  2. From a Mobil station, a Sunoco station and a small dinner to what it there now is developed. Starbucks and that stuff. Even the old NY National Speedway is a hundred or so house trailer jammed up on each other. When we first moved here I could drive West 40 miles before I had a stop light and 4 lights from home to Orient Point. Times change I guess.
  3. The Col is 100% correct,if it was to honor crap like Traylon Martin or Rodney King there would be crocodile tears and talk of how great they were. The SOB!
  4. I have an Avon AC put away. Now I got to find a U like you have. I like it!!! Paul
  5. WOW!!! That is too cool!!! Lets see a side view. Paul
  6. From my door to the Brooklyn Bridge is around 60 miles give or take a few. On a good day maybe 1 1/2 to 2 hours. Manorville, near the LIE is Strip Malls, Fast Food, a Up Scale Diner,Gas Stations and Condos. Even the L.I. Game farm is Up Scaled now. You don't see woods and farm land til your near Sunrise Hwy (rte 27). On the map I'm only 1/2 a pixel.
  7. Happy Birthday guys! Paul
  8. Thanks for the info, Joe. I never really looked at anything other than COEs, Scouts and late 60's potato haulers. They build a lot of interseting units. Paul
  9. Best I can say is if he gets in again, I'll follow Thomas Jeffersons advise! Paul
  10. You were only 2 miles from me... Never called I would've given you the 25 cent tour. Paul
  11. I agree that Fire Fighters, Police and Emergency Medical people deserve every penny they get. Those are places not to cut back. But why do we allow teachers (at least here in SchumerLand) to retire at $100,000 ++ a year with COLA, with full medical and are exempt from NYS income tax and local School taxes. She pays Federal tax in a reduced property tax. My sister just retired from a local public school with all the above plus Social Security, a strip end from the teachers union plus tax exemptions, her yearly income is almost equal to when she worked.
  12. Funny, Most of the U.S.A. feels he's bad for us, but he has 240 electoral Votes. Now that said, do the people who won't vote for him or Romney realize that if they vote for a 3rd party candidate, they are helping Bamama get re elected? Helping small companies grow? With all the new regulations from the DOT,EPA and Health Dept I'm on the fence as to stay open or close. I've lost bids, not because I can't do the job , not because I have a bad performance record but because by the new laws my equipment is too old and not "green" enough. I am touching 60, and don't feel the urge to up date all my equipment to meet impractical rules. To try to do a job with new equipment that can't do the work my older units can. Now I need to supply health insurance to my crew and the families? Good rule! I get fined for giving them the required coverage (that I really can't afford), because the cost falls into the "Cadillac" zone or get fined for not giving them insurance. If I close I'm told that it won't be that bad "it's only 34 people who will have to find jobs". 34!!! I wonder how many others are in the boat?
  13. I got to agree with plow hook ups. Paul

  16. My pop had a new 1965 Dodge Coronet hard top model 440 with a 426 wedge with a Torque Flight. Tan exterior and Bronze interior. I've always wanted to find or make that car.Same body style as your Belvedere. MMMMMMMMMMMM lead paint chip cookies.............
  17. And a Sight Liner too.
  18. I called it an R when its a V, not realy up on Binders I never knew there was any heavier units than the R series. the call outs have lost long ago. Here is an article on the V series. http://www.tenfourmagazine.com/OldTimeTrucks/2008/7.html
  19. Donald Trump Let me get this straight . . . We’re going to be “gifted” with a health care plan, run with the compassion of the IRs and the efficiency of the Post Office, that we are forced to purchase and fined if we don’t! Which purportedly covers at least ten million more people without adding a single new doctor, but provides for 16,000 new IRS agents, written by a committee whose chairman says he doesn’t understand it, passed by a Congress that didn’t read it but exempted themselves from it, and signed by a President who smokes, with funding administered by a treasury chief who didn’t pay his taxes, for which we’ll be taxed for four years before any benefits take effect, by a government which has already bankrupted Social Security and Medicare, all to be overseen by a surgeon general who is obese , and financed by a country that’s broke!!!!! ‘What the hell could possibly go wrong?’
  20. In all seriousness, If I was the judge I would make him pay the dinner for their costs plus, and make sure he NEVER gets any religous holiday or any benefits from them. No prayers over his carcass, if fact I'd have a bunch of nuns piss on his grave.
  21. Fits! There was a Mooslim who had the ACLU sue a PRIVATE CATHOLIC UNIVERSITY because they had crosses in public areas! But this is nothing new. When the battle ship UTAH was commisioned in the late teens early twenties the state of Utah gave the ship a Silver Tea Set with quotes from the Church of Mormon. A lady in the east sued the Navy over the religous quotes. The result was the Mormon Silver was locked up and the generic issued set was put on the ship. See t goes back a long time. Kind of thought WWII, Korea and Viet Nam would have eliminated that gene pool......
  22. Bart Vanderveen did a book on " A Record of Macks in Service and Beyond " plus a few articles in Wheels and Tracks after his book was published on Home Front Macks. Paul
  23. They ran those lights and fenders until at least 1964. Yep there a big dead spot in the Peconic by the expressway.. 549, 4 speed and a 2 speed rear, stuck in low for at least 20 years.
  24. Some say it was for ease in backing into a tight area Mack Museun says it was to fit the V8 in the short bbc cab Others say it was a deal with Schwin to sell their line of heavy duty kick stands.. (the last was an over powering feeling of jest)
  25. This is were I've down loaded some manuals I've needed. Hope it helps. Paul http://www.imarksweb.net/book/onan+5+cck+generator+manual/
