  1. There was one at auction last week here in OH....looked good but smoked...final bid was $5200. Also had a nice 730 Diesel Standard that brought $8600. Personally I feel any R, 80, 820, or 830 in PA will be overpriced because they are rare in the east. It would be better to find one in Western US or Canada and pay to have it shipped east. Most of the western tractors have straight sheet metal. Both my Cockshutt 570 Super Wheatland and JD 730D Standard came from western Canada. Check out www.ytmag.com. Martin's in Newville, PA might have something. Good luck!
  2. Saw some doors listed on fleaBay. Might try some salvage yards like Adelman here in Canton, OH (www.adelmans.com).
  3. Out of likes again! But like the links.
  4. Congrats!!
  5. Car cruise? What time? How far away?
  6. Thanks for the pics Mike. Like the overhead view of the "old" tractors. John Deere had the best looking tractors from 1963 to 1972 (first New Generation). Nice Clatterpillar too. It has been a LONG time since I was at the Iowa State Fair. Questions - why do all your pics have a blue tint? I heard of rose colored glasses but blue? Is that your daughter next to the WM LE Mack? What is the story on the Cat D9? Looks like a permanent display.
  7. can't remember but did you check the runout of the tires?
  8. 10W-30 oil is approved in most engines. I doubt the oil is at fault. There is not much difference in viscosity compared to a 15W-40. The only issue could be the oil is shearing out of grade. Does it shutdown when the oil is new (few miles) versus close to an oil change (many miles)? If all your engines us the same oil and only a few shutdown...I would suspect a sensor or another issue but not the oil. Here is the Mack approved oil list... 2013 02 Mack Approved Oil.pdf
  9. Hat - out of likes but I like those buns toasting in the sun!
  10. Black smoke = partially burned Diesel fuel White smoke = unburned Diesel fuel or water Blue smoke = oil
  11. Katie....ever thought about a mad Russian who owns some Macks?!?
  12. Nice Kwopper but I prefer a Mack R...
  13. Get Mike to build an addition to his building and you can rent some space.
  14. That is the point I was trying to make. Thx 2stack!
  15. Nice R. I can feel a phone call coming on!
  16. Nice pics once again. Thanks!
  17. Tomorrow isn't here yet!
  18. Hard to believe. If I remember the dealer form...it asked for the serial number and the GSO. They send it to Mack and your parts book (or CD) is generated and sent to the dealer for pickup. Send a note to Barry and perhaps he can help. From the Mack website: http://www.macktrucks.com/default.aspx?pageid=449 Parts Publications Customized Parts Books (Class 8) (Available for units built from 1976 to present.) Customized Parts Books are produced upon request and provide service parts information for a single vehicle or multiple vehicles built under a single General Sales Order. The hard-cover book is comprised of a chassis record and illustrated service parts lists that reflect the parts used. For Customized Parts Books (Paper), order publication PV512-M14. For Customized Parts Books (DVD), order publication PV776-IMPACT-MACK-DVD Use eMedia to order these items.
  19. Mike, There will always be shows to attend and Watt's show should be just as good or better next year. Your priority now is to take care of yourself!
  20. I thought an o-ring is worn and causing the leak. I agree...replace. Is there a way to determine the manufacturer without "looking" at the valve? Is the Mack part number exclusive to a manufacturer? I am in OH this week and will not be able to put an eye on it until next week. I sent a PM to Barry.
  21. Trucks going the route of automobiles...few options and available only in a package. You can thank the European influence - those people know what you want!
  22. Nice load of Chebbies!
  23. Just a reminder to those planning to attend...BMT group photo at 12N. Meet at the registration table at the entrance gate. If I remember correctly, there were a few members who missed the 2012 photo because they were BSing talking trucks.
  24. I had to order my parts book thru a dealer. The cost several years ago was about $250. You can get either a hard (paper) copy or CD.
  25. When I shutdown I can hear air leaking at the tractor parking valve (yellow knob). If I turn it or quickly push in/pull out it will sometimes stop. Are these rebuildable or just replace? Does it make a difference which brand (Bendix, Haldex, etc.) I use for a replacement? How do I know what brand is installed now? BTW, the part number is 20QE2167. Thanks for any info.
