Sounds like you've got a fuel issue Have a hunt around on this site, there's loads of info on the MPs, especially for fuel issues. Will give you some ideas on where and what to check.

CH613 EA7 410 using coolant no external leaks
Adkat replied to Magilla's topic in Engine and Transmission
You must be pricing your parts from a mack (Volvo) dealer. Waste of time. I priced PAI Rebuild kit for etech late last year, $4500 and crankshaft for $5k. Depending where you are, there's a few blokes parting out engines, and a few good second hand ones around at reasonable prices, nothing anywhere near $40k -
Recently had an x15 Cummins derate from high nox count due to blockage in urea filter, had to be driven for 30mins loaded to turn active fault inactive, before able to clear it. Not much fun with no power. F your def onto something, any time a component is replaced, learned data reset should be done.

CH613 EA7 410 using coolant no external leaks
Adkat replied to Magilla's topic in Engine and Transmission
Hunt down someone with a pressure tester and check the cooling system for any external leaks, then If it's swallowed 15 litres sumps probably full of water. Best bet is to drain oil and pull filters to see what's in them. Then pull sump off, and pressure test cooling system, watch to see where the water runs from. Will give you a good idea of where to start. -
Paul, I hope you knocked on the door and politely asked if you could take a pic of their truck🤣🤣 Broadbent's out of Beaufort Vic have also grown to an impressive, mostly KW fleet, but do run the odd Mack.

Airbag suspension? Could be ride height valve causing driveline vibration

I've used this with pretty good results with rust in systems. https://costeffective.com.au/product/rmi-25-cooling-system-treatment/ Don't know if you have a similar product over there. Anyway, any news on how Mike's getting on?
-
Spot on Joey, seems like Mike can get this sorted without having to take it to a workshop. No bubbles with belt off sways toward pump cavitation from blockage/ foreign matter in system, as does nothing coming out drain on cooler. Nothing that couldn't be fixed by pulling a few hoses and back flushing. Also some good cooling system cleaners out there worth a look at. Worst case pull the radiator and have it rodded . See how he gets on.

I'd be looking to alter the parameters in the engine ECU, change the trans in it from autoshift to manual, should fix your starter issue if it's not looking for a signal from the trans ecu. I take it was a 3 pedal autoshift, or you've bolted the clutch pedal in? Jake's need speed, clutch and throttle sensors to work usually, as does cruise. The right bloke with the right program would be able to sort this out quick smart for you. See how you get on

$2.30/litre here in Aus on the east coast, makes it a shade over 6 bucks a gallon. Yeah we're getting fed the whole making up for lost profits too, funny how when the barrel price jumps up, the pump price goes up straight away, but always an excuse when they don't want to drop the $$$ off
-
So nothing came out drain but system was full, right? So is the drain plugged with snot from inside the cooling system? Seen systems with enough crud in them to block an inch line, so radiator cores would be definitely blocked. Which would cause the pump to cavitate, creating air bubbles in the system. Wrong mix of coolant/ anti freeze can react with each other, as well as poor quality/ hard water can cause corrosion/ rust in system. Just something to think about.

How much clearance between turbo and column when it's sitting? Have you jacked up gearbox to check the mounts? They can look good, but have seperated the rubber from the steel plates. By memory the LH one is hard to see properly. Good call 67R, worth a look, cab mounts are usually neglected when servicing

‘62 B61T clutch

Start truck and build up air pressure. Shut off engine, release brakes and put in low gear, then start engine and away you go. Not ideal but can get you out of a jam. -
What tools to undo big nut on meritor diff yolk?
Adkat replied to The Nitro's topic in Driveline and Suspension
Yeah 9 times out of 10 it's a replace job, but if the seal ain't leaking, the yoke ain't loose and the unis good , can't see any point throwing money away unnecessarily. -
What tools to undo big nut on meritor diff yolk?
Adkat replied to The Nitro's topic in Driveline and Suspension
I use a Makita 18v 3/4" gun, usually works well, if not, gas axe on the nut to free it up does the job. You can also cut some shims out of an aluminium can to tighten the caps up in the straps if the uni is still in good nick. -
Hey Larry, could you post a pic of your dash, if it's the one I think it is, could be some down here in Aus, might get you out of a jam.

2007 Mack vision CXN613 FRONT Rear End
Adkat replied to Shortdawg67's topic in Driveline and Suspension
Well you've paid them to fill both diffs, if there happened to be lack of lubrication in another section of the diff, then they haven't done what you've paid them for. That's without them leaving the plug out. Hope it's not the same shop you've been using all along mate, seems this trucks already cost a lot of time and money trying to get it right. Wouldn't be giving them a cent. How'd you get on with the low oil pressure? -
Here in Aus, they're still widely used, especially out bush. But if your within earshot of the major cities they are fairly useless. To many steering wheel attendants with big egos and small brains. Mostly vile and unnecessary talk, and if you do need to use it, helpful replies are hard to find.

G'day Moose, What year's your CH? Pre Etech E7 would be Vmac 2 which doesn't list a 3-3 flash code, 2-2 would be coolant temp sensor and 2-4 would be intake air temp sensor Vmac 2 manual https://macktrucks.vg-emedia.com/ProductDetail.aspx?ProductId=6112 Etech and ccrs are Vmac 3,which lists 2-2 as boost air pressure sensor, 2-4 as transmission oil temp sensor, and 3-3 as engine speed/ position sensor Vmac 3 manual https://macktrucks.vg-emedia.com/ProductListing.aspx?keyword=8-211

Thanks DMM, easy to get confused with different terminology. Mackpro, over 1400amps, those starters must've been glowing red hot. Engine to frame earth/ ground on the ones down here in Aus will be on the passenger side👍
-
Most likely bad earth, check/ clean/ tighten connections from block, starter, chassis and isolator if you have one. Make sure you don't have a dud battery in the mix, charge and test them individually. Check armature housing on starter for loose bolts, the 2 long ones that run from back to front of housing, seen lots of these come loose and cause hard starting. See how you get on.
