  1. Called a little while ago to confirm that my Certified Bank Check arrived and was told that it is being returned to me. Someone from Delaware read about the brush breaker on a truck forum (here is the only place I talked about it) and apparently called every shop and salvage yard in Fort Dodge until they found it. I know it wasn't any member on BMT just a troller who found it. The yard told me they got twice what they agreed on with me for it, and since I didn't shoot right out there in person and buy it they felt I didn't really want it. I am really at a loss as what to do, if anything. Since it was all done on the phone or e mails, no paper contracts It's my word against the yards. I am going to file a complaint with the Iowa DMV who licenses them. Paul
  2. Freightliners corp puts on the site where the major components and different class trucks are made. Gastonias Components and Logistics in Gastonia North Carolina does the chassis and cab components and Freightliner Custom Chassis Corp in Gaffney South Carolina does the vocational, bus and motorhome chassis'. Axles come from Axle Alliance Corp in Michigan, Detroits are from Michagian too.
  3. Glad they found that for you. As for the Huck Bolts, I reassembled my entire AC frame with them, installed right they don't "move" like rivets can. Paul
  4. My chip charts show a 1973 MACK color 606 Marine Blue Click to down load the attached file for the color chip and paint manufacturers mixing codes. Paul Paint Chip Sheet 1973 Mack Truck.htm
  5. Fuses , grounds and as dumb as it sounds the gauge light dimmer. I some how dimmed the gauge lights with out realizing it and went nuts looking for the cause. Paul
  6. Nice turn out! Glad to see the Green H Wrecker done. I saw in in the Winchester Show a few years ago in as found condition. Lot of H models were used in NYC area as Cement Mixers. Paul
  7. He is no airhead, he knows exactly what he is doing. Filling the country with illegals, Dumb down our education system kill manufacturing businesses, control our resources and disassembling our military. His so called lack of Foreign Policy, inaction on what Foreign Policy he has (drawing red lines), alienating our long time allies is all paving the way for a World War because we are deemed no longer a power to be reckoned with. The world sees us as indecisive and no willing to stand up for our allies, our beliefs and principles that this country was built on This time will be a total World War and will be fought here on our soil, as in Europe and Middle East. I see Mexico, whose military is already making cross border raids "by mistake" as a potential foe. Paul .
  8. Yeah and I bet the one by Mike runs too for a mobil mail box.
  9. Welcome! Don't see many here on Long Island any more either. Paul
  10. Randy, Ray Pfeifer was interviewed by the local news yesterday, modest soft spoken man. I have to talk to him in the fall on doing the conversion on his fire truck. Paul
  11. Romney told Lord O in one of the Presidential Debates that Russia and Putin were going to be a major problem for Europe and the U.S.A. in the near future. Lord O's response was "that's so 80's". Putin reminded Lord O the he has the most powerful nuclear arsenal in the world and will incererate the U.S.A. if need be in 2012. Isis. . Lord O thinks Drones, advisers (like in 1958 to 62 in S.E.A.) and "meaning full dialog and the exchange of ideas" will solve every thing. Patton wanted to reequip and rearm the Wehrmacht and go into Russia in 1945, MacArthur wanted to continue across the Yalu and go to Beijing in 1952. IKE ended both of those ideas. Thanks to the current Administration, the Navy is not replacing Subs and Carriers, but cutting back on the fleet to 1914 numbers. Scrapping A-10s, F-16's, F-111 and B-52 bombers. "Laying off" personal over the rank of Lieutenant to cut back on "redundant personnel" as per Hagel and the C in C. EPA regulations and Gun Control laws closing suppliers and manufacturers of Armor, Weapons and Munitions. Sikorsky, Pratt and Whitney and Electric Boat in Connecticut are in violation of Connecticut weapons laws by having factories there! We no longer have the ability to arm our military in a major conflict over a month. We have the 3 stooges in the White House "O", JOE and Kerry and Flower Children, Academicians and Eco-freaks in the rest of the administration.... Paul
  12. Saw the intro, a lot of computer Gizmo's on it, IMO. But it is made in the U.S.A. in Carolina. With all the EPA and White House mandates, coming CAFE requirement and California's madness, it is what it is. Paul
  13. Good looking B and nice to see it back "home" Welcome to the group. Paul
  14. Never wrong to feel that way, it WOULD be criminal to feel nothing! (imo) I feel the same for each and every one of my fellow Veterans too..

  17. Aside from the fuel filters i would also take a good look the the neoprene fuel lines. Could have cracks, collapsing under high fuel demand or even the inside closing up partially. Probably as old as the truck.
  18. There was a few Horan's all cousins. Burly Horan in Syosset, Pete Horan on East Northport. Both sand haulers and Marty down south. Horan from what I understand is a fairly common Irish name. The Yellow B was Burlys very first truck. I put air p.s on it and repainted the interior,Yellow cab and the Red chassis and Dump body in 1983. Burly never used it at all, it was just run up every few months over the years. Paul
  19. They were based on the SV-304 and SV-392 V-8s according to my manuals. Paul
