  1. It's a runner, I'm interested. My AC chassis is a project I hope to live long enought to finish and my mixer has a full drum of concrete ,so thats a project too.
  2. My AC and B were both built in N.J. I don't have a scanner but in John Montvilles book "BULLDOG" there are a few photos of the early part of the Plainfield plant with AB and AC chassis coming out if this door. Paul
  3. We got a live person only taking messages while her boss was out working. I still got a week left of forced vacation, so I'll try a few more times and send over my cousin. Paul
  4. Apparently not very interested in selling it. I called friday afternoon and evening, saturday a couple of times and sunday before we left Hunter to come home. We were only 40 miles or so from it and just kept getting told to call back in a few hours. Paul
  5. $11,500 was in an older ad, really not to bad for the condition it's in. IMO Paul
  6. We've flushed the gear bxes by removing the PTO covers and drain plug(s) and liberal internal spray down with Brakeklean, it won't attack the seals. Others may have an easier or better method than this. You can also get a synthetic and petrolium based oil too. Paul
  7. My uncle was killed on the USS OKLAHOMA at Pearl Harbor, The Missouri is berthed at that spot, across from the entrance is/ was a souviner kyosk ......most of them were made in Japan. The USS Oklahoma family association protested that a were asked what the problem was,so a taco bell or goat head sandwich stand would not surprise me at all at any Veterens Cemetary or Memorial. Most people have no idea of our history or respect for it. Sadly a different world than I grew up in,luckly my kids and grand kids have that respect in them. Paul
  8. AMEN!
  9. Yep forgot to mention give it a GOOD FLUSH.
  10. I agree leave it whole, it looks too nice to part out. FYI in N.Y. any pre title (I think 1973 and older) yo need a bill of sale and a tracing off the VIN. The DMV will than issue a 1 year non transferable registration. After the year if nothing bad shows up in the system they'll issue a standard tranferable registation. I did this with my B and my AC even though they were non runners just to get it over with. Paul
  11. Ive used synthetic in older rears and trannies. The main different I was told by Dutchman Diesel who does our rears and trannies, that synthetic does not break down or degrade over time and the lubrication qualities are more consistant. What I have found is easier shifting and quieter. IMO. Paul
  12. Did you see the link on the e bay add for the U tube video of it? I sure wish I had more room for it! Paul
  13. Tried to cut and paste but new forum would not let me do it, so here is the item number ebay # 270790306424 1939 Mack BM. Looks good!!
  14. Some legends with Camp Hero are: active HAARP units, our involvement in time travel ,the "Philadelphia" experiment, Reptile men and a UFO base. People sure have wild imaginations. Everything of value was removed in the 1980's including the array motors and such. Some vandals hit the housing area in the 90's but it is at the end of the island (less than 500 yds from the Atlantic ocean) and only 1 road in for 25 miles
  15. http://www.foxnews.com/world/2011/08/04/16-countries-including-mexico-file-briefs-against-new-alabama-immigration-law/#content Since when do other countries have this much say in our laws? If Mexico is so interested in " protecting" its citizens, they should start dealing with their domestic internal mess! And, of course, they conveniently leave out the fact that Mexico has much tougher laws against illegals in their own country than Alabama does! How about the fact that Mexican immigration law stipulates that" Mexico can DEPORT FOREIGNERS who are deemed detrimental to “economic or national interests,” violate Mexican law, are not “physically or mentally healthy” or lack the “necessary funds for their sustenance” and for their dependents ( Washington Times)". Always pointing fingers at the United States, but people need to wake up and realize that illegals have no rights in this country; we are a country that governs and functions by the rule of law and order; there is no place for ILLEGAL immigration.
  16. The pipe and duct insulation, ceiling tiles, floor tiles and the concrete /asbestos shingles on the base buildings. Media blasting all the concrete and sealing it to encapsulate the asbestos fibers added to increase the strength. Surprised no ones mentioned the lead based solder in the remaining equipment or plumbing We worry about that and then fill up on smokes and micky dees.........go figure.
  17. It was the other way cuz the radar dogs were in a tall row not a flat row. those are the frikazee moniters
  18. I took 1/2 as vacation so only lost 1 weeks pay..... Most of the pieces from the the cabinets was used in the Nike Ajax or Nike Hercules sites that were all over Long Island or scrapped as being obsolete. Paul
  19. I never even thought to see if the Jersey plant was still there, I think that 1325 is the part of the original SAUER trucks building with the stone International Motors logos, that's what is on the ABs, ACs and AKs. The Manhattan plant was torn down in 1946 and the Astoria plant was / is Swingline Staplers by the el. The LI City plant is part of the NYC FD truck garage on the western service road of the LIE. Paul
  20. The original plant was at 1325 West Front and opened in 1911, 1355 West Front (building b ) opened just before WWII and closed in 1961 when the Hagerstown plant opened. Got this from the Plainfield N.J library site. Paul
  21. Since I got a forced 2 weeks off becuase of the economy , we went back to Camp Hero to see more of "Robs Radar". Got a tour of the inside of the tower and the array (it's steel!). I definatly need one to grill on..... Heres some pics the last 2 are photos of photos, I took over 60 more. I joined the volenteer group to help set it up as a museum, mainly so I can crawl all over it. Paul
  22. Never get them up here Dang it! I got my dads old lever action chambered for 45 acp, sure like to see what a longer barrel would do with those. Nice score. Paul
  23. Thats were both my B came from WOW! My AC was made in Astoria the building is still there and used by the NYC FD I believe. Cool photos thanks for posting them. Paul
  24. Not to good , can't get into Blog or gallery, reps and awards are gone too, but I agree give it some time to level out. Paul
  25. Going to Hanes Falls {near Hunter) to see my cousin this weekend, it's only hop Albany. We'll try to see it. Paul
