  1. Welcome to BMT. Some info in this thread... http://www.bigmacktrucks.com/index.php?/topic/29523-insurance-wanted/
  2. Mack was working on a 6 cylinder version of the E9. There is a prototype on display at the museum.
  3. Dang, just when I left to "water a tree"! And she is wearing hose too!!!
  4. How soon I forget. The memory is the first thing to go...I can't remember what is next!
  5. Nice pics of the Hendricksons everyone! Looks like they were one of the first with a "set back" front axle.
  6. Thanks 2stack for some explanation...but why the shorter fenders?
  7. You forgot to have Jo stand in front of the Ford 9000.
  8. David - true words. I previously mentioned that a good friend of mine works at Hagerstown Powetrain and told me they did not have enough money to develop a new engine (prior to V). Hence they "bandaided" the E7 with EGR, etc. Not the most popular and reliable engine. When I worked at Mack in the mid-80s they were on their "last leg" then. I took some pics of new company Superliners in 1986 and everyone kiddingly said, "these will be the last Macks". Glad we were all wrong. Also, the MH was the best COE truck made but it was also the MOST expensive. The MH was not price competitive at the time. Too bad we can't turn back the hands of time and do things differently. Do I like what is happening today to the USA and home grown companies and products?...NO! I just hope the MACK brand and integrity survives. P.S. And I hope they continue to support the legacy iron.
  9. I can't find the dimensions but my MH is just under 12' to top of exhaust. I guestimate the cab roof to be about 132" tall.
  10. Yep, I agree!
  11. I go for the fried pickles....and the view!
  12. But they are likely being "told" what to do by upper management. Then there is David McK...he will keep them on the straight and narrow.
  13. You mean they sell hamburgers?
  14. The Hooters Motorboat team!
  15. Welcome to BMT and congrats on your purchase. Post some pics when you get a chance. We love pics! I prefer OE filters. The coolant filter (if it has one) is usually mounted on the thermostat housing. I doubt it was originally built with a coolant filter but not a bad idea to add one. Engine oil - 15W-40 (my preference is Shell Rotella T) but any major brand with API CJ-4 will work. Allison recommends their branded fluid. Rear axle fluid - full synthetic (75W-90?).
  16. Hooter girls...I'd recognize those butts and legs anywhere!
  17. Nice truck and GF. Good work JB! A pretty girl in skimpy outfit reclining on the hood of a Mack truck would be better.
  18. Nice looking B, like the green. Agree about the $$$$.
  19. Randy - you should appreciate tracks!
  20. Preference is Garmin. But I tell others...sometimes you have to use the PNS and know where you are going. Otherwise the "bitch in the box" will get you lost. Oh and I hate "recalculating"!
  21. Nice looking trucks. Dumb question (to the novice truck identifier)...Why the difference in the front fenders? Both trucks look the same for front axle placement and hood/radiator. But the top truck has short fenders and the bottom long fenders. Reason? Thanks for the edumencation!
  22. Yep, that be it! I will if I ever get it running again. Pony engine carb being rebuilt (a second time). On my long list of "stuff I need to do but too lazy to do".
  23. Leslie...nice vids. My JD 730 tractor has a 4cyl. pony starting engine. Start the pony engine, pull decompession lever, engage pony to main engine, let it build oil pressure, close decompession lever, let the main engine turn over a few times, give the main engine fuel, and off you go. Sounds similar to the vids except...PUTT PUTT PUTT...
