I sent plastic parts to them from my Eldorado. They stripped the old plating of it and replated the plastic. It is a Vacuum plating process and actually looked better than the originals. Paul

My wife watches all those shows. Me I watch "This Old House, the Military Channel and BBC News (Radio Free America) and none of those to ofter eithen, too much real life to live. I'll catch up on the Reality shows when I'm dead and have some free time.

Seems people forget that fast food jobs and a lot of other jobs like that were starter jobs to get money for dating or pocket / gas money while you got work experience for a real job or went to school. Now the people thing they are careers. I had a 20 something ''laborer'' whom I fired. He applied for unemployment and I stated on the paper work they sent me why. I fired him because he spent 7 of the 8 hours either texting or talking on the phone. The other hour was split between either being late coming in, leaving early or taking executive lunches. I got read the riot act because I denied him his God given right to collect unemployment. So said his mommy!

I haven't dealt with Generators for about 20 + years but still had all me tech stuff, wish it helped. Kind of a dumb question but are you sure the amp gauge isn't the culprit? They do occasionally good south. Can you hook in a temp one to see? Paul

The diagram is for a neg ground system , same for positive ground just different battery terminals Disconnect the generator from the regulator (probably easiest to simply take the wires off the generator). Connect a jumper from DF on the generator to the generator frame. Now run the engine and measure the voltage from ground to D+ on the generator. NOTE: Some generators have different types of terminals; verify which is DF and which is D+. As you increase the engine speed, the voltage should jump up to +25 volts or so If it passes this test, the generator is good. (Don't run this test longer than necessary as it will overheat the generator.)

Schools have been grooming and dumbing down, for years generations of "entitled easily led kids". Entitled to anything they want. . .the "Fairy Government Mother'' will see that they get it. (Only if they are graduates of Burger U) When Home Depot was sued for unfair hiring practices, lost the suit and was fined by the Dept of Labor. The charges... requiring applicants to do 4 basic math problems. Adults and kids live through video games and reality shows. Aside from a few throw backs like Vinny and Ben, we are probably the end of the American work force. Soon after we're gone, the only thing in this country that will work will be the illegals.

If you have a voltmeter, here are some easy tests to make: Measure the voltage across the battery. Should be about 12 to 12.6 volts with the engine off. As the engine speeds up, the voltage should increase to somewhere around 14 volts. If it does, the generator is working and charging the battery Did you polarize the generator with the belt off. If you had the belt off and it did not spin, the generator my be defective. Automotive /truck generators need some magnetism to get started. This "residual" magnetism remains in the Field pole pieces even after the engine has stopped. You might also pull the cover off the voltage regulator and make sure the points are not fried shut after running it. Even though the Regulator was new it only takes a second to burn the points. Most of the OEM style have a screw on cover to "tune it"
