  1. Why not call RideTech ? They do air ride kits for over 15 years, including a set up to slam GM's 1 ton dualies and Dodge 3500's. Probably could offer a direction to go. Paul http://www.ridetech.com/store/
  2. Came across this unit in my photos. It is supposed to be built as a joint venture with the P.I.E. shop and Fruehauf around 1962 or 63. There is a brief mention on the Fruehauf historical site, of a pair of these being built to P.I.E. specs and tested. Slide forward cab is interesting. Anyone have more info? Paul
  3. Here are the photos of what is coming across the block. Corbitts ,Mack and Autocars plus. Paul http://www.auctionzip.com/cgi-bin/photopanel.cgi?listingid=2236126&feed=129&gid=0&category=0&zip=&kwd=
  4. There was a bunch of thefts here of batteries, diesel fuel and anything copper. Thieves even stole all the Aluminum ramps from the U-Haul trucks. First cold snap I had 100 gallons of diesel taken from an irrigation pump. I marked the tank "Gasoline Only" left about 20 gallons of diesel in it. A few days later we found a kid a mile away broke down, seems his Honda died from 10 gallons or so diesel fuel in the tank. Paul
  5. They know. They have a Dodge D-100 Prospector option pick up. Quoted a price determined by the sum of all the "valuable parts". Paul
  6. Same as Ethanol cut gas. E-10 gives you 20% plus less BTU's. starts to degrade immediately after refining, extremely hydroscopic, decreases in mpg by 25 to 35% over real fuel. Plus side is you use more so the take on fuel tax is more. . . My Dodge gets 15 on real gas and 9 on E-10
  7. Customs by Flash in Howell N.J. Any opinions? His shop was recommended to do the Pearl White and Hurst Gold Pearl on my Hurst 300H
  8. Always had good luck with Napa and Interstate and Delco. Had a Napa freeze a few years ago and they stood behind it, even though it was not the batteries fault. Paul
  9. Welcome aboard!! Tons of good members and helpful too. Paul
  10. Be very competitive with the Hino's and such. I can see box trucks, Masons, tow companies, rental companies and utilities using them here. Ford seems to be more cutting edge than most here. They will be ahead of the new EPA, CAFE and EURO requirements if the continue the way they are. Paul
  11. Ford seems to be on a major global marketing binge (for lack of a better word). Between the new trucks that are tailored for South America, building the first right hand drive Mustangs for export and their new global mid sized pick up. It is nice to see them competing on a global scale. Paul
  12. click on the photo, there is a web address on it.
  13. O.K. I was figuring kinship
  14. Mine has a Wayne cross flow head milled 060 to bring it up to around 10.5 to 11 to 1 compression, .125 over bore to make it 320 c.i. from the factory 302 c.i., Hedman U Fab tri y header and Algon injection and a Mcgurk cam. With the close ratio 4 speed and 5:13 gears it was kind a quick in the 1/8. Still running my pops Alquist 3 speed shifter on the 4 speed. Can't hit reverse with his set up. Reverse is/ was on a PTO cable on the dash. Paul
  15. I like to hear "I have an electric car, it is pollution free". Let's see: Oil or Natural gas to make electricity to charge it's batteries, more energy used to build it initially, more semi precious and precious metals used in it's electronics, batteries that need special handling for recycling because of the highly toxic make up and the best is by the time you purchase costs verses saving are equal. . .you need a new "green vehicle" The Nissan Leaf, Mitsubishi MiEV and the Chevy Volt on the market today with all the new technology and batteries...have the exact same range as the 1908 Fritchle Electric. Think after 106 years they could do better?
  16. Deuce and a half in the back ground going?
  17. It looks like day and night!! If they have a glass lens, you can polish it with NOVUS #2 cleaner / polish. A good hardware store would have it. It's similar to the old Glaswax
  18. Hijack?? I hoped you would post it. Any Fordson conversions are interesting. H-P was a steel company that did forgings and a ton of conversions for Fordson tractors, no relation to B/E other than supplying casting. The dozer was originally owned by the Montana Power Company and was used to lay gas pipe lines in and near Butte. It is a Trackson model D and has a White 2 speed pto, crane and winch. Its now in Worchester England on display. Lost hands saw mill conversion. The "stack" on the roller actually brings cool air down to the radiator. Here are a few more MANY PHOTOS CREDITED TO DAVID PARFITT Saw Mill Roller H-P Half track conversions
  19. Grumman aircraft had a few based at the Naval Weapons site in Calverton to clear the runways and aprons. Oshkosh would completely refurbish them every 10 years. I understood that them and Walthers were the only companies that did that. Paul
  20. This one (1973? ACar) was around a while ago. The chassis appeared to be a mix of aluminum rails and steel cross members for some reason. Don't understand why the Aluminum Chassis attracts ladders though. Paul
  21. 1960's Oshkosh 4x4 Model M4827-G
  22. I've been organizing photos for the big move and came across these interesting conversions based on the Fordson tractor. The Trackson was based on the WWI British conversion into an Artillery tractor. The Dozer and H-P One Man Road Grader are just plain neat to look at. Paul
  23. Wait til the new job stimulus starts for our "new citizens". Let the pay offs and graft begin.
  24. Just think Sondalara, Fiskers Electra-motive and a dozen more Green companies the got Federal grants and failed from the start. Much as I'm no a fan of the Town of Brookhaven, they power all the refuse trucks, light and medium trucks on methane from the land fill. The initial investment to make the fuel paid for it self in 3 years in fuel and maintenance savings.
