The Girl Scouts of the USA has issued a blistering rebuke of the Boy Scout's decision to begin letting girls into the ranks of its troops. "We, the Girl Scouts have no plans or desire to start accepting boys in the wake of news that the Boy Scouts will start welcoming girls into the organization". "The Boy Scouts' house is on fire," a Girl Scouts spokeswoman told ABC News in a statement today. "Instead of addressing systemic issues of continuing sexual assault, financial mismanagement and deficient programming, BSA's senior management wants to add an accelerant to the house fire by recruiting girls." The Girl Scouts appeared to respond negatively Wednesday to the Boy Scouts' decision with a blog post citing what it said is the power of the "single-gender environment." "Girl Scouts is the best girl only leadership organization in the world, created by, with and for girls," the organization wrote in the post. "We believe strongly in the importance of the all-girl, girl-led, and girl-friendly environment that Girl Scouts provides, which creates a free space for girls to learn and thrive." It continued, "The benefit of the single-gender environment has been well-documented by educators, scholars, other girl- and youth-serving organizations, and Girl Scouts and their families. Girl Scouts offers a one-of-a-kind experience specifically for girls with a program tailored specifically to their unique developmental needs." The Boy Scouts organization’s leaders have gone on record stating that they are “an inclusive organization…If a child identifies as a boy and the child presents herself as a boy , the Boy Scouts welcome her as a Boy Scout.” Young seven-year-old Bobbi – born a girl, yet insists that she is a boy – can now be a member of what has until recently been an organization designed exclusively for young males.

Mid 40's Mack Firetruck
41chevy replied to David Johnson's topic in Antique and Classic Mack Trucks General Discussion
With all the good tips that FXFYMN mentioned 3 things can cause "poor" braking that I've come across with dozens of older vehicles that have passed through my doors, is the following When the systems get worn, the new relined shoes have a tendency NOT to get full contact, they most times need to be "arced" to mach the drum. The old AMMCO Brake lathes have the set up to Arc the shoes to the drum radius You place the shoe in the drum and see fit between lining and drum you may find minimal contact. Many of the problems can also be to the lack of know how to properly adjust the brakes properly (no inference to your skills) Look closely at the flex hoses, the OEM replacements until the mid 1960 when the aged if they did not crack the would some times expand under braking and loss stopping power at the shoes. Some would get an internal crack that would either block the pressure to the wheel cylinders or stop the pressure from releasing to un apply the brakes. I've seen more to the first than the latter. FYI I'm an ASE Master Tech on Automotive and Heavy Truck for 34+ years Paul -

The Euclid factory in Motherwell, outside Glasgow, Scotland . General Motors, acquired Euclid Road Machinery on September 30, 1953, and made it a division of GM on January 1, 1954. In the mid-1950s, GM built a new factory for Euclid at Hudson, Ohio. GM then ended Euclid production in Scotland.

Wagner still lists 2 different rebuild kits for that number. One with Dust boots, piston seals and spring. The other is all as mentioned but includes new pistons. That an odd wheel cylinder because it is off set from the mount. The Wager number does not cross over to EIS, Rockwell or Bendix.

1968 Mack R-611F
41chevy replied to j hancock's topic in Antique and Classic Mack Trucks General Discussion
Most all of the R611F (fire chassis) had that narrow shutter set up for the rad and all came with 250 h.p. Mack with 5 speed. -
Check all above BUT also check the Series Parallel unit very close like fxfymn says and I would look at the ignition switch it self. Both will cause a massive short in the start/ charge circuits Let us know what you find.

I would like any of the manufacturers post an emissions/ environmental impact statement on the difference in manufacturing, recharge power generation and storage system recycling of a "green" vehicle as opposed to a conventional ICP vehicle. Paul
