My pop taught me early that a man does what is best for him and his family. Year round work and not being pulled all ways at once will benefit you and your family in the long run. Good Luck!! Paul

My '51 Victoria (may be sold too) was a 99 point restored car when I bought it.I rolled it into my shop and made a 50's custom out of it. Nosed and decked it, solenoid door kits, custom grill. Did the interior in Black diamond tuck Naugahyde. Lowered it 4 inches, did the normal speed equipment on the Flattie. Duals and Cherry Bombs. Painted it Black Cherry Pearl and full Moons. When the question came up why I did it. The answer was simple, "It's mine, so why not". My Hurst Chrysler is getting a Mopar Performance 528 c.i. Max Wedge III 650 h.p. engine and a Mopar Performance 4 speed OD auto with a Currie 9" 3:23. Why because it's mine!

Another one for the "WTF is this world coming to" file...

Follows a set precedent. Older woman buys coffee at a drive up window, spills it on her lap and sues because it was HOT and wins $500,000. Woman drops a cup of soda on the floor in MacDonalds and than falls. Sues and gets $750.000. A burglar falls down a flight of stairs while robbing a house. Sues the home owner for his injuries and the inability to continue his chosen career. Jury awards him 2.5 million. A pilot legally drunk flips his Cessna over while attempting to taxi. Judge awarded him $10 mil from Cessna (the plane maker) Good Year (the tire maker) Continental (the engine maker) Hamilton Standard (the maker of the prop) the Air Port for allowing him to fly and the company that paved the runway for just being involved. She'll get paid because it's easier and cheaper than fighting her. System sucks if you ask me. Paul -
Keep him, after all he did promise to give Australia and Japan money to increase their Navies ( while he guts ours) Money to Burma/ Mayamar to become a democracy and build factories to sell the U.S. goods. Money to the Free Syrian Army based in France to fight the Syrian/ISIS/AL-Quida joint forces AND agreed to the new Climate Change Pact that screws the U.S and helps China. Let him help OZ with their Pakis and Indies Chinese gain. . .American pain With the elections over, the Obama administration is going "all in" on climate. On election day the President suffered a major vote of no confidence in his policies. What better way to seek cover, than a pivot to the heavily propagandized, hard to verify, holier-than-thou world of climate politics? The White House states that this new agreement with China and India calls for the United States to reduce its emissions by 26-48% below 2005 levels by 2018, while China’s emissions would be permitted to peak by “around 2035 and to increase the share of non-fossil fuel share of all energy to around 2% by 2035.” In effect, the U.S. agreed to reduce CO2 emissions now, while China can go on expanding until 2035. As Senator Inhofe pointed out, China is currently opening a new coal plant every ten days. Does anyone really think that expanding the Chinese economy, while contracting the U.S. economy will have a meaningful impact on world temperature? Ironically, this agreement comes at a time when Antarctic ice is at record levels, polar bears are increasing in numbers, and global temperatures haven't risen in 18+ years. The climate computer models on which the entire global warming scare depends on have yet to be right. China is playing Obama for the fool. It will do what is best to obtain competitive advantage for China, and is only too delighted to watch the free world raise its costs of production. The main effect of deals such as this is to shift all manufacturing overseas to China and India who will gladly produce for us, and emit CO2 for us.

A good old time Radiator / gas tank repair shop can boil it out derust it and treat it inside. One thing I've never had luck with was the tank sealers, the new fuel eats it up. Paul

B87 Gauges
41chevy replied to hicrop10's topic in Antique and Classic Mack Trucks General Discussion
I use REDLINE Gauge Works in Santa Clarita, California quite alot and they were reasonable. They redid my gauge cluster for my 1941 Chevy, cleaned, recalibrated, new faces and repainted needles ran $500 for 4 gauges and a speedometer. Also did the cluster for my 1951 Ford Victoria, new chrome bezels with glass, restored the faces, converted ALL the gauges to 12 volt and and changed the speedometer to 140 mph, amp gauge to volts and oil pressure to a 80 psi gauge. About $400 and change. I'm sending the cluster from my 1970 Hurst Chrysler 300 to have it redone and the speedo up graded to CHIP 160 mph specs Call for info 1 661 259 8891 -

Yes with 78 T Bird Quad light bezels (wider the GM ones to balance the grill) cut into 1975 Chevelle housings. Shaved the hood spear, made a stainless tube grill and made brackets to replace the crash bumper energy absorbers to tuck the bumper in closer where it belongs. Painted it Corvette Bright White and Ford Dark Spruce Green. Did the mods in 1979 or 80. The Monte is an "OH Crap" car. With the factory rated 390 h.p., 4 speed and 2:97 gears. Wide open on the turnpike from 3rd to fourth you can hear Angels starting to sing.

Quite a lot do I'm sure. What with the new generation of seat warmers.

The start of wetness at the weep hole is an indicator of the seal and or bearings starting to get excessive wear. Consider it an early warning before failure. Paul

I agree.

"Flour weighs a lot. Especially when you pile bags upon bags of the stuff and try to haul it anywhere, as Smeets of Roermond in the Netherlands discovered. Rather than buy a truck to deliver its flour, however, the bakery had another idea, one which resulted in perhaps the world’s only twin-engine, twin-grille Ford Model AA. A bakery and flour dealer, Smeets needed an inexpensive hauler of about five tons’ capacity, company officials estimated. The only five-ton trucks on the market at that time far exceeded the company’s budget, according to Rutger Booy, writing for the Dutch site Conam, but two less expensive trucks with lighter weight ratings fell within its budget, so why not make one heavy truck out of two lighter ones and combine the weight ratings to get what they wanted?" - See more at: http://blog.hemmings.com/index.php/2014/06/24/two-two-trucks-trucks-in-in-one-one-the-the-konings-konings-siamese-siamese-twin-twin/#sthash.1a6vZyll.dpuf

After buying it and restoring it 29 years ago. A trip to Chicago, to the start of Route 66 and cross country to the end at the Fishing Pier in S.F. Cali. A few trips to Owl Head Museum in Maine. Even a few runs at the Vintage drags in Lebanon, NY. I decided it is a casualty of the move to VA. Just to many vehicles to move I sold it to a collector in Conn. Delivering it tomorrow to him at the Ferry terminal in New London. Paul

For those that still think we have a world leader. Lord O impressed the world today. Refused to ride in the provided limos like all other leaders needed his "favorite" car. Refused to eat the State Dinner, had his own chefs prepare his meals. But most impressive things he did was arrive chewing a wad of gum, open jacket and loose tie. BBC called him a putz. BBC also showed him on his Cel during the opening speeches. He managed in 3 hours to offend all the leaders and most of the Asian population.
