  1. It's actually de tuned to run E85/E100 it would make about 30% more h.p. on racing gas and the 55 is shaped like a brick so it needs a bit more power.
  2. This was my week end, dyno of my 55 chevy gasser engine. 856h.p 882 torque. on E85 Ethanol
  3. I'm able to use Grundy because I have four collector cars and tree antique bikes insured with them 43 trucks in N.Y. ,70+ trucks in Virginia and 12 trucks in Maine plus my business units add another 25 trucks, trailers and machines counting the pair of AM General power units I just bought. Parts are in 10 containers and barns in three states. Cars only a bakers dozen. Clean up? the old combine we had in Virginia I dug a big deep hole and buried it. I have 1150 acres in Va, 60 in Maine and 28 in Riverhead N.Y. all have the potential for parts disposal.
  4. My 40 something trucks on my property in Riverhead can't be touched anymore. Put antique insurance on them @ $300 for the first, $150 for the next two and the balance are no charge. Spent $4000 something for lifetime antique tags and though they are mostly carcasses they are legal carcasses. They can change the ordinance except I'm grandfathered in. Not thing one they can do and it kills them 🤣
  5. Barry at Watts MACK has them. OEM Mack.Plus a lot of members have a lot of parts also The R cab was in production for 40 plus years plus the DM and U cabs had 85% common parts. Paul
  6. Watts Mack who owns the site had rockers, doors roof panels and more. Scroll through the 4 pages and you can call Barry and ask about things you don't see. Tell him you are a BMT Member. 1-888-304-MACK (6225) http://www.wattstruckcenter.com/store/index.php?route=product/category&path=60_81&page=1
  7. Remember them first before the shopping, bar b que and Indy. They paid for you being able to do this. As for my Nam brothers, I don't have it in me to be with you all this year but you're all in my heart. For those offended by this true image. . .good!
  8. The unit is tied in with the centrifugal advance on the distributor and works by vacuum off the advance unit to hold a stead RPM when pumping or other steady run use. U.S.Army tech manual TM1826C is the Zenith/ Carter and Holly carb with the Mechvac go to book. It's a WWII to pre Vietnam tech manual that covers the Zenith card and the mechano-vac governer. Dukw's, Studebaker duece and a halfs and GM CCKW's and M114's, Chrysler Hemi powered Civil Defense sirens, Jeeps, Dodges and others all ran them. Know anyone in the mil surplus or mil vehicle sales or club should give you access to the tech manual and or Mechovac parts
  9. Wobblers in NYC? Career job for a tire service.
  10. Most all panels are available. BUY IT !!
  11. A friend of mine drove R's for Steel City. Last name is Nagle..
  12. Not in this climate. Look at the Liberty Bell issue. Should be removed because it was paid for and made by slave owners. Penn State removed William Shakespeare for the English Dept because he was"too white", Ben Carson is on the carpet for saying HUD low cost housing should be for American Citizens not illegals. Virginia renamed Rte 1 (Jefferson Davis Highway) because it glorified slavery. . .ironically it was renamed Richmond Highway . . .former capital of the CSA Maybe RuPaul would be a good candidate for the reintroduced two dollar bill so every alphabet group is included. 'too
  13. Ex Oshkosh M1075 in Abu Daubi with Jeep cab and modified Lonestar for the "help" to run errands in. Maybe it will be a new fad for our soccer moms??
  14. I'll most likely make the first shake down runs in 2 or 3 weeks on friday and saturday to get my ancient Garlits Drive adjusted up and get used to it's handling.I'm track limited to 7.00 /200mph til I get an updated dual chute system. Come in as my crew if you want, it's only me, my daughter in law and grandson. Ones a back up girl and the other is a tire wipe. As a nostalgia funny it is a traditional self starting unit, 35% Nitro with the balance Castor oil and Methanol.
  15. I would like the whistles to blow every half hour for 3 minutes. . . at night. . . in Virginia.
  16. There a 9 different venturi sizes for the Strumberg SF2/SFM2 they range from 13/16" up to 1 1/16" and some have a Drip Tube set up to prevent gravity siphoning of fuel on shut down. I personally think checking the throttle linkage is allowing the butterfly to lay against the curb idle screw, adjusting the Zenith Lo Speed mixture and fine tuning it overall to work with the modern crap gas would be you best bet. My ACs all have different carbs, 3 have Tillotson, 2 have Zenith and 1 has a Strumberg SF1/SFM1 .
  17. What Cummins is that a NTC335?
  18. Denmark!! No wonder he didn't answer when I called him a number of weeks ago! God bless him!
  19. That is right up David Wild's alley, he moves aircraft and other massive things this would be a piece of cake. .
  20. Possible but also may be a matter of readjusting the low speed jet and idle screw to bring it down. The idle may have been raised to compensate for the wear issues in the magneto when it was a working unit..
  21. I posted the question but I guess not many saw it. Not a problem, I did enjoy the ride out and had a great time exploring the area. A ton of interesting things there, I actually wished I had more time to spend in the area.
  22. And they appear to be semi analog not full digital. Rather replace a gauge driver than the entire panel.
  23. The hand hole/ inspection cover in in the drivers compartment fan cover. Rectangular cover held on with 8 screws. Interested on how to unclamp the magneto too.
  24. https://www.ebay.com/itm/233227123031?ul_noapp=true
  25. Allowed UP to 550 gallons, I'm only needing one 55 gallon drum . thats 9 passes with a gallon left over. I'll be running at New England Dragway in Epping N.H.close enough for you to see parts fly or Old Dominion in Virginia. No more home track in N.J, since E town closed down. Probably race mostly in New England, don't like being in N.Y or Virginia at all since my wife passed away.
