  6. I talked to him on December 17 about 10 of the 20 Sterlings he had for sale. I tried to get in touch with him this weekend when went I was in Maine The man loading me at the Coles Museum told me he thought Mr Gushee died. He'll be missed.

  12. Tesla is doing nothing that any of the truck and auto manufacturers could or can do. His trucks are more expensive to purchase and I recall his designed charging system is not compatible with others. Service on the systems it seems that Tesla relies on a sevice desk type diagnostic and software up date / repairs. My Tesla semi dies in Northern Maine who does he send? The Tesla/Best Buy Geek Squad? No support or parts facilities does not instill confidence on my end. In my opinion the Tesla would have much broader acceptance if the overall design was not so radical and some what more conventional looking. Also a lot of Tesla's ideas are already catching flak, the central drivers position, touch screens, full cameras and monitors, all great but to radical to be plopped in our lap all at once. Look at the past the cutting edge designs of the past, the Airflow, Delorean, Corvair and Tucker to name a few. Aeronautic, all too cutting edge and radical and not accepted at the time. Paul
  13. Went in to effect Today January 1st. Illinois makes 'Barack Obama Day' a state holiday By Brandon Carter Former President Obama is being honored with a new state holiday in his former state of Illinois. Illinois Gov. Bruce Rauner (R) signed a measure Friday to make Aug. 4 " Barack Obama Day ” in the state, according to NBC Chicago . The holiday will be celebrated each year on Obama’s birthday beginning in 2018. The day is “set apart to honor the 44th President of the United States of America who is America's most beloved President. A man began his career serving the People of Illinois in both the Illinois State Senate and the United States Senate, and dedicated his life to protecting the rights of Americans and building bridges across communities , countries and races.” Senate Bill 55 was passed by both state houses with no votes against it.. "It's incredibly proud for Illinois that the president came from Illinois. I think it's awesome, and I think we should celebrate it," Rauner stated.

  16. Sweetwater Bay Drive and the area off Broad Ridge Road towards the dam.
  17. Funny when they were new you couldn't give them away. Looked at a brand new untitled unsold one at Syosset Chrysler Plymouth in 1972 that they were asking $2900.00 just to get rid of it after nobody buying it for 3 years. Went to auction on Jerome Ave in N.Y.C. where it sold for 18 or $1900. If we only knew then. . .
  18. Was Minus 25 at 6 a.m. Had enough heaters on my Marmon to to get it running after some effort.

  21. Happy New Year to all my "invisible" BMT friends. Wife's in Virginia it's 18 degrees, I'm in Maine with a load of B-Model parts for my mixer to bring home tomorrow. It's now -12 degrees here in South Portland...BUT it is a dry cold.
  22. My family was the Royal Administrators in Cheshire County, England from 1270 to 1789 and in the 1500 had six ships commissioned as privateers, sailing for the King. The Spanish mainly our prey but after the mid 1600's all ships along the Eastern Seaboard were prey when we went from Privateers to Pirates. We had some at Ellesmere Port, England and Massachusetts. During the Revolutionary War, the family in Mass and Conn joined Washington's army, the family on Long Island were granted a pardon and fought for the British. After the war the British took our ships and removed Cheshire County as the administrators for the crown to Northern England. I stopped at the family ancestral estate on leave from S.E.A. in 1971 and had the door slammed in my face for being a" Colonial Upstart".
  23. So since it's under the Queen, does that mean my family is now on bad terms with the Royal Navy again? We had to hide with the Dutch to stop our necks from being stretched by the crown in the early 1600's.
