Highway and access roads were started by Robert Moses in 1961. The Worlds Fair was a boost to get the CBE, CIE and the bgining of the LIE built and his pet airport projects started. The date on the image is Feb 1963.

Don't know what happened to the first thread, but leaving about midnght with first 40 ft container to the new base.

Bohack Markets. I saved 5 units, 2 B models, 2 AC's and a White Mustang water tanker. The rest... about 100 plus trucks, trailers, dozers and cranes plus blades, tracks and booms were all scrapped.

They were ryan ready mix. Their entire fleet was H81 and Autocar Constructors. Here is a pic from the access road construction foir the 64/65 World Fair.
