AC's had cylinder and head cast as one piece from the on set. The change to separate heads was after 1927 or '28, but I have to dig out the correct year of change. Electric starter was an option along with battery ignition and a generator. I do not recall seeing a motor number on any of mine. All my AC 4 and my AC 6 have chassis numbers only on body tag and in all my paper work from the Mack Museum.

Chassis numbers from 10,314,001 to 10,315,000 produced from April 1927 to January 1928. They are 5 ton chassis.

Joseph Equipment has quite a few vintage units, all call for price and seems to not want to sell. He has a High Point B81 listed on T.Paper also. http://www.josephequipment.com/inventory/?/listings/other-items/for-sale/list/category/40000/other-items?pcid=2842383&etid=1&dlr=1&YF=1900&YT=1960&lp=MAT&lo=4

Since opening to the public in 2000, the Commonwealth Coach & Trolley Museum in Roanoke, Virginia, has educated visitors about the history, use and efficiency of public transit, while also providing transportation services for area non-profits and public events. As The Roanoke Times reports, a two-alarm fire that began in the early morning hours of November 1 has destroyed the museum’s home on 18th Street S.W., and with it, nearly half its collection of coaches. Sadly sprinklers and direct fire alarm were not in CC&T’s budget, nor was installing and fueling a heating system in a rented building to prevent the sprinklers from freezing, breaking, and causing a flood in the winter. The “bus barn” was an old industrial building, but the rent was cheap. It kept many of the buses out of the rain, except for a few leaks in the roof, and protected them. IMO a fire suppression system or even a direct link fire detection system is a must for both our house and my shops. I can not understand someone having even a one collector vehicle and not protecting it even minimally. https://www.hemmings.com/blog/2017/11/02/fire-consumes-commonwealth-coach-trolley-museum-in-roanoke-virginia/?refer=news#comments-block

Norfolk Southern Sues Over Millions of Rail Ties It Calls Defective

There are still large areas of wage disparity and large areas of workers earning slave wages. The unions have always been part of China since Mao's time, but only around 2010 did they become somewhat of an aid to the members in some of the larger industrial areas. The first article is from the China Labor Bulletin. Second from GP Morgan Chase "Skills Shortage in the Chinese Market" http://www.clb.org.hk/content/wages-and-employment https://www.jpmorganchase.com/corporate/Corporate-Responsibility/document/skillsgap-in-chineselabor-market-exec-summary.pdf While wages in general have risen steadily, incomes of high-skill workers have grown much faster than average. As a rough guideline, education levels of workers can be used to gauge their skill levels. In 2007, the average wage of workers with at least a college education was 1.86 times higher than that of workers with a middle school education or lower. This figure increased to 2.75 times in 2013 China is transitioning up the value chain from the ‘world’s factory’ for low-end products to a purveyor of quality information products, high- end technology and services. This has led to a greater demand for labor with upgraded skills and competence. Data from the Ministry of Human Resources and Social Security shows that skilled workers account for only about 19% of the entire workforce, with highly skilled workers constituting only 5%. Although the demand for low-skilled labor is substantial, because of the abundant supply, there is almost no demand-supply gap in the low-skilled group -
It's part of the secondary case housings from what I can see, there is a massive required ground system for the units.

That book and his book called Bulldog are the bibles in my opinion. Paul -
Stolen for the load? Hope they're caught.

I got a pair from the Surplus vehicle dealer in Philly that I bought my M917 dump, and M172 trailer from. Noise is not an issue for me at either property as my neighbors are a few miles away in Maine and 15 plus in Virginia. Picked the 005 gen among a lot of reasons it's also EMP proofed. Paul

Overhauling a 2001 etech 427 open to sugestions

Excessive idling can result in an oil film that can't support the load needed. Engine lugging can distort the crankcase and/or crankshaft, causing rapid wear the connecting rod and / or the main bearings to name to most common causes -

Look at China's "edge". State owned R.R., cheap labor, no union to help or hinder, no "social programs" and no EPA, Save the (fill in the plant or animal) Groups or NIBY's to list a few differences. Basically they build like Robert Moses did in N.Y.S. in the 30's to 60's. -
EPA to rescind glider kit emissions regs enacted last year

My grandson works for CAT and said they spent 300 million to build a engine and gen factory there in 2010. Dayco has 2 factories there and Perkins is there building 165,000 + engines a year. All the companies say the products are for the Asian market, but a lot make it to our shores because of cost savings -
So far most of the BIG news today I've seen is Blassio and the other moron Cummo are saying they won't politicize it and than blather on that the President Trump hasn't even bothered to call them.

It doesn't have the compressabilty that wood has for their use plus you need to look at the length and load of our cross country freights. Most on the Eastern seaboard run 5000 to 6600 feet long and some in Canada are running close to 12,000 feet long or longer. BNSF and Norfolk both generally run freight length by their 10 minute rule for crossings. -
Had this in our field today dropped 15 yards of what Mainers call Glacier stone and we call bank run. this is for the MEP 005 Generator unit and propane tank. Started this install last week and dawdled until we lost power for 11 hours and had to use a piss ant unit. Got 2 dumps on Long Island and 1 in virginia and had to have one deliver to us, told the yard I dealt with them because they had MACKS :).

The other side of the coin is, how much has been "borrowed" from it (like Social Security) and never payed back?
