  1. Un screw the speedo finger nut on the trans where the cable would normally go, the adapter comes out in one piece tub and angle head.
  2. Studebaker and Hudson collectors are rabid about those things. A few years ago I sold a set of dealer parts books for Studebaker trucks at Hersey for $2300
  3. Final Prices 1916 AC $5250 1918 AC $2400 L Model $1000 B61LT $2900 B61T $1100
  4. The 55 is a model 210 hardtop. When dad bought it in 1962 it had a 265 V-8 with a cast iron power glide, factory AC and power windows. he made it a d/gas 1/8 mile drag car with a 301 Chevy, with a pair of WCFB four barrels and a 3 speed trans running 2nd and hi only. His last time slip at Islip Speedway 1/8th was the UDRA class record now long forgotten . Now it's a shell. no sound deadening, minimal wiring to be street legal, windows are all fixed up except drivers side, which is held up with canvas and snaps. Doors, fenders , hood ,trunck and rear bumper are "grinder" lightened fiberglass, interior is 6 gauges, 2 fiberglass seats and a fire system. Car weighs in at East Coast Gasser Association at 2495 wet. Biggest engine I ran in 1983 was a blown, injected 427, 4 speed and 5:13 gears. Was a bit un rulely around town.
  5. Honestly I believe they wake up one morning and decide "i'm a gonna take mah truck apart and fix the miss, tain't a gonna take mor 'n a few hours" Than the beer high wears off and they can't put it back together
  6. 2001 was the first year of production. No idea if it shared the R chassis. The MACK name is located in 3 different spots ,top, middle and bottom. I always thought it was for different model years but was never positive. Paul
  7. One thing I learned a long while ago was MACK's power band was generally exactly where you needed it most. . .if the unit was spec'd out right. Which was when the salesmen were real truck people not ex Mac Donald's or Hyundai salesmen. .
  8. Very nice show! What is the 7th one down, A Bedford? Paul
  9. Same all over, no fear of consequences. This was last week in NYC , media and mayor of NYC Blassio praise the judge. http://pix11.com/2017/07/09/brooklyn-man-tries-to-wrestle-gun-from-female-nypd-cop-and-then-gets-released/
  10. Those are some nice trucks. The 4x4 suburbans are sharp. Napco or GM ? Like the saddle tanks on the B model don't need them but they call to me. Paul
  11. Variable-geometry turbochargers (VGTs), Variable geometry turbo with a sticking "gate" that moves the vanes to change the boost, turbo related EGR flow is a few of the things I would look for after making sure of no inlet leaks or collapsing hoses
  12. If your talking to me, the Monte, el Camino , both El Dordados , 2 1971 Challengers, a 1971 340 six pack Duster (the mopars each had a tad over 1500 miles each @ 1/4 mile at a time and never titled race cars only) we only sold at Meccum in Atlantic City in 2015. I rarely sell any of my vehicles . . .ever. The 55 I 'll keep until I die and my grandson gets it. One family owned since 1962 and a race car in one form or another all those years.
  13. The 41 I bought from the original owner in Coalsdale Pa., a decent running original car that was his wife's since new. I did the body , interior and running gear and left the original top on it. Engine wise took a few shims out of the rods and ran it for close to a year. Sitting in the shop warming up the original fiber timing gear went. Pulled the engine had it bored .010, cut the crank .010 across the board added aluminum 6.5 pistons on modern 2.8 GM rods for inserts instead of Babbitt bearings and had a 70% balance done on it. Added a Nippon Denso alternator from a Yamaha motorcycle because it fit into the casing of the original 6 volt generator and looked stock. We took the car from L.I.N.Y. to the 1991 50th anniversary of the opening of the PA turnpike and than took Rte 66 from Chicago to the Fisherman's Pier in California (almost all of Route 66.) Sold it to a collector in San Diego and flew home. My wife and had had that as one of the trips of a life time, 4300 miles in, at the time a 50 year old car.
  14. Okay, I'll post the only odd one in the works right now. I bought this in 1980 ,finally started it when we moved to Virginia. 1972 Fiberfab Avenger / Valkyrie. was meant to be Corvair powered. GM 383 crate engine, ZF 6 speed transaxle with 2:73 gears. 2045 lbs, 420 h.p. Added wider flares and a GT-40 style spoiler and filled in rear air extractor grills. Odd enough?? 15. I've restored quite a few cars and motorcycles over the past 30+ years. Actually made a living at it for a while. Here's our 1941 Chevy Cabriolet. 216 c.i. with aluminum pistons, 1986 GM 2.8 rods to give me insert bearings and the rear was swapped from the factory 4:11 to a 1953 Powerglide 3:55. Hosted on Fotki 1974 454 4 speed El Camino, up dated with a 1977 Nose, and 4 link Ford 9 inch detroit Locker. My 15,000 mile 1977 El Dorado convert in back ground 1 of 70 build by GM in 1977 Hosted on Fotki 1970 Monte Carlo SS 402/ 4 speed 48,000 miles. I actually put this car in Pape Chevrolets show room in 1969. # 17 of the line, with Pontiac chassis, rear and interior. Hosted on Fotki 1951 Victoria, 1952 Merc flathead, 3 speed with O.D. Hosted on Fotki 1955 Bel Aire ex gasser. Pop raced it in D/gas from 1962 until 1969 with 301 and 3 speed. I ran it from 1970 with 427 /4 speed as a street racer. Now powered by a Wayne Headed, Algon injected 302 GMC 6 with Hydro. 16. Using the Polurethane Doge, Ford or GM cab mount isolaters are easier to machine than rubber. They are fuel and oil resistant, Don't degrade with age, and offer the needed "flex" that rubber has. They are also close to the O.D. needed 2 1/4 so little work to cut down to 2 1/8". The I.D. are close to 3/4 so not too much to open up the 1 1/4.". These are some of the Energy Suspension Universal body mount isolaters.
  17. The pair of B models and the L model Sleeper are under $150 for all 3, The first design AC's are under $1000 combined. Guess nobody's really interested in them?
  18. I knew a lot of people by their cars. His Comet looks to be and old B/FX. Nice!! I probably saw his Mustang in the mid 80's Got any pics of it? Foster chassis was good, but I ran a Fuller Chassis because Fuller gave us a cheap deal through Jack Merkel and Bill Thomas.Lots of flex in the Fuller, kind of scary at 225 when it would bounce, but the early Fiberglas Trends bodies would collapse a bit over 170 which was more un nerving losing vision. My Mustang has a Lenco in it,my 55 Chevy has a '57 Olds Hydro or I swap in a Powerglide with a trans brake if I run the 1/8th at the E.C.G.meets. My last run with my Alcohol Funny was in 1974, I stay involved but ran 3 Pro Stock Mopars from 1973 to 1977. A SS/BA Challenger 440/Torque Flite, a SS/B Challenger 440 /4 speed and a SS/E 340 six pack /4 speed Duster. The Funny I had until 2015 when I gave it to Don Garlits, it sat in the corner on the trailer as raced in 1974 until 2014, The 3 Mopars went last year to Mecham Atlantic City Auction. All 3 were under 1500 miles and never titled
  19. Aside from computers for the boost, ignition controller, fuel injection and 4 stage nox control I don't run all the other crap, I do still use my ancient line lock. THe balance of the crap is IMO you don't have the ability to react to the lights and shift than park it. Rails, funnies and Pro "stock" are like NASCAR all the same except for the colors Yawn. At least when I ran a funnycar in the early /mid 70's they were interesting and the fans could relate to them because they looked like cars you saw every day..
  20. Here is the official Delco wire diagram for a one wire alt with gauge, Ground wire from alt to chassis isn't shown My Delco books show 21SI and 22SI are both internal regs. Two wire plug from the top is internal reg, plug from the back is external reg.
  21. Good Show!! I made two good passes at Dominion the sat, using no juice and only 25lbs of boost with zero issues. Wed night will be a full tilt pass, 45lbs of boost and all 4 stages of juice Should just kiss 200. Got the slip but I'll post it in an other thread when my grand son down loads my video.
