  1. I agree but that is either going to be or is the requirement. Just reporting the news.
  2. This was discussed several months ago in several trade journals. I will have to look for the article. Not sure when it goes into effect but the bottomline is...to get a CDL you must get it thru a school.
  3. I am leaving for Louisville on Wednesday morning and should be there mid-afternoon. I still plan to only attend on Thursday and Friday (till noon). If anyone wants to meet, send me a note.
  4. I got my CDL the same way as Freightrain - studied manual and rented a truck. But I believe the rules have changed in that you must get your CDL by enrolling at a Driving School. Either way I recommend getting your CDL.
  5. On my "to do" list is polishing my fuel tanks. They are nicked from "road debris" and oxidized. I do not need a mirror finish but would like to remove the oxidation. Don't like acid wash. What do you recommend? I read the previous posts and I am SO CONFUSED! The left tank is the "leaker" and trying to decide how to repair...likely welded band. I will polish the tank after repair while it is still off the truck. Going to MATS Th and F and would like to come home with a good polish. Not really interested in "black boogers".
  6. I would run the engine "one last time" with new oil, filters, fresh Diesel fuel, etc. Note: add a multi-functional fuel additive to the fuel. Then leave the oil in the engine. I agree, fill the coolant system with new correct mixture coolant. Block off any openings (turbo inlet/exhaust, coolant, fuel, etc.). And store in a dry location.
  7. I contacted all the above and some others about moving a pup trailer from AZ. Quotes are in the $3900-$4500 range.
  8. Mike - will say prayers for you and your family (and the doctors treating you). I just found out a friend has inoperable brain cancer. No one said life is fair but hang in there! Keep the faith!! I hope and pray you will be 100% soon and driving around in a Mack truck! See you in Macungie.
  9. I will be there all day Thursday and Friday till noon. It turns into a real zoo on Friday afternoon and I will be gone!
  10. Ron, I agree, there is a resemblence to the MH. There was also a resemblence in the prototype CH model and the Louisville.
  11. Happy Birthday guys! Enjoy your day.
  12. A motorcycle?
  13. Are you talking to me? If so I noted the names and will contact them. Thanks!
  14. I am impressed by the cost ($4250) considering it is an oversize machine. I was quoted $4500 to transport a pup trailer from AZ to PA. Too bad your machine is not going west. Seems most things are coming east. Most transporters are looking for items to haul west. Good luck. Keep us posted on the progress.
  15. Was by the Snake River area last year. The ramp is still there. I vaguely remember Evil's attempt as I was in college but had "other" things on my mind. I will search the internet and see if there are any vids of his attempt.
  16. Finally stopped snowing after 7" of wet stuff. Sun popping out and 34 degrees. Shoveled part of the lane and brushed off the HHR (my Little Red Wagon). Did my good deed for the day...shoveled my elderly neighbor's driveway who lives across the road from the farm house.
  17. Yep, me too but I don't get on the South side very often.
  18. Wow, talk about luck. The Man upstairs was looking after her and had other plans. BTW, I was on a plane to California. My plane departed from Cleveland.
  19. About 4" on the ground this morning and still coming down. Come on spring with warmer temperatures!
  20. What year Road Runner? Would like to know more.
  21. Happy Birthday...have a great day!
  22. EPA put their thumb on glider kits. Get 'em while you can.
  23. Not listed on Chevy or GMC websites. Perhaps it will be a mid-year intro and be a 2014 model. I will try to locate a recent article about GM and Isluzu jointly developing a new mid-size pickup. BTW, the new 2013 Colorado and Canyon are FUGLY. Look like a Honda. Bring back the old S10 and Sonoma.
  24. Calling for 4" - 6" Wednesday in Blair County PA (more to the south). Just in case I did my errands today (40 and sunny) so I can just sit and watch it snow on Wednesday. But I need to get out and see my mother something Wednesday afternoon. Headed west to Canton O-HI-O on Turdsday morning.
  25. 2012 is the last year for the GM Canyon and Colorado. They are working with Isluzu to design a new pickup. BTW, the Canyon and Colorado were designed by Isluzu. Ford nor Dodge make a small pickup anymore. I owned several S10s and loved them. My last "small" pickup was a Dodge Dakota with 4.7 V8 and 5 speed manual transmission....nice truck.
