  2. This law will affect all coastal fishing, the way it is written the National Park Service can mandate it to close all habitat areas for the little Sh*ts...public or private land. As a card carrying member of PETA (people eating tasty animals) I say cook em up....

  13. Every thing I've seen on them, it is a Chrysler power pack in a B chassis. Bart Vanderveen's book " A Record of Macks in the Service and Beyond " touches on the Military and Civil Defense fire trucks. The Chrysler was specified because in 1955 to 1957 by the DOD for a few reasons. It was easily repairable by general mechanics, 300 to 345 h.p., they were used in Air Raid siren power units, gen sets for Civil Defense, parts were available almost every where and lastly Chrysler was supplying trucks from 1/2 ton to 2.5 ton, tank engines and general staff cars until 1957 when the General got is Chevys in.
  14. Interesting. Delea Sod Farms has been die hard Mack users since the mid 60's and is switching over to K.W.s. I asked one of the drivers why no more Macks? His answer was they lived in the shop, it was more cost effective to replace them. Hard to sallow they're that bad on honoring new truck repairs. Paul
  15. Simple terms. Coal, Natural Gas, Oil, Wood, Hydro-electric and Nuclear are all enemies of the President, EPA,DEC and the Sierra Club. Windmills, Solar and Unicorns are the answers to the energy needs for them...
  16. Now after being down sized the ant snapped. She armed herself and waited out side the building....After the trial she was found guilty with extenuating circumstances due to PMS. wrote a book, a screen play made a zillion dollars and lived next to an Aardvark for the rest of her very short life.
  17. Yep!! A permit to clear them little sprouts!! or pay $ 1000.00 per tree to the town if I get no permit. Thats because it is on a 2 foot by 27 foot section of town property! Tomorrow i got and tag the "trees" I need to remove with a Orange ribbon " no more than 5 feet above the ground and no less than 3.5 feet down to the ground. The ribbon(s) must be 3 to 5 inches wide, 18 inches long and firmly attached to the tree with NO Fasteners of any kind retaining said ribbon(s). The approved trees to be removed will be tagged with a bright yellow numbered tag for approved removal. You must retain the Yellow tags for the inspector. Upon completion the aforementioned removal(s) the town will compare removal tags with stumps to confirm compliance." Red tape double talk for make my job seem important. Mean while in the same township I scrapped a number of cranes by flipping them on their sides to burn them apart. Go figure. Paul
  18. Sent email and tomorrow printed letters to my reps. They have done the same thing here to us surf casters in the name of the F'n plover. Paul
  19. They had "BEAVER GAMES" but it was to low for me to get to, and momma was already up set of my picture taking.
  20. As soon as I get my local permits to cut all the scrub oaks down and the permit to close 1/2 of a lane to drag it from its spot. Local gov sure moves s l o w , They have to look and tag the trees that will be removed (give the inspector a "tip") I have to Hay Bale the immediate area to prevent any toxic spills or leakage in to the Peconic River, a mile and a half away, Besides, after 50 years I doubt theres any " toxins" left, It's all probably in the ground already. Takes longer to go through the small townships red tape than to do the recovery! Heres the first photo of the recovery process....permit paper work. Paul
  21. Worn springs will do it. As for the U and DMs most I've looked at for some reason run an extra leaf on the passenger side, opposite what you would think. My DM runs 12 leaves on the left and 13 on the right side. Paul
