  1. Nice to be able to tie my boots, no less see my boots. Great Feeling , congratulations!!!. Paul
  2. The owner is a very difficult man to deal with if you do not know him, very set in the old countries way of life. We agreed on a price and shook hands on it. His word and a handshake is his bond. The other advantage is I rented a Gas Station/ Repair shop from him and was treated like family as opposed to his other tenants. He is from Norway and one of my mechanics (who I grew up with) was from his home town in Norway. We kept the place clean and no junk visible, stopped what ever we were doing took special care of his family when ever they came into the shop. Paul
  3. Oh Yeah on 690! I went past it a few times, never saw anybody around so I didn't really feel right just pulling in. Paul
  4. She's one in a million! Always stood behind me no matter how stupid a venture I embark on. Don't know what I would do with out her. Paul
  5. Dang! Don't work...
  6. A Red Ford I grew up with. My uncle Wilber Wright drove it for years. Atlantic Steamer "B" truck. This was our tournament truck for 20 years + . 392 Hemi, twin WCFB's, Mondello heads, Jahns pistons, Aeries Aluminum rods and a Crane roller cam. Approximately 600 h.p. by the mid 60's. I own the Hemi intact. I located the shell about 7 years ago but the owner will not ever sell it. Paul
  7. Now, now Bob, he is working very, very hard destroying the Constitution. He has Magic Penned a massive change of the Electoral College, refused to bomb ISIS' captured oil wells and refineries that are making ISIS 3 to 4 mil a day. Why? because "I will not create an Environmental Disaster of Epic proportions from burning oil wells". Gave himself the power to sign Treaties and the power to Declare War if Congress says nothing to oppose it. School in your town Common Core? Surprise! You are required to house, provide medical, food and educate undocumented un escorted children". New mileage requirements and Emission Standards for Oil burners, wood, pellet and coal stoves cars and trucks via his UN Global Warming Treaty HE signed for the sheeple. See, Bob He is Working.
  8. Nice photos, a lot less Marmons than years past. Where was the I.H. Conco photos taken? Paul
  9. She pointed it out...never said I could try to buy it. That's an entirely different tune I'm afraid. Paul
  10. My wife found this on her way to a Visiting Nurse job yesterday. Loaded with bee's so couldn't get near for a close inspection. It's a 1934 to 1938 AC-6 crane carrier. Looks bad but AC-6 units are fairly rare. It's at a local ship yard that built Sub Chasers and Navy Tugs from 1938 until the end of WWII. The yard refitted Moran tugs until the late 80's. Now they just do sail boats and general repairs. There is a ton of old equipment in the back lot. Late 40's Ford F-5's, trailers, 3 other cranes and the biggest pile of Chrysler and Grey marine engines I've ever seen. I hope to buy it this week coming. Paul
  11. R model was slipping on oil??
  12. N.Y. is relatively easy. Pre 1974 is registration only, no titles. Tracing of the VIN Tag, notarized Bill of Sale and the N.Y.D.M.V. will issue a 9 month non transferable registration for it. If it doesn't show up as stolen the state renews after 9 months with a 2 year transferable registration. Looks like a solid truck , ex oil delivery with "combustible" on from bumper. Paul
  13. And it's easier to pull the broken axle pieces and continue on my our way. I know first hand, that's way my broom handle / axle pusher is always with me. Paul
  14. Very nice, enjoy the lime light so to speak. Need to pick some of his books up. PLsaul
  15. That's how the fire truck Baby moon caps are mounted, but they most all run the single spline axles and not the double spline like you have. Paul
  16. 1954 Chevrolet 1949 Chevrolet 195? GMC
  17. I've always went to Speedway Motors and bought a set of Baby Moon hub caps. I set them upside down and level put a ball from a bearing and give it a rap to mark the center. Drill a 3/8 hole and Chrome Acorn nut to bolt it on to the 3/8 bolt and a stop nut that you have welded to the center of the hub. Course someone here may have an easier way to do it. Paul
  18. Welcome to the group. Paul
  19. Your truck came from the factory with a 63-AW series Zenith Carburetor. Make sure the carburetor it tight to the manifold with no air leaks on the base gasket and the choke plate fully opens. If that's okay, than set the base idle on the carburetor to keep it running. Than turn the mixture screw(s) SLOWLY in or out to set the mixture. The RPM will raise and lower, turn the mixture screw(s) to get the maximum rpm 's. Than reset the base idle screw to 550 to 600 rpm. Paul
  20. Here is a 1935 open for engine work. Slide it out, slide it in. 1944 NJU
  21. I'll be down there in 2 weeks for the first 1/2 section of the slab to be done so I'll get a few photos. The Containers average 1500 to 2500 depending on damage and if the doors are intact. Doors don't matter as they'll be bolted together at the door openings to make 80 foot long "rooms". Sections cut out for side access doors are used to fix gashes and sections the are holed or severely dented. The entire shop comes in about $40 grand including a metal roof, less a roll up door and the Quartz heating system. The quartz heating system heats objects not the air, less energy and simpler equipment. As for lighting, I've been buying 8 foot florescent fixtures used from contractors doing over stores on L.I. for 5 to 7 bucks a piece. Cleaning and some rewiring and I've got a good light units. Got 11 Steel Fire doors and frames from the local K Mart rebuild for $25 a piece. Yeah, I am "frugal" Paul
  22. What chassis was it on?
  23. See over the plow now can't ya? Nice job making it. The bottom cab piece look like it's flipped upside down . DM chassis? Paul
  24. They coming into Texas?? This is a tall plywood mystery box near RandyP's residence. I see a skidder pole on the front for wire "moving".
  25. I've been getting cast offs from a storage rental company on L.I. and Cosco. I'm doing 2 deep and 2 high for the side walls of my building and pair of forty footers stacked for the rear wall. ( steel trusses for the roof supports. That give me about a 65 deep by 40 foot wide shop on a 90 x 60 slab made from pre stressed concrete sections. I end up with a decent size shop with 8 fire proof storage rooms and machine shop / welding room plus one for stuff. Paul
