  1. Breitbart news September 21, 2018 Congress Takes BIG Steps Against Illegals House Republicans will be voting on laws to curb sanctuary cities. Breitbart reports: The U.S. House of Representatives will vote next week on a resolution offered by House Majority Leader Kevin McCarthy that admonishes U.S. cities for allowing illegal aliens to vote in local elections, as has been confirmed to Breitbart News exclusively. The measure, which Democrats are expected to oppose, in two pages states that it is the position of the House of Representatives that allowing illegal aliens the right to vote disenfranchises American citizens. The House resolution text introduced by McCarthy says: “Recognizing that allowing illegal immigrants the right to vote devalues the franchise and diminishes the voting power of United States citizens. Whereas voting is fundamental to a functioning democracy; Whereas the Constitution prohibits discrimination in voting based on race, sex, poll taxes, and age; Whereas it is of paramount importance that the United States maintains the legitimacy of its elections and protects them from interference, including interference from foreign threats and illegal voting; Whereas the Constitution allows States and localities to grant non-citizens the right to vote in non-Federal elections; Whereas the cities of San Francisco, California, Boston Massachusetts and New York City, New York are allowing non-citizens, including illegal immigrants, to register to vote in elections; and Whereas Federal law prohibits non-citizens from voting in elections for Federal office: Now, therefore, be it Resolved, That the House of Representatives recognizes that allowing illegal immigrants the right to vote in any election, devalues the franchise and diminishes the voting power of United States citizens.” This is an important step to secure elections in the face of foreign influence.

  3. The Daily Caller: The true number of illegal immigrants living in the U.S. — long a subject of intense debate — could be twice as high as commonly accepted figures, according to a study by a Massachusetts Institute of Technology researcher. The study published Friday by Mohammad Fazel-Zarandi, a senior lecturer at MIT’s Sloan School of Management, estimates there are about 22.1 million illegal immigrants in the U.S. today. Most frequently cited estimates put the number between 11 and 12 million. Even the lower bound of the MIT study’s range, 16.7 million, is nearly 50 percent higher than the 11.3 million estimated by the Pew Research Center for 2016. Such a wide discrepancy is explained by deficiencies in the methods researchers have used to arrive at previous estimates, according to Fazel-Zarandi and his co-authors, Edward Kaplan and Jonathan Feinstein of Yale University. In the past, researchers typically extrapolated the total number of illegal immigrants from population surveys and legal immigration records. The study cites the trouble with identifying illegals because of their fear of retribution they may not always provide truthful answers. Either way, this new number is eye-opening. “It’s very likely that undocumented immigrants are more difficult to locate and survey than other foreign-born residents, and if contacted, they might be inclined to misreport their country of origin, citizenship, and number of household residents fearing the legal consequences of revealing their status,” Fazel-Zarandi in a news release. “Any of these circumstances would lead to underestimating the true number of unauthorized immigrants.” The MIT study, which spans 1990 to 2016, also used newly available arrest data to estimate the number of migrant border crossings during that time period. It found the number of illegal immigrants coming into the U.S. rose steadily throughout the 1990s, peaked around 2015, and has leveled off and stabilized since then. If corroborated, the numbers reported in the MIT study could have major implications for immigration policy under the Trump administration, which has made a crackdown on illegal immigration a centerpiece of its agenda. President Donald Trump has repeatedly painted illegal immigration as threat to public safety and the economic well-being of American workers, while administration critics contend he is exaggerating the scope of the problem. “Debates about the amount of resources to devote to this population and the relative benefits and disadvantages of alternative policies — including deportation, amnesty, and border control — depend greatly on having a correct estimate,” Fazel-Zarandi said. “The number sets the scale of programs, education and housing needed.” migrant border crossings? WTF?
  4. Some are smarter and have a good sense of humor, I sent the new kid out to get a bucket of live steam, little smart ass came back with the bucket with dry ice in it. Course he also put Fish Eye Reducer in to Hammer Tone paint because he said it had fish eyes...canceled out the dry ice.
  5. After 78 Attempted Terror Attacks, France Proposes Making Guns Mandatory for Local Police By: Teresa Mull In the past five years (Oct. 2013-March 2018), France has endured 78 attempted terror attacks, and the country’s security forces are reportedly “overwhelmed.” To find the best way to relieve the country’s stressed-out and fatigued police, France’s interior minister launched a “parliamentary commission” earlier this year. “The members of parliament in charge of the commission, Jean-Michel Fauvergue and Alice Thourot, released a report yesterday with more than 70 recommendations, of which the most eye-catching is to make firearms mandatory for all municipal police officers,” Quartz reports. “The proposal to arm all local cops is a significant departure for France,” the Quartz article continues. “The law currently states that municipal police shouldn’t carry guns unless a mayor specifically requests it. According to Le Figaro, just under half of municipal cops currently carry a handgun, up from a quarter just 10 years ago.” Quartz points to a connection between “the increasing militarization of law enforcement” and civilian deaths in the United States, reporting that “the proliferation of lethal weapons in the hands of local police officers has some observers worried.” Quartz also reports France has a “relatively high rate of gun ownership,” though there are only 19.6 guns per 100 civilians in the country, compared to 120.5 in the U.S. In 2015, The Washington Post proclaimed and wondered, “France has strict gun laws. Why didn’t that save Charlie Hebdo victims?” History Repeats Itself This is not the first time France has faced the issue of arming its people against terrifying threats. Second Amendment lawyer Stephen Halbrook’s new book, “Gun Control in Nazi Occupied-France: Tyranny and Resistance,” details how France almost had its own Second Amendment of sorts included in its Declaration of Rights, drafted in 1789. “…The book drives home the important lessons that gun control is a key element of the oppressor’s toolkit, that guns are incredibly useful for those resisting oppression, and that even the most draconian gun-control measures are far from perfectly effective,” Robert Verbruggen writes in a review of Halbrook’s book for National Review. “[The book] cannot prove, of course — and doesn’t purport to — that a stronger French tradition of gun rights could have radically altered history, or that America’s more libertarian gun policies strike the right balance among all the relevant priorities,” Verbruggen writes. “What it does do is force readers to entertain a simple question: When a hostile and brutal power takes over, do you want your countrymen to have guns at hand, or not? Certainly, this question weighed heavily upon the minds of the American Founders, and certainly its answer counts for something.”

  7. College students say they can't send in their absentee ballots because they don't know where to buy stamps Business Insider Virginia 9-19-18 Ashley Collman Fairfax County, Virginia conducted a focus group this summer with college interns from across various county departments. County officials learned that college students were failing to send back their absentee ballots because they didn't know how to get a stamp. "That seems to be like a hump that they can't get across," Lisa Conners, of the Fairfax County Office of Public Affairs, told WTOP on Tuesday. Democrats are counting on Generation Z, many of whom recently gained the right to vote, to help turn Congress blue in the midterm elections. But 49 cents may be all it takes to keep these post-Millennials from exercising their civic duty. On Tuesday, a Fairfax County, Virginia official said they are noticing a disturbing trend: young people failing to mail in their absentee ballots because they don't know how to get a stamp. Lisa Connors, of the Fairfax County Office of Public Affairs, ran a focus group this summer comprised of colleges students interning in various county departments. "One thing that came up, which I had heard from my own kids but I thought they were just nerdy, was that the students will go through the process of applying for a mail-in absentee ballot, they will fill out the ballot, and then, they don't know where to get stamps," Connors told WTOP. "That seems to be like a hump that they can't get across." Connors went on to say that many in the focus group said "they knew lots of people who did not send in their ballots because it was too much of a hassle or they didn't know where to get a stamp." "Across the board, they were all nodding and had a very spirited conversation about 'Oh yeah, I know so many people who didn't send theirs in because they didn't have a stamp,'" Connors said. As a way to combat this abstention for the upcoming midterm elections, the county is focusing on raising awareness of in-person absentee voting, which students can do while they're home on fall breaks. That voting starts in Virginia on Friday. Another potential hurdle is Millinnials voters mixing up their home address, where they are registered to vote, with the address they want their absentee ballot shipped to, according to WTOP. If they mix this up on the ballot, then it's rendered invalid.
  8. My grandson was over today to help me change the front runner on my M917, he had a pair of jeans on that were shredded for welding at the Cat.dealer. Told him I'd buy him a new pair. He laughed and told me he can sell these on Ebay or a store called Prps for $400 or $500. Showed me a link for Prps, worn jeans go from $200 to $1100 !! To think we toss them out when they're trash. https://www.prpsjeans.com/products/demon-selvedge-radiant?gclid=EAIaIQobChMIrcW3_ZvL3QIViLbACh0PDwCdEAQYASABEgKsM_D_BwE https://www.prpsjeans.com/collections/mens-new-arrivals/products/le-sabre-melodic-e85p205f THE BEST! https://www.prpsjeans.com/collections/new-arrivals/products/biscayne-crisp-f85p53v
  9. Eastern Europe isn't buying it. The balance of Europe has allowed it and now is trying to undo the damage same as the Swiss. Course Trump, Szijjarto and Andrzej Duda of Poland (who told the EU to stuff their "migrant quotas) all want legal immigration and tight borders and not be part of the U.N. One World rules.

  15. Fiats and Lancias were actually banned from import to the U.S. at one time in the 1970's because of severe rust in 1 to 2 years. But we did get the Fiat back as a YuGo. In the 1950's my dad sold Borgwards, Singers, Austins and NSU's . It's funny, he turned down Honda in the 1960's . Paul
  16. British cars rot as bad as older Fiats. I looked at a 1959 Jaguar MK IX Saloon, opened the rear door and it fell at my feet. The rot was at least 60% of the car. The floor with the fingers showing is in a Triumph Sprite but it is all getting cut out for a LS9 crate engine and a 6 speed.

  20. VOTES nothing more or less. Same as nothing being done about undoing Obama's exec order on this. https://www.washingtonexaminer.com/washington-secrets/illegal-immigrants-cited-in-theft-of-39-million-social-security-numbers Illegal immigrants cited in theft of 39 million Social Security numbers by Paul Bedard | September 11, 2018 11:51 AM Nearly 40 million Social Security numbers have been stolen and used by illegal immigrants and others to get work, according to agency records obtained by an immigration reform group. The Immigration Reform Law Institute said that from 2012 to 2016 there were “39 million instances where names and Social Security numbers on W-2 tax forms did not match the corresponding Social Security records.” The group said that there is a “thriving black market” used by illegal immigrants to get Social Security numbers needed to get a job. Their report draws attention to a move by former President Barack Obama to stop sending so-called “no match” letters to employers notifying them that numbers used by employees on the wage forms do not match their identity. The change followed the president’s decision to approve amnesty for some 700,000 younger immigrants let into the U.S. under his Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals. Some of those have been dubbed “dreamers.” Several groups promoting immigration reform and limitations have shown that illegal immigrants compete with low-income Americans for jobs. “The Social Security numbers of young children are especially sought by illegal aliens, as this theft is likely to go undetected for years. As children reach late teenage years and apply for credit for cars, student loans, and other needs, they may find that their credit has been compromised with mortgages, credit cards and criminal records attached to their identities,” said the group. “This investigation shines a light on the depth of America’s problems as a result of allowing illegal aliens into the country,” said Dale L. Wilcox, executive director and general counsel of IRLI. “It also debunks the idea that being in the country illegally is a victimless crime. Millions of Americans, in many cases children, are having their identities stolen to enable even more criminal activity. Illegal aliens should not reap Social Security benefits that result from the commission of identity theft.”
