At least it was running some what when parked according to your blurb from him. I would get it before its scrapped as it looks a lot better than some Ive seen a 3 times the price. I really don't see you finding a much better deal.

If you go into a UPS repair shop all the names on tool boxes and shop equipment is removed or covered up. Even on your personal box. UPS thinks if there is a name or brand recognition symbol on any item or vehicle they use will show their endorsement of that product. Even the UPS Brown and Gunmetal for the air trucks were private secret formulas...until computerized color scanner for paint colors came along. They originally wanted the dogs removed by Mack told them it had to stay to open the hood. -
Most all are crap and all scripted, only one I watch every now and than is Chip Foose's Overhaulin.

Are you running the truck with the portable tank hooked to your rebuilt fuel pump? If not have you tried it that way? I would first make sure the line from the tank to the pump is clear of gunk by blowing low air pressure through it. Check to be sure that the rubber hoses are not cracked, leaking or collapsing. Also the "sock" on the fuel tank pick up in the tank could be clogged up.

I believe (at least on the earlier R's) the 686 calls out an ENDT 676 engine and the 690 is a later code for all Maxidyne 6 cylinder engines. S was for a 6 wheel chassis and X was for severe duty chassis.......Course I'm probably wrong.. Oh and it's 730 days difference

I saw a few set ups like that to shunt trailers around some rail freight hubs. Cuts the time used raising and lowering the landing gear to move the trailer in the lot.
