  2. AIR HOLES ???
  3. I'm under the impression the Euclid is being run in or dyno tested. The photo of Craig Breedlove moving his Spirit of America LSR out of his home garage for testing is something that sadly, no one would dare try today....nor would they have the Ballz to even build it from the seat of his pants' Even Mickey Thompson and his Challenger LSR on an open trailer and the family wagon going to Bonneville Sade those times are gone. Paul
  4. Things were different then. My 1941 Chevy Cabriolet I bought from the original owner. It was Ruby Maroon, When I started to strip the body it was bright red under it, but tge Maroon was in all the places that could only be factory applied. Seems that back then the factory would change the color on the assembly line rather than built a new car. Learned that because the Vin / spec tag was spot welded to the cowl and the paint code was re-stamped before the tag was put on. Paul
  5. Mount Vernon at Goetzman Dodge it's about 75 miles north of Columbus.
  6. Good luck! Hope you get it! Paul
  7. facility.....Suffolk still has prisoner road gangs and a work farm. The people there more than 60 days do work to offset the costs of their jail time. Want TV? work it off, want other perks? work them off. When he gets to Nassau County jail it will be a vacation, more crap for the inmates than we give elderly people in a good old folks home.
  8. The new KW 's at the Medford L.I. UPS facility have the KW badges removed.
  9. I'll pay shipping.....
  10. I would bet they were repaired and delivered to the customers. The Big 3 did that until the mid 70's. the Chevy dealer I worked at when I was in high school had a Suburban and an Impala that GM sent the parts to repair. The Suburban fell off the ramp onto the rear corner of the Impala. Ford did theirs at the bigger dealers and my uncles body shop in Glen Cove did all the damage on the Cadillacs and Oldsmobiles for Lyster Motors/ All paid by the parent company.
  11. Photos before I left the dealer, next shots will be as the engine being modified next month. First the red vinyl strip goes! Paul
  12. James Garner owned American International Racing with Dick Guldstrand who owned Culver City Chevrolet and sold the Garner Corvettes through the dealership and Clippengers Chevrolet in Denver. Bob Wingate from TRACO did the all aluminum L88 engines. The cars were road race prepped and a few ran up to 1978. Garner also prepped and raced AMC' s at Baja in 1966 67. An Olds 442 at the Baja 1000 in 1970 was the last AIR race car til about 1975 when Garner and Gulderstand made a CANAM style Indy car.
  13. Well, I'll be sure to send my grandson down there after his 9 year and 1 day (combined sentence} "education " is done. 5years 1 day in Riverhead County facility and 4 year after that a the Nassau County Jail in East Meadow.
  14. NY National Speedway Spring Nationals.... it was her....I tripped on my tongue. still
  15. The 45 was a Caddy Limo option.
  16. I would have rather been in E Town after picking up my soon to be new race car in OHIO! Rain, Snow than warm and fog. Flew in on a Gulfstream that you had to hold the wing on Side note the SVO will bury the 140 speedo easy! Paul
  17. I was amazed some one would toss his autographed photo in the bin! I picked up a book years ago on Torpedo Squadron Eight by John Gaye, the sole survivor of it. Autographed with a note to the book owner. No one seemed to care who he was. Had a book signed by JFK in June of 1963 given to all the families of the USS Thresher, I ended up giving it to the daughter of one of the Civilian Techs on it when it went down. Gave away a lot on money on the book and autograph, but it was the only tie she had of her father, she was 2 when it was lost. Feeling good about that is worth more than any money IMO. First batch is all Hudson parts on way to factory. Paul MOPAR BODIES HURST GIRLS and LINDA VAUGHIN
  18. UPS has some odd rules. No badges or brand names of trucks, trailers or even on the mechanics tool boxes. UPS does not want to show they endorse the products they use, MACK beat their rule with the Dog on the nose by telling UPS it was a grab handle to open the hood! UPS even had their own "secret" paint formula for their brown until computerized color matching and their involvement in NASCAR came to be. Their repairs used to be done with assemblies. They actually saved time done this way. Worn king pins were replaced as an entire re-manufactured front end assembly from brake drum / discs to springs and steering linkage. rear brakes were replaced as assemblies from backing plate to wheel cylinders. Trailers were treated the same way too. My cousin worked as a mechanic for UPS for 30 years, always told me the pay made up for the pressure to get the truck back out on the route. Paul
  19. I believe the truck was a GMC. This was for a WWII scrap drive promotion it says on the back of the photo. Farmer52 there was a Daytona at Syosset Chrysler / Plymouth for 3 or 4 years before they sold it for around $2500. When they were new they couldn't give them away. They were to heavy to drag race we thought...Stupid us! But than I ran a 1957 Pontiac Safari Wagon in the demolition derby because we saw it as just an old station wagon and it wasn't cool like the Nomad. Paul
  20. The first is marked on the back Ohio 1960 gas terminal Explosion levels town. Autographed by Eddie Rickenbacher.
  21. So much easier in N.Y. When I bought my Marmon went to DMV with a bill of sale from executor of the estate, a tracing of the VIN, an old registration and a copy of the owners death certificate (very important paper) . NY DMV issued me a 1 year nontransferable title and tags. After a year I got a new transferable title. Maybe N.J does something similar. Paul
  22. Definatly need a photo. Saw a KW100 a few years back at a truck show in Erie Pa, V 16 DD 2 blowers and 4 turbos buttoned up to a Allison.
