Exactly. Macks problem was the way the one to one stock trade with Signal Gas was done. It favored the stock holders and Signal Oil and Gas way more the MACK. The stock was cumulative convertible preferred stock Cumulative Convertible Preferred stock has a provision that stipulates that if any dividend payments have been missed in the past, the dividends owed must be paid out to cumulative preferred shareholders first, which happened to be Signal Gas. The start of the financial down turn for MACK.

I got Teamstergrrl defensive, I should have known better from you. The Haywood problem was described by John Montville, was what MACK Corporate described as California Casual work attitude. Grummans problem was in 1963 / 65 was that as a defense contractor you are required to be diverse. Another problem was that the Stuart facility was originally making Agcat's for Grumman and went on line repairing and rebuilding crash damaged Mohawks from S.E Asia. The management structure was "good ole boy deep south" along with most of the crew, did not like working with or having a New Yorker or a person of color as their equal or boss. The absentee problem for Stuart, was partially that the facility was on a canal and some of the crew and their bosses would go fishing at lunch and not return until the fish stopped biting. Grumman and the DOD replaced basically the entire managment and most of the employees.

You're right! I'm lying and made it all up. Grummans didn't move my father and us to Stuart Florida in 1965 for 1 1/2 years to undo the employee issues. Haywood had a high turn over rate of employees fired for the lax attendance and work ethics. Grumman was not union and did fire or suspend those who took half days for recreation after the existing leadmen and foremen were replaced or demoted.Stuart in the early mid 60's also had racial issues at the facility too. As for me giving you "crap" on union involvement, I MADE NO MENTION OF THAT OR EVEN HINTED AT THAT. SO DON'T BAIT.

Cap was my thought also.

Actually Fox and CNN took it from Wired Magazine who ran it 2 months ago, who editorialized it with Gates. Either way nothing that Trump or his"minions" is good for the people and the country and according to Mr Schummer is a Republican plan to destroy the internet after Obama saved it.

The Restoring Internet Freedom Order reverses a decision made by the Obama administration to regulate internet service providers (ISPs) under the Telecommunications Act of 1934 – a law intended to establish rules for phone and local electric companies enacted decades before development of the internet.Although the internet operated effectively and efficiently without net neutrality, Obama’s FCC in 2015 suddenly and inexplicably determined a radical transformation was required to “save” it. When information technology experts speak of “net neutrality,” they usually mean consumers should be able to access the legal content they want using the legal applications and devices they want. For example, Verizon’s network should not block data going to and from an AT&T customer’s computer. However, under the Obama administration, liberal activists took a concept everyone agreed on and warped its definition to satisfy their goal to expand government’s power over the internet. Obama’s net neutrality rule – officially called the Open Internet Order – prohibited a practice called “paid prioritization.” This is a contractual agreement between a content provider like Netflix and a network owner like Verizon. Those agreements allow data to travel on less-congested networks when main routes are clogged up, and there are very good reasons why paid prioritization should be allowed. When it comes to getting data to your computer or TV, different kinds of data have different requirements. The bytes comprising an email don’t need to arrive at your computer all in the same order they were sent, but the bytes in streaming video or audio do. Receiving the data bits in the wrong order or at the wrong time can cause video distortions, stutters and other playback problems. Companies like Netflix and YouTube – may wish to pay a little bit extra to a network company to guarantee better quality for its customers. Further, because YouTube, Netflix and other internet video streaming businesses consume lots of data compared to almost all others going online, it might make sense for Verizon and other ISPs to ask such businesses to pay a little more for their services. In the same way, the government requires 18-wheeler trucks to pay more in tolls on congested roads than people driving cars. Supporters of net neutrality say that it protected everyday Americans from having their internet slowed down or their favorite websites blocked by a greedy, evil internet service provider well here is the deal... No internet service provider wants to be known for having “slow service" ,they will lose customers. Now one question, if net neutrality is so important, why is it that the internet was able to grow and operate so successfully from its creation all the way until 2015 without any of these dire problems that Obama said he was saving us from? Well make no mistake about it, net neutrality wasn’t about ensuring internet “fairness.” The truth is that net neutrality was passed by the Obama administration to give them power over the internet to the Federal Government for censorship, blocking unfavorable content and the ability to "mold our minds" and finally the power to shut down the net if they felt it was "needed". Bottom line is Trump is undoing more of Obama's federal controls.

Same unit that's in my M920. Follow the service intervals and don't lug it it will run for ever. My 920 weights 35,000 empty and I've had 27 ton in the dump and it walked out of my back acreage like it was nothing. I like it better that the Allison -
Look at your cable of satellite bill, we are already paying Federal and State taxes on it. But by making is private, they get top add local taxes and all kinds of fees and surcharges to your bill. One other issue with this deal is, it turns control over to a Global control by companies. Your next provider could be based in any country world wide.

Also the Haywood, California plant had an employee / quality control problems with the "California" attitude of employees there. Similar to the problems Grumman had in Stuart Florida back in that time frame. People would go to lunch and not come back because of a good wave or good fishing in Stuart, same deal in Haywood from the line workers to engineering not returning or just not coming in. Mack had a presence in Europe, South America and the Middle East, but the European makers caught up technologically wise, to be very competitive.

Term limits on all elected officials, no holding office for 30. 40 or more years. Two terms and gone. Limit the campaign funds to a set amount, not 10's of millions from all over the country. Ties to special interest or lobbyists disqualifies the candidate. Benefits go away when your out of office. Those would be a start.

Is there a difference between a pimp and a politician ??

That's how it used to work, but cooperation seemed to stop about the time Al Gore lost. It went from tense but working together for the country to out right hatred of each others parties and refusal to even agree on anything at all. Seems they only perform for ratings.
