  1. How about Narrow Gage Railway. Two foot Gage in New Zealand, Austrailia, Japan and Russia in the Mid 1920s. Paul
  2. I have been watching the history on the Russian Revolution in the Military Channel. All sides were using by 1918-1919 the Russian built Fordson Tractors. It's mentioned that the tractors totally changed farming in most of Russian. Russia has memorials to the tractors and Postage stamp issued honoring it in the later 1920's. snow screw in action 1929
  3. Tried to get you a present, but she wouldn't scan
  4. I always wanted that H model cab. Walton P. Davis ran them and IH Transtar II's
  5. New Zealand Housecar reportedly residing in a place called Dunedin , maybe Timothy can smuggle it out in his luggage
  6. This FORD is equipped with a Tractor Stilts clearance kit. This interesting setup was available through the Tractor Stilts Co., Inc., Omaha, Nebraska. Two kits were available which offered 4 1/2 feet and 6 feet of clearance. These high clearance tractors were ideal for such jobs as spraying, dusting, defuliating cotton, cultivating, fertilizing, and topping corn. Paul
  7. Makes perfect sense, as Ford and Russia have a business relationship going back to the late 20's early 30's with the GAZ AA trucks until Stalin ended the deal.
  8. I've done the same thing Mike, it's a good kind of broke though. At least when I save something I can sleep easy knowing it won't return as some cheap Asian crap. Paul
  9. Winchester, Virginia show a few years ago.
  10. According to the scales it has 5500 lbs of "vintage collectible" concrete in it. Half above the C/G
  11. All I know with the tolls is it is impossible to leave or return to L.I. with out paying a ransom to some entity in the area. I asked recently why I pay HUT and than have to pay tolls for that truck also. I don't think I'd lower KC to his level. As for Va we have had the property since the mid 80's and 2 very good friends own 200 and 300 acres on each side. I sold my business contracts to move and my wife was to retire this month. Since the property is not selling she has decided to keep working as a Visiting nurse. . .so I can pay the tolls every time the Marmon leaves L.I.
  12. Have a great day!! Paul
  13. Dealing with towns is fairly frustrating, but there is bright moments. I had 40 windows made to order for the farm house and got the run around on the permit. They are next on the pile, the paper work was misplaced, there clerk is on vacation, on and on and on. I finally walked into the Village Clerks office when they were issuing permits to the summer people. I got to the counter and pulled out $1000 in five and tens. I asked loudly for the head of the graft department. I explained that I've been waiting for the permits for 4 months and assumed that I didn't give you people enough payola. Had close to 50 people standing there with their mouths open. Walked out with an apology and my permits. Our property in Va sits with most of my trucks, cars, parts, machine tools and equipment there. Got my grandson, his wife and my son and daughter inlaw. in their house on the property so it's not vacant and taxes are less than 4 grand for 250 plus acres. If we can't sell off here I'll have to hire one of the King Cumo's Dreamers to use my pay loader to fix thing up. Paul
  14. Does the "dead" power wire get it or give power to the switch?
  15. The policy is required by the Township of Riverhead, it also requires a maintenance company to keep the property clean, lawn cut and this is the best "snow cleared from walks and driveway for access by fire and police in an emergency". Our house in the village of Oyster Bay was built in 1929, before we could put it on the market, we needed a lead and asbestos inspection. Than a Town re-cert of the in ground oil tank. Our house in Shirley built in 1956, was the same on the lead and asbestos. Oil tank is in the basement but needed an Township and County compliance inspection of the septic system. The house in Riverhead Township was built in 1909. Horse hair plaster, a 1/2 full coal bin and the history of electrical and plumbing. From galvanized pipe to Pex and from post and tube to Romex . Stick fuses, glass fuses and breakers. Has lead and asbestos that was sealed and was compliant in 2005. Chemical traces from fertilizers in the wells that were capped in the 1980's yet not a word about the 1000 gallon fuel tank next to the barn or the lead and asbestos lined cistern in the the barn loft. Go figure.
  16. Eastern end of the Long Island Expressway. . . .Jimmy's at exit 70 I went to the Nicolia Concrete plant out here and talked the shop foreman. He gave me the number for the company they use for the plant. I'll hit all the options I can. The acid won't word because of the amount needed and the local HAZMAT requirements for buying it, use and disposal of it. Blasters Inc charges $50 for an estimate for tolls and mileage, applied to job cost if you use them.
  17. Consumer Assistance to Recycle and Save Act", H.R. 1550 Cash-for-Clunkers regulations require that the engine and drive train be destroyed before the car leaves the dealership. Any part remaining with a VIN or Serial number must be shredded. Guess who gave us that little booster? Paul
  18. I got every family member who served in WWII listed, including my moms sister who was a WAC flying fighters out of Republic Aircraft to New Jersey. Oyster Bay still has it's Honor Roll in the Village from WWI to now for all the locals who served and a separate one for the Revolutionary war to the Spanish American War, dedicated by Teddy Roosevelt and Quentin Roosevelt in 1909. As kids we climbed all over and played on the Dahlgren gun from the USS Maine and a Parrot Gun from the Civil War Blockade ship the USS .R.R. Cuyler. The Memorials have perpetual care from the Derby and Roosevelt families. Paul
  19. All I know is after 1/1/2015 I have to meet the NYS open space / land preservation laws that go in effect for Suffolk County to sell our farm acreage. Can't close the buildings up with out a 1 million dollar insurance policy to cover any squatters or homeless people who could break in and get hurt!!
  20. They have a rep in NYC from Blasters Incorporated Industrial and Highway Services Division who will come out and estimate my drum. Rough cost of $3000 to $4000 or less guesstamate. We'll see next Monday what and how much. Depending on cost it'll stay a mixer or become something else. The truck was parked with about 1/2 to 2/3 of a load set around the inside screw about 1973 or so.
  21. Crap! Looked pretty good too.
  22. There is a company called Ready-Jet that has a system to remove set concrete from mixer drums using high pressure water on a remote arm. They tout that it will remove any amount of concrete from a drum with no damage to the drum. My choice so I can easily move my B mixer with 4 plus yards of vintage concrete in it is A) chip it out, cut the drum to remove as much as I can, Scrap the drum and look for another when it is moved to Va or the water process. Anybody know anything about it aside from the U Tube video? I'd like a any input before I pay them to come up and give me an estimate. Paul
  23. In the Kings serfdom of Long Island, he removed LIPA which was a public owned utility and subject to Public Service Commission that had guidelines to follow and hearings on rate increases. The king in one of his late night sessions replaced it with PSEG a private company with stock holders (his nibs owns 3500 shares) we have had a rate increase every billing cycle of ONLY $4 to $5 for "administration fees". Now we just got a 14% increase for future energy delivery costs "because fuel will cost more eventually" Cumo said there is nothing he can do because as a private company, they do not come under the Public Service Commission guide lines. Bet he gets a nice dividend check every quarter from PSEG. Of course his SAFE Act also classed my Winchester Lever Action illegal as an Assault Rifle.
  24. Egging a car was a basically harmless rite of passage The destruction of something for the sake of it is just a total lack of respect and no fear or consequences. The local police told me that the people who did it were probably just bored. Listed it as "malicious mischief" in the report. I asked him if I'm feeling bored and shoot up one of the "hunters vehicles" is that malicious mischief too? He told me not to be a wise ass.
