I also have my dads 1950 Hydra-Glide tank shift with reverse for a side car. Both have their good and bad points. Foot clutches are very good if you tend to the fiber washers to give tension when depressed. The '53 is an 80 incher both are running modern Mikuni carbs although I have the original Tilletsons for them. The Mikunis start easier with new crap gas. My '29 JD is the one that is hard to get used to with the constant loss oil system, only a feed pump. When the valves start to clatter a bit you stop, drain the cases and put the oil back in the tank. If you look close at the '53 you'll see a cable operated front disc brake. I made that up for my wife, less hand strength and more hold than the OEM. Biggest issue were the aluminum heads, they ate the original composite head gaskets. Used to carry a set and a 5/8 box wrench to change them on the road. Finally had luck of finding WWII surplus copper head gaskets and no more issues.

I feel the issue is not the cab size but the severe laid back windshield throws off the over-all perspective of it and makes the cab look too shallow. Cab looks acceptable in the 3/4 front shot on the assembly line.

Have a pair, a '47 and a '53 got a photo some where after I painted them as his n hers for my wife and I. Probably should do something about putting them inside the garage instead of on the porch. Or just sell them. Found it. Hosted on Fotki

I'm not on L.I. that much since my wife died but his yard is about a half mile or so from my Suffolk yard.Always used to have some interesting project there. Never saw his B move either. Paul

I would hope so since it is one of one, but it has not been touched since at least 2009. It just sits in the front against the fence. We talked about it when I looked at his LJ that was for sale for one of the BMT members. Lot of history there. I offered my Allis powered A Car for it. Paul

From Janes Defense. With "watered down" requirements the F35 Lightening II still has issues meeting them. F-35 Block 3F software package, which Lockheed Martin and the Air Force both touted as providing “full combat capability,” there were dozens of known deficiencies remaining , which was when the latest reporting period for DOT&E’s most recent review ended. These are a few of the issues still seeking fixes. Some of those affect weapon accuracy, such as a persistent error that causes the F-35A’s internal 25mm cannon to reportedly still shoot to the right of the pilot’s point of aim. Software issues. The Joint Program Office has been watering down the software requirements for years already, too, securing an interim, limited capability Block 3i software suite to meet some early test objectives and avoid even more embarrassing delays. Before that, the baseline Block 3 was supposed to represent a fully functional package, a requirement the initial iterations of the supposedly "final" Block 3F code failed to meet, as well. It could also otherwise impede the ability of the aircraft’s various complex systems to properly share and display information to the pilot, other F-35s and different aircraft, or throughout ground-based networks. There are other ongoing occupational hazards, as well, including worrying reports of incidents of hypoxia-like symptoms among pilots flying Air Force F-35As. Marine and Navy F-35 pilots have reported a “green glow” in their helmet’s display that can dangerously obscure their vision at night, especially during attempts to land on aircraft carriers and amphibious ships, as well. Lockheed Martin has only recently begun to implement fixes for that problem across the F35 fleets. U.S. military already owns hundreds of F-35s that could also need costly modifications or end up relegated to secondary, non-combat roles. Even then, problems with earlier systems mean that those older aircraft have some of the lowest availability rates. During the March 2018 hearing, U.S. Air Force Lieutenant General Jerry Harris, Deputy Chief of Staff for Plans, Programs, and Requirements, said that it was still costing his service approximately $50,000 per flight hour to fly its F-35As, roughly twice the cost per flight hour to fly an F-16C/D Viper, which the Joint Strike Fighters are slated to replace. In the meantime, it offers no benefit to the security of the United States to field weapon systems that lack significant capabilities for any reason without being honest about those issues. The multi-national nature of the F-35 program means that these decisions impact the capabilities and credibility of nearly a dozen allies, and potentially more, as well. The Pentagon's refusal to accept the most recent batch of jets over the contract dispute will delay the delivery of one to Australia and another Norway, underscoring the interdependence inherent in the program for many smaller participants. All told, it is definitely a good thing that the F-35 program is moving forward in its testing process, but lessons must be learned from its troubled history and it does no good to rush ahead only to create an illusion of real progress.

Mine is piggy around town but interstate will cruise all day a 75 easy and 19+ highway. originally had 3.55
-
Would never sell mine (or the Eldo). 454, 4 speed, 2.94 posi.
-
The first ones were as capable as the CJ, roomier, a large list of options, were capable of highway travel and a bit harder to roll. With a Ford or L/M dealers in most areas service and drive train parts common the the cars and F series it was selling point. Plus Jeep and International Scouts at that time were iffy on corperate survival.

Point is you thought it out, prepped it properly and most important you did it yourself and you are pleased with it which is the main point. Also you learned experience for the next project. In the spring I'm going to break ground to build 38 houses, done it in my head a zillion times. I do break waters, seawalls and quays for 30 years and learn something new on every job. You are pleased that's all that counts.

Mean this is a false hood??
-
Actually it is in an ideal position. The new seat warmers and the new parts changers techs have only a vague idea if any at all of it's use.
-
At least you tried! If I have to I could probably make up spacers if I can't find a set. The Nostalgia rules limit appearance items to be no later than 1977 so limited on options.

Check for shorted wires / damaged sockets or bulbs in the brake lights themselves. Easy way to do it is pull a bulb and see if the fuse blows, if it does go to the next light and do the same. When the fuse stops blowing it will be the last unit that has the issues. No issues found look to the directional switch as the brake light circut runs through it.

Try to temporary disable your antivirus. The code segment cannot be greater than or equal to 64K can sometimes appear due to your antivirus application. Some antivirus apps perform system-wide changes and enforce their security policies causing these types of errors to appear. 50 /50 chance it will work.

They need to be 6.13/16" from the gasket flange to the inside top so I would guess that out side should be 8" +/- . They need to clear a hi lift cam, roller rockers and a girdle. The tall M/T copies Holly sells are too short.
-
Yes, the tall ones to clear my valve train. They are not the 103R-49B, 241-84, 241-85 or 241-87 Those are mostly what is around. Send me the part number from the ones. 241-171A is the old number for the extra tall ones. Paul

Gee I'm jealous you got Kaisers. All we got to use was Mutts and Mules -
You do need to admit she is entertaining and the Millennials, Gen Y and Z people love her. You watch she'll be in the White House in 6 years as Madam President. A few quotes . . . You don't add to the deficit if you only borrow money in your own country. Truth doesn't matter if you are morally correct. Socialism failed in Venizuala because they didn't have enough money. The world is ending in 12 years if we don't act on climate change. Billionaires and millionaires are immoral.

She does have right to voice her views and she does represent the people of Minnesota and from what I just read in the above post and no worse than Rashida Harbi Tlaib who feels Israel should be made all Palestinian, Their opinions their right.
