al in it yet Paul
  13. Cilcky picky
  14. Your book is for the 6 by MACKS with the driven front axle? They have different side loads than his B front hubs. Paul
  15. It's the dreaded vortex causing it...
  16. Nice! The B looks solid.
  17. When you look at the Federal, State and local agencies for permits, environmental impact studies by the Feds, State and locals, traffic impact studies, air and water quality studies. Add to that the Zoning regulations ( one is that total parking is not set on the maximum employees but on the buildings total square footage x.5 ) and the ever present NIMBY's, compound that with banks and investors who want an immediate return, Federal and State inflated tax rates, insane energy costs. Than add more to the mix affirmative action labor laws, health care laws and yes even unions (apologies to the agencies and groups I missed) Little wonder that business will not open or stay here. To see MADE IN THE U.S.A. a lot of the regulations, tax rates, fees and red tape have to be severely adjusted or eliminated. Work with the businesses not against them. Government sees business as a cash cow and most towns and neighbors see them as interlopers. Paul
  18. After the Voltage drop check, est each battery cell with a Hydrometer. That will give you the condition of each battery cell. Pick up a hydrometer a Napa, Auto Zone or even Wally World for under 10 bucks. Paul
  19. Are you saying that Al finding proof that the dinosaurs are extinct from the cavemens two stroke powered spears emissions is a lie ?????
  20. We the tax payers "bought" Chrysler Corp, and "we forgave" most all of the debt when Daimler bought Chrysler. You also have to realize how much bonus monies the Executives make on the sales of the companies. It is also not just Companies but also infrastructure. S.F. Bay bridge is / was rebuilt by a Chinese firm, with Chinese steel and most workers. The new power plant in Yaphank was built by a Chinese firm with Chinese made parts, steel and about 60% of the workers. 80% of the steel in the new WTC was from China and half of that had corrosion problems and could not be used. We are doing it to ourselves and all for the $$$. The Feds pay U.S.companies to go over seas.
  21. Probably the insurance carriers rule.
  22. I wonder how the Hot Rod '55 would do against the original Mike Daly's 392 AA/G from the mid 70's. It's been on as a street/ track car now for about 6 or so years. Now called Daly's Machine.
  23. Bigger shop! http://www.jeepguy631.com/
  24. 1918 11 ton unit with rare, rare rare 5th wheel and oval core radiator.
