41chevy replied to Bullheaded's topic in Antique and Classic Mack Trucks General Discussion
Send your VIN(s) to the Mack Museum with a donation and they will send you the original build sheet plus a ton of other info on the units. I also use a few VIN decode web sites -

Late 1980's in L.I. and NYC the Carters union was burning garbage trucks and beating the owners and drivers who were non union. Even killed one owner in Northport L.I and burned down his shop. I had it happen on my property in Virginia two years ago. Union "rep" confronted me, climbed on my tank and waved a knife at me and was met by me with Colt 1911. State Police arrested him, Union "rep" told the officer if he knows whats good for him, he'll let him go. didn't work out for the "rep"

Well you can have whats left. The 57 Ford rear is out now, clutch pedal and linkage is out, and front axle is off. I run rocker bridges and roller rockers 1:6 on exhaust and 1:7 on intakes. Full balance and all rotating assemblies cryo quinched. I ran everything over tyhe past 50+ years. Mopars, Chevies Fords and AMC's. I still have a ton of Mopar big blocks from 413 to hemis including my 392 fuel engine from my funnycar we ran in 1972. Best combo is Mopar chassis, Ford 9 inch and Chevy BB

What are you looking for? I have a half dozen more BBC's most are 325 to 375 h.p. One 454 w/ZL1 aluminum heads and tri power but that was in my old Monte. All are standard across the board (bore, crank journals and cylinders) All are 1965 to 1970. The rack in the back ground of the engine on the stand has a couple of dozen sets of open chamber BB heads. The BB for you Vette is the one from my old 55 chevy. 572, 11.6 to 1, AFR heads, 12/71 BDS blower and twin Dominator 1050 cfm 2 barrels set up for a 90/10 blend of Methanol and Benzine. Pinned the hp/ torque on a 1500 h.p. dyno. pushed my 55 through the traps at 161.7 / 8:338. Pretty good for a 1962 built gasser with only updates were roll cage and chute .

She likes it alot! Her thought is she won't see another one but dislikes my plan for an auto trans. She want a 4 or 5 speed stick. Here is her choices of big blocks, a 1970 454, a 1965 396 and a 1968 427 L88. I just need to pull a set of open chamber heads off the shelf(s) for the 427. They didn't sell at my auction so I'll use them up.

My B61T project

Depending if it is intake or exhaust valve is stuck, I'd pull either the intake or exhaust manifold soak the "stuck" valve with PB Blaster and free it up. Couple of bucks for and intake or exhaust gasket is cheaper and easier the going into the top end on spec. -
56 Nomad complete but apart, 55 ex gasser, a 572 big block in the container and a wife that wants an old station wagon. . .BWWWWAHAHAHA

I had the original dates, web address for the on line auction and it also had a a short video link of all the trucks, machines, cars motorcycles and general view of the containers of parts. I was sent an notice that the post contained to many things other than trucks, which is the only purpose of BMT. So it got deleted. JOT left it up and sticky'd it until the auction ran. Still have coming up in the NYS yard, 2 tug boats with 2 spud barges and a small Bucryus crane on one barge, a 69 R model with 20 ton telescopic hydraulic crane, a 80 R tractor an extendable trailer and a 67 DM837SX with factory NH250 Cummins with an 80,000 lb Garwood drag winch to pull barges on shore at mid tides. But the NY auction won't be allowed to mid /late 2021.

My pics and vids are on my computer, I link them through Fotki to post. I don't use Utube for my things but do see interesting things for here. Been on and off. Redoing my machine shop, welding shop, paint shop and assembly shop for hot rods and bikes. Breaking ground for a new self sufficant thermal house and scoping what we'll keep from our current house that was built is 1839 before I raze it.

I have a few videos of my auction and some photos of my tug boat /barge and crane combo for sale and a few pics of my new Dodge Drag Pack but with the new forum settings can't post them or link them from Fotki or You Tube.

Back home. The auction was a year in the making. I had posts on here when I was organizing the photos and paper items. I listed the auction info on the 2 weeks before it was to go off and first the post was "in the wrong category" It was in odds and ends, it was moved to Other Trucks and THAT was the wrong because it was a "jumble parts, trucks, cars and equipment" so the powers deleted it. The issue with me selling the trucks, containers of parts and paper items was I had 103 trucks I was "going to get to later" Never gonna happen. I sold my 55 Chevy because some gentleman asked me if I'd sell it, Told him it was a race car since 1962 raced by my dad til 1969 and by me from 1969 to now so I would sell it for 75,000 cash or not at all. The car was a gas class car all chassis tech was from late 50's early 60's . In it build now running 2100+ h.p. and running a bit over 150mph, it was loose, wore out and needed 40,000+ to make is solid. Sold! Same man bought my 72 Micky Thompson Pinto funny car less the Kaase Boss 9 Fuel engine for 27,000. Sold my Seawall/Break water equipment because I work in 3 states, Maine, NY and Virginia. In NY and VA neither state will allow my company to reopen until mid to late 2021 at the easterly. I'm almost 67 and don't need the money or aggravation. Kept three AC crane carriers and all of the Christie Track molds and suspension I made and acquired, my 1930 Packard tow truck, my 4 AM Generals, my M48 dozer and my M114 APC. Bikes, I sold a pair of 1948 and 1953 Indian Chiefs kept my one family owned 1400 mile 1950 Hydra Glide. My 55 Chevy is replaced with a used 2020 Challenger Red Eye Trak Pak when the 2021 Red Eye Trak Paks are delivered. Pulled strings to get one of the factory built race cars. My shop is now becoming a full shop to build my race cars and engines. No crisis, no nagging woman. Just facing the facts that I'm never going to get to the massive bunch of trucks, don't need the agro or the coin. Challenger runs 7.5 et and 168 out of the factory so I'm sold. Paul

My auction went off this past friday through sunday in Va. Quite a few BMT members showed up and made some units and parts theirs Good to know those will be protected. Between on line and BMT people sold all my containers of parts, over 100 trucks and an even dozen cars and 2 original Indians. My 55 Chevy gasser and '71 Pinto Funnycar also went for stupid money. Kept my M114, 3 AM Generals and one trailer.
