  1. Industrial engines are typically different than the same engine in an automotive (hot rod) application. The IND engines albeit the same displacement my use a beefed up block and other engine components. They are made to put out power for many hours. Also usually rated at a lower RPM (less HP but more torque). FWIW, the 426 HEMI was originally designed for Daytona and go 501 miles.
  2. Damn nice, that is all I can say...damn nice!
  3. Next time you see Jim, tell him Ken (from Lubrizol) says hello! And we miss him at TMC! I talked to Tom Berg on the phone Tuesday and will see him at TMC in March. Jim and Tom are both good guys!
  4. Thanks everyone for the kind words. It is not so much the money as it is the time. I am splitting my time between the farm in PA and my house (and wife) in OH. My mom is in back in the Nursing Home (which is about 5 miles from the farm) so she is in good hands 24/7 (albeit expensive). This past year I put less than 2 hours on the 4455. Sitting and not being used is hard on a vehicle. Several other tractors have not run/moved in many years. There is enough "stuff" to do without even thinking about working the land. And now with "uninvited guests" scoping the house, barn, and sheds just adds to the situation. My dream of retiring and "playing" on the farm has diminished. I have faith that all this will pass and time will not be a major issue. I made some money on the sale of the 4455 so that is definitely a plus. That gives me some funds to "spend" on other things (keep the funds in circulation). And the added income from the farm rent will offset some expenses (taxes, insurance, etc.). Next on the "for sale" list is the JD HX15 15 foot rotary mower.
  5. I am going to MATS and plan to attend Macungie. Unless something changes. Perhaps I could "fit" it in my little HHR (with all my other crap).
  6. Whomever takes it to AZ might be interested in bringing back a pup trailer?
  7. Because of my mom's declining health and time contraints, I decided to rent the home farm to a local farmer for the next 3-4 years. Since I will not need my newest and largest tractor I decided to sell my 1990 JD 4455 tractor. Today I sold the tractor. The tractor is going to a farmer who will likely take better care of it than I did. I spent several years looking for this original low houred tractor and now it is history. I still have my other "collector" tractors and plan to keep them (at this time).
  8. Hummer is a brick on 4 wheels.
  9. Hmmm, a CAT 3208 powered R.... Was the the 3208 NA or T? When I was a Clatterpillar...had a 3208 overspeed in the test cell. It sounded GOOD at 4000 rpm.
  10. Nice crawler. Do you deliver? It needs a cab for winter snow removal.
  11. You could pickup a load to bring east to help pay for the trip.
  12. CEOs of most companies are OVER PAID!!! No wonder US companies are going broke. And my GM stock (had) is WORTHLESS!
  13. Is the part number 9QT518M? I need a NOS 9QT517M (RH).
  14. I don't want to hear it! You want to bobtail to Phoenix AZ and pick up a pup trailer for me? I will pay you $2000.
  15. When I replaced my thermocouple, the fitting broke. So I had to drill out the fitting and retap the threads.
  16. If it is a 12V system, yes...3 12V Group 31 connected in series (+ to + and - to -) would do fine.
  17. The State boys were out in full force this morning on Route 22 east of Pu-tittsburgh.
  18. Depends on the location of the beard....oops!
  19. I was told by the guy at Rohr's the trucks would sell after the real estate. If you are really interested in the trucks, contact the auctioneer. Likely there is enough small stuff (tools, manuals, etc.) that will take all day to sell. P.S. On a quiet night in Ohio you can hear metal rusting.
  20. Welcome! BTW, what is a FNG?
  21. I buy my blast media from TP Tools in Canfield, OH.
