  1. I'll get the info for you over the next day or so. I'll start with my parts guru at the Mack, Hino Volvo dealer. Paul
  2. Hydrogen Embrittlement is caused by the Hydrogen evolved during electro-platingprocess, causing it to be absorbed into the crystal structure of the steel at it's surface. Normally baking at 190 deg. C (375F) to 200 deg. C (400F) will remove the atomic Hydrogen before it has had chance to migrate and become molecular. Documented tests carried out by the Spring Research Institute in the UK have suggested that if baking is carried out within 24 hrs. of plating the Hydrogen can be removed. However it appears that many Military specifications request that the treatment be carried out within a much tighter timescale. Paul
  3. metric 17mm equals .669. Many foreign trucks use them.
  4. Most likely on their list. seems to be an ever expanding list of "feared" chemicals.

  6. No No No! The one on the right belongs on the left side. It is printed higher to show over the license plate.
  7. Box Turtle pee run through a Britta filter works just as well but require s60 billion Bubbawatts for 1000 hours
  8. I needed some Plutonium for my flux capacitor, got it at Sams Club with a coupon. This is all because of the Timothy Mcvey bought 40 gallons to make his bomb for the Oklahoma attack from a vendor at an NHRA event and the NHRA was held liable for the sale by the families lawyers, the State and the Feds, so now it's jump through hoops to get it with a cradle to grave paper trail. Even affects the RC hobby boys with their Nitro fuel for RC cars and aircraft. That's why most are going electric or 4 stroke gas.
  9. 4 months ago I stated to try to apply for my required DHS License to purchase 44 gallon containers of VP Nitromethane fuel for when my vintage race car is ready to run at the Nostalgia Funnycar meets. Called the DHS in Virginia, DC and the Eastern Command Center. After 3 months today I finally got the CSAT Top Screen Questions forms. 167 pages of which 160 pages are required to answer questions. No exceptions ALL Questions must be answered or application is rejected and a one year WAIT TO RE APPLY. Ain't gubberment great? Local fire Department and Va state police signed off on me explosion resistant storage building and issued the town, county and state permits to safely store it which are pending the DHS permit to purchase it. SECTION 20: GENERAL REGULATIONS, ENGINE: 1, 1:6 FUEL, Nitromethane Regulations for Racing use The Department of Homeland Security (DHS) continues to regulate the use and handling of nitromethane in racing. The law requires anyone who possesses 400 pounds (42 gallons) or more of nitromethane to complete and submit a "Top Screen" questionnaire to the Department of Homeland Security. The Top Screen questionnaire is an exhaustive screening tool that requires a great deal of detail to complete. Failure to comply can lead to penalties up to $25,000 per day, having the racing activity shut down and all vehicles and equipment seized of person(s) violating the DHS regulation. For additional information and instruction, we encourage you contact the Department of Homeland Security.
  10. Maybe because I'm a long bearded, grey haired old man with hair down below my shoulders he felt I could be bullied? Course I'm also 6' 4" 240 pounds and an angry veteran.
  11. From what I've found Volvo engine production is fine, it's them supplying them to Mack that is the issue. Every Mack sold apparently upsets the Euro management. Like they don't seem to grasp that Macks sales also boost their bottom line.
  12. Larry it goes beyond steel production goes to wiring/ electronic supplies, trim and glass suppliers, general lethargy in the top management and last Multi Brand dealers whose slaes people push the unit with the quickest and highest sales commission. I was actually thinking at the time of making my Marmon a show toy and replacing it with a new Anthem...stupid me for being brand loyal.
  13. Was estimating a seawall job in Chesapeake last spring and stopped at Tidewater Mack. Looked at an Anthem and asked the salesman if I ordered one, whats the lead time for delivery. Straight faced told me 6 to 10 months or longer, Volvo has supply issues and really could give a crap if they sell or not. Heard the same thing from Excel in Roanoake and Gabrielli in N.Y.

  16. $3800 and was on the machine for 2 1/2 days, cheap IMO
  17. I trust them for chassis work a 100% they straightened and took the twist out of my R chassis that I laid over on its side at about 40mph. track better than when it was first bought. They use a Bee Line frame table. No heat, no major disassembly all laser and computer specs to check and make it factory. If you can find a shop near to you with the Bee Line system thats the best and most economical way. Sure there a shop Westchester with that machine. Here is a shot of their chassis table.
  18. Never been stored in doors in it's 29 years, but is washed top to bottom and under carriage too after every trip, waxed at least 3 times a year. I do want to re paint it over the winter now that I have an 80 by 100 shop almost finished.
