  1. Not impressed with any unit after mid 90's with electronics including a Mack. New have to many issues and the earlier ones have an issue getting electronic spares.
  2. I answered their new offer with a counter offer in 100% cash. Hope is happens.
  3. Nothing east of the Rockies? But MACK is east of the Rockies
  4. XK and XJ are the same design but bigger ham and beefier mounts for the weight and power increases.Way more bullet proof the the 60's Vette IRS. Made a few dozen 9' ford housings into Vette rear conversions. In the 70's mid 80's we were the shop on Long Island for Jag, Triumph and MGC V-8 conversions. Even did a 215 Buick V8 in to a Lotus Europa. I'll look for dads XKE pic If you want. Paul
  5. All she was assaulted by was her dislike of Trump.
  6. Never knew that had the first design IRS with the in board discs, always thought that body style had the second design IRS My dads XKE BB/Gasser ran a blown 427 with the original IRS only change he did was add a pair of coil overs to stiffen the travel up. Front suspension was stock with 90-10 shock installed. got a pic somewhere at home of it.
  7. Can't wait to see all the whining snowflakes tomorrow on the fake news networks.
  8. I've got a few 70's 80's MACKS and 3 Marmons and a CCC / AM GEneral M917 dump for my business no Paacar or Navistar would last a year in my line of work. I've tipped the scale with the M917 over 95,000 a few times, never even strained it.
  9. I like KW's up to about the very early 1970's before plastic and vinyl arrived in force. The older ones have personality like MACK.
  10. 1934 and has been used over 40,000 times by Federal ,State and local governments. The weather/ tornado alerts are part of it. Logic, reason and common sense are coming back since Oblameher left.
  11. I thought about selling some the wrecks collectable vehicles I've got in Haynes Falls N.Y., Riverhead .L.I.N.Y., Gorham, Maine and Fork Union Va. but suppose I need a gizmo or a doohickey from one of them? And if I become a Vampire I'll be around long enough to fix um up, so I'd better keep them all..
  12. If it was a Dog, I could have given the time, date and year just by sniffing the bulldogs . . . never mind
  13. Try to get a rod /tube of Nylatron or hard polyurethane and machine a set out on a lathe or give me dimensions and I'll make some for you over the winter. I made up at set for my leaf springs and trans mount. No lost of power through bushings or mount flex..
  14. Nice. Don't want a lean pop through the blower. Guess how I learned that. Course then blowers on the street were mysteries. What rear is in the Jag? Factory IRS or the 9 inch Ford IRS?
  15. Thats how my collection started when I was a tot my gramma saved all her old stuff for me at the farm . . . cars, trucks, tractors, appliances, boats, furniture, bottles , cans everything.
  16. I thought it was a modern version of the Civil Defense channels on the radios, it's is apparently upsetting to certain groups of people. A massive ploy for Trump to UH do something evil. . . yeah that's it EVIL! How Did 'Presidential Alerts' Become A Political Issue? Erich Reimer At 2:18 pm EST on Wednesday afternoon every cell phone and television received and displayed a message entitled “Presidential Alert: THIS IS A Test of the National Wireless Emergency Alert System. No action is needed.” It should relieve every American that our country has the technological capability to alert Americans were a national emergency of existential proportions – say a nuclear exchange, asteroid, foreign invasion, etc. – to potentially occur. Indeed the legal basis and system for the alert, through the Communications Act of 1934, has apparently already been used over 40,000 times by local governments for various natural disasters and other crises in just the past half-decade alone. Yet in our modern political climate it seemed almost doubtless that even such a seemingly unquestionable national security mechanism would become politicized. A lawsuit was already filed a few days before the test claiming worries that the president might use the system as a means of sending his own personal messages or other such content, a ludicrous theory that reflects more of its proponents than of such a possibility actually occurring. Indeed on Twitter we saw how quickly “#PresidentialAlert” became a joke as users, largely opponents of our president, took to the platform to create memes mocking the alert as if it were used for trolling or minor notices. Many others took a more serious tone, attacking the ability of the president to be able to send such messages and claiming everything from invasion of privacy to feeling personally affronted despite the message’s lack of any opinion content or even mentioning President Trump’s name. The fact that it seems some of our nation’s citizens are actually worried, some in jest but others in reality, that the president might abuse the system to distribute his own personal musings to everyone in the country just shows how twisted and unrealistic an image so many have of President Trump President Trump has now already been in office for almost two years. He has had the vast apparatus of the greatest nation in the world at his disposal and we’ve seen little to no more misuse or abuses of the system as compared with any other administration, and even perhaps less. To think otherwise is to live in a fantasy land, where seething hatred of our president overrides facts, logic, and reason. As previously mentioned, a Presidential Alert like this is for the worst of worst cases and has a long and well-ironed out history in our country. Were a time-sensitive and devastating event to truly be coming to our nation’s shores it seems like any citizen who cares about themselves, their communities, or the country would want to be alerted. Those who are encouraging opt-out or even dismantling of the Presidential Alert system over some personal dislike of our President are doing more than hurting our nation’s national security readiness, they are also putting themselves and their fellow citizens’ lives at risk. On a smaller scale, imagine were those affected by the recent slew of hurricanes to have opted out and been unable to receive accurate and coherent information regarding the arrival and severity of the storms - even more damage and loss of life and limb may have resulted.
  17. Guess they tech did not road test it? Out of round or out of balance, never saw the drums ground to balance, generally when manufactured they spot weld a balance weight on them. Grind marks to me say they had an issue and tried to static balance them in the shop. Other thing is are the wheels and tires off when they were reinstalled. You can eliminate that by jacking the each pair on the rear axles up and turning them, use a jack stand or something to gauge if they are the cause when they are turned.
  18. Hillary and Bama say Russia voted twice. And grow the food, drive the trucks, buses and trains, keep the systems up and running, clear the snow, keep them warm and dry. Hell we ought to nave a one day stoppage to screw them up.
  19. E-85 makes lots of power.I don't have carbs on it. I run and ancient 1963 vintage Algon two pot injector. Replaced every o ring, seal and Tygon fuel line for the injection. Your running carbs you can run Barricade Ethanol Proof Fuel Hose by Gates. Grey color. Summit or Jeggs has the Ethanol /methanol carb kits for all the aftermarket performance carbs and a diaphragm kit and power valve if your running Hollys. Here it the car in 2016, second photo is 1963 or 64.when it had a full floater 3/4 ton rear in it with 5:88. Bored 283 to 301c.i. twin WCFB's, set of 283/283 Fuelie heads, Howard solid lifter cam Scialita magneto and a 3 speed. I have pics of it in 1973 somewhere when it was a street racer. Blown 427 BBC, 4 speed and 4:56 Olds rear with weld spider gears. I was pulling in 4 to 7 grand a weekend running on the Connecting Highway in NYC. The cars named "Death Wish" . Tech at the last East Coast Gassers Meet named it that because I'm still running the OEM steering box and original style master cylinder. Runs 5.87 @ 119.4 in the 1/8 mile. I am going to need to address the chassis, lots of flex after 57 years of drag racing. Hosted on Fotki Hosted on Fotki
