  1. I believe different for the Allison, but it may start, probably set codes for no Auto but easy to clear. You have seemed to rule out issues with the harness and connectors.I would swap the VECU first and try to start, than go the next. If it starts puul the first unit you put in ,reinstall the original and see if it starts. Extra work but you can sort of end up replacing only the bad unit. You did check the harness plugs and modules for corrosion at the connector pins, didn't you?
  2. The capped connector shows it never had a trans control module, some do some don't. Seems to point to a bad eecu or vecu . Do not know if they can be checked without the Mack interface tool. You should be getting a MID & FMI besides the 6-3, which will help in your diagnosis.
  3. Since this started after the hit and the shop seems to have been less than decent with the collision repairs. Is it possible that the engine / trans assembly misaligned because of the hit and when the trans was removed for the clutch it went back in misaligned? Now that asked would loosening the engine and trans mounts allow any misalignment to some what correct and misalignment? Or am I just off on my thoughts
  4. A 6-4 Code indicate loss of communications between the VECU(Vechile Electronic Control Unit) and the EECU (Engine Electronic Control Unit). If you disconnect the ABS ECU and measure the resistance across the yellow and green wires (J1939 High and Low) you should have 60 Ohms. Make certain the key is off! if you have 120 Ohms the VECU is not seeing the EECU or vise versa. Start at the Bulkhead connector and measure the resistance towards the VECU you should have 120 Ohms, then towards the EECU you should have 120 Ohms. the ECU's must be connected. One side or the other should have 0 Ohms if you are getting this code The grey plug with only 3 post/wires in it coming out of the firewall on the driver side and going down. It will have a yellow and green wire in it. On some trucks it also runs on top of the tranny for hooking up a auto tranny ECM Check there for corrosion and grounds
  5. Glad he kept them. Township of Riverhead on Long Island bitched about the 40 old trucks I had on the farm. I went and got antique insurance and tags on all of them. Some were barely above scrap. 100% Legal and code enforcement and the yuppies could not do squat. Aside from the antique insurances small bill, the plates are life time in N.Y.S. The initial $4000 for the plates is/ was well worth it just to see the neighbors sour pusses. One farm turned their old Power Wagon into a fountain. Went to court over it and the judge agreed it was "art".
  6. There is also a manufatured date code on the carburetor Tecumaeh and Walbro carbs but none if it is a Zenith. Paul
  7. Gee I sure hope not! One of the members here does the shop, hauling and shows for them, though he hasn't been on in awhile.
  8. You're right no 6-149 in line only the 6-110 . The V-149 from 8 to 20 cylinders. Now that said there was a company in N.Y. called Dutchman Diesels that was supposed to be converting the 110 series to a larger cubic inch for high speed marine use wether using the V149 blocks or an other way. Never saw one close enough to see what was done..
  9. Wow. Never saw one that was not a stationary unit like the 12V149's.
  10. 22 or 22,5 milimeter i.d. nut, probably a 1.5 pitch.
  11. Replaced? Do you think the Obama era targeting of U.S. Christians and promoting Islam, with the media and schools joining in has driven the belief that the Christian faith is waning?
  12. It's on the correct end if you are retreating backing up.

  15. That's the one thing common to most on here also intolerance for lack of caring about results. Paul
  16. Freedom Series" has two references from MACK: to the media coverage of the Statue of Liberty restoration and to the freedom from repair costs due to the special warranty. "
  17. I would bet the complete mains were never changed. Sounds like they popped in the lower shells and let the uppers stay.
  18. I'd go back in time and eat you cup cake Well, it does 2 things. Plug it into your cigarette lighter and you have USB ports to charge your phones, the flashing LED's annoy my daughter inlaw
  19. Funny you say that. I just talked to the Fluvanna County office about a contract for river wash out and the first thing they asked was how new are my trucks. Told me the last company they signed with to do this job had all new equipment that spent more time broken down the on the site.
  20. three times
  21. See now I have the best device and it's portable...

  23. When that grounded in the mid 1700's the locals would have taken everything of value from planks to cut nails. what was left was probably just whats there now. Cools a hell though. When I was a kid in Oyster Bay after a Nor Easter we would see the pair of sunken WWI German subs that were used as a break water for the old ferry from Bayville to Stanford Ct. Long Island was lousy with wrecks from the Cruiser San Diego, the Andrea Doria and even a Texas Tower Early Warning Radar unit.
  24. Rarely but it does happen. I would have shown my 282 card if it was asked for civilly, not demanded on my driveway, to my house which is posted and gated. The bridge is being done be myself and an occasional helper as per state and county specs. Should have just assumed he wanted to rob me and shot him.
