Here is your answer... Betty Boop made the scene in 1930 and is based off of Clara Bow, the "it' girl. Bettie Page did not become famous until the mid 50s and was only 7 when Betty Boop was around.

Air leaking from the trailer lines could be a bad tractor protection valve. But a leaking TPV should not cause slow brake release. Just a thought.
