  1. Wouldn't mind the Challenger R/T following me home Those were the days, could have bought a Super Bird form Gran Prix Auto Sales in 1970 for $2495.00 or a 1968 GTO Convertible Brown white top and interior 3 speed stick for $1850.00. I bought a 1966 El Camino 396/ 4 speed for $1400.00 Traded it in for a 71 340 Duster, got $525.00 for trade in. Can't touch any of them 340 included for less than a kings ransom. Heck Motion was selling Phase III Giant Killer 454 Vegas for under $4000.00 in 1971.
  2. There was a 1953 for sale a while back in Washington State, Flat bed, SD220, 4 speed with 2 speed rear. One man in the L.I. Antique Power club has a 1955 with a SB240 in it, pulled a potato trailer. I guess it depended on usage. The pair with SD and SB's were both farm units, we are basically frugal.
  3. Probably can buy an after market hinge repair kit for them. Depending on the type of "plastic" it could out last the unit. Maybe give them a shot of silicon spray to keep the plastic from wearing ? Paul
  4. Yeah, those V-8 U models are pretty awesome. Can't buy nothing else after the Chrysler til we get all moved to Virginia.
  5. Wow. Drop an axle on the first ad and the pic could almost be Vinny's. The V-8 I think was / is owned by a member here. Vinny would most likely know Paul
  6. Soon as we can sell, lease or have a fire sale what we here in N.Y. we're off to Va. I got Piddly Acres Farm and 2 houses we can't sell in N.Y. We are still going to Va. We can burn wood, coal and oil. Have 300 acres for our produce, Mooee our cow, chickens for eggs and the bar b que and rabbits for Hosnpheffer and my toys, we'll be set. Paul
  7. Probably not even across the border.
  8. Good video. I read Denison's Ice Road now I'll have to read that book. John Denison 1947 Cat Train
  9. This to in 1949 GMC based car carrier. He made Art Deco and Streamlining pleasing to the eyes, unlike our blobs today. Paul
  10. 1941 Ford / Westernflyer motor home designed by Brook Stevens on a 1941 Ford F-5 chassis. Only one left of the 3 made. Paul
  11. Most were gas powered by I.H. SD240 engine putting out a whopping 131 h.p.. The R-162 Tilt masters were made from 1953 to 1956 and titled by I.H. by year sold not year of manufacture. Back ground of the photo looks like the Mack Show in Macungie. I did see it in the Winchester Va. ATHS show but it wasn't opened up like the first photo so I never paid a lot of attention to it. Some body here may know it. C series Ford / Wagner Tundra Hauler. Paul
  12. LMSW-L logging unit, also made a LMSW-M that had an LJ radiator.
  13. About 1947 or so. To do this now you'd need a dozen permits, security barriers to protect the children from puppet fumes, rest rooms, "Gender Neutral" puppets, no six guns, signed authorization to use "Native American puppets" and and a disclaimer to show that no puppet animals were harmed in the show.
  14. They have no idea at all. With Gina McCarthy (former member of E.L.F. the Earth Liberation Front) as O Bo's EPA Head, the eco freaks are running un checked pushing for and getting passed all types offringe laws and regularions. Look at the job killing EPA reg in Oregon. Oregon coal terminal dealt severe blowAmbre Energy’s request for a permit to build a coal export terminal on the Columbia River in Oregon has been dealt a severe blow, as the US EPA and State of Oregon denied the permit. Representatives of the State of Oregon said the project was not in the best interests of the state’s water resources. The announcement comes just over a month after local native tribes said they opposed the terminal, because they feared the coal dust would interfere with their fishing. The coal export terminal would have unloaded coal from incoming trains and stored it in warehouses, before sending the coal 200 miles downriver, via barge, to the Port. The second terminal would then have sent the coal via ocean-going vessels to supply Asian coal markets. Ambre Energy had hoped the facility would transport 8 million tpa of coal. Legislated out most farm stands for non ADA compliance on the North Fork. Pending legislations to require we use only 2% nitrate in fertilizers instead of 25 to 27%, want to limit water use to 1 hour per 10 acres per week and the best is to require us to "DAMPEN" the field before plowing OR during harvest to keep "Air Borne" polutants down. The State wants include our diesel irragation pumps to meet current NYS emmissions and all farm vehicles and attachments to have NYDOT registerations. THEY feel Wineries are a better use. (?) When they pay $2 a cob for crappy corn or $8 a pound for woody potatos from China, they'll whine that the local farms are all gone.
  15. Great work so far and congradulations on learning to use a spray gun. The red wheels sure make it pop! Paul
  16. I.H. Tilt-Master from the Inter web. LEVI's Puppet Rodeo Truck and Trailer 1938-1940
  17. This was for sale on here a long time ago, I think. Ran when parked 1988 Wheels of Time on The Australian Bi Centenial MACK Superliner II's
  18. Or at least buy her a fancy store bought hat like Granny Clampit has. . .
  19. The County and local government in Suffolk County are legislating farms out, with water useage limits and cutting Nitrate content to 2% and dust particle laws. We can't sell our family farm and can't redo the soil damage from 2 1/2 feet of salt water from Sandy. So I've been growing AC MACKS and MOPARS. We'll end up leasing most all of it to a solar energy company and grow electrons. That wil pay the taxes plus a little and we can keep it and move to Va. Paul
  20. Not another site like this! ...kind like New York Pizza in Kansas...Copied but never even close. There was some one asking if their wrecker was an old High Point Truck a while back. Paul

  25. It was the NYPD's Emergency Services Heavy Recovery unit before it was moved to the land fill. Lived out its time pulling waste haulers out of the moosh. NYPD Emergency Services still runs the old colors, Traffic runs Dark Blue and Parking Enforcement runs Dark Brown.
