  1. I'll have to find the Memory Stick it's on , I bought that video at the last Marmon Home Coming in Denton.
  2. The best. Even packed up and went to Israel with me in 1972 to fight and back to the states in '74. Not ever a question or a second thought. She was one of a kind.
  3. Welcome and enjoy! Paul
  4. When my wife was alive she would tell me where and what she found and generally that we should save it.
  5. The Royale II are the ones I remember on the east coast. Both COE and Conventional cabs.
  6. Some are, most I saved from the scrappers or bought a farm auctions.
  7. There is on Long Island N.Y. a farm with 65 or 70 old trucks on it, mostly AC Macks, REO and Binders, same owner has a place in Virginia with another 100 plus vintage trucks, Muscle cars and containers full of parts. He used Google Earth to search out vintage units. I'm He is a bit eccentric I'm told...
  8. No road salt??
  9. Eighth gear is .88 O.D but I also adapted a Gear Venders O.D. made for a Dodge 1 ton with a 6 speed trans. Had to make an adapter flange and sleeve, a modified cross member and a GPS speedometer. All done brings it down O.D. to .67 with the 3:91 rear. Both diffs also have Air Locs.
  10. 3 leaves out of the main spring pack and 2 added to the load pack, makes the ride equal to a 3/4 ton
  11. The cab on my Marmon 57P seems to share the basics with the I.H. Paystar cabs, mainly windshield, cowl and doors except liberal use of Duralium on many panels. The COEs were in house design til the end. My 1989 was bought new by my grandfather for potato transport to Hunts Market. Marmon like the Pacific Trucks were all hand assembled to the owners specific specs. Drive trains are the same as any other unit and only as good as any other, but what it sits in and what goes around it is high quality. There is 1979 that shows up at the Marmon Home Coming every year powered by a MACK V8 supposedly spec'd that way. My 1989 is still as quiet and rattle free as the day my grandfather and I picked it up in Denton.
  12. Road test?? They can't even get it in the shop!
  13. On my Marmon with out the warmer set up, the ice and snow freezes solid enough you've got to scrape it off
  14. I would put a straight edge across the one with the adapter and measure how far the input shaft sticks out, Swap the adapter to your other trans and see if the dimension is the same. Is the input shaft a bigger diameter then the one you took out of the your truck? The part of the input shaft that goes in to the pilot bearing different also? Paul
  15. Bought a left over 2015 Ram 5500 long wheelbase Quad cab chassis dualie. Cummins , 8 speed and 4x4. Took 22 inches out of chassis, put on 4 Super Singles and 2013 Ram 8 foot bed. Hosted on Fotki Hosted on Fotki 0
  16. Most do not even know manual tranny's exist. Sad when you go in for a state vehicle inspection and have to tell the service writer that you vehicle is a standard trans and see the "oh F*ck look" When I picked up from Dodge my new Ram 5500 chassis the guy that drove standards was off for the day, had to got get it in the shop myself. 5 salesmen, 9 techs and 2 service writers and ZERO could drive a standard!
  17. PM me your address, I'll swing by on the return. First long run with my Dodge 5500 pick up.
