  1. I think I heard that one before. I would definitely stop and pick her up with my MH!
  2. Loverly! specially the MH shot.
  3. Mark - thanks for the advise. Did you get the bushings from Mack? Other areas of linkage wear? My MH has about 800K miles (EM7-300 and T2050).
  4. I have seen several CAT trucks in central PA. A fleet of CAT yellow dump trucks run Route 22. I see them around Ebensburg. My guess is they are coal buckets. They are always going the opposite direction and the name on the door is too small to read. Smith Transport (my home town of Roaring Spring) has about 10 day cab semis. They were originally painted CAT yellow but repainted in Smith's black. Smith is mostly Fruitliner (DD engines) with some Petes (Cummins engines).
  5. Occasionally I try to shift my MH without a clutch. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't. To me the linkage is the issue. Anyone have thoughts/suggestions?
  6. There you go Vinny....U2! Go for it!
  7. Vlad - you are correct. The only way you know if it was good or bad is at the end of the day. Either way you try again tomorrow.
  8. Contact the Mack museum and they may provide prints so you can have them fabricated. As always, a donation to the Museum would be appreciated. Good luck! Another option is to contact Barry at Watts Truck Center. BTW, welcome to BMT!
  9. I thought you may have missed posting a pic. Thanks! But you really should have stopped and offered assistance. She was in a very dangerous situation. You are starting to give truck drivers a bad image!
  10. Nice pics and thanks for documenting your travels! Disappointed there were no hitchhiker or seat cover shots.
  11. some days you win break even and some days you are better to just stay in bed!
  12. This was 47 years ago. April 3, 1965. An amazing prediction. Do you remember the famous ABC radio commentator Paul Harvey? Millions of Americans listened to his programs which were broadcast over 1,200 radio stations nationwide. When you listen to this, remember the commentary was broadcast 47 years ago on April 3, 1965. It's short...less than three minutes. http://stg.do/9LDc Hear anything familiar??????
  13. Who's up for a road trip? No snakes this time of year (I hope).
  14. Young Men's Christian Association - intended to provide cheap temporary accommodations and resources in urban areas to young boys I stayed at the YMCA in Waterloo, IA many many years ago...I slept with one eye open!
  15. Nice truck but too much for my wallet.
  16. Nice find and save. Great pics. Glad you made it in and out of PA without any issues.
  17. Your reply dated 14 September" "Umodelnut you didn't ask me anything and that's why I never replied." I went back to your first post on 07 September and here are some questions that were never answered... farmer52 - Posted 07 September 2012 - 08:09 PM Any MH parts? Umodelnut - Posted 08 September 2012 - 11:26 AM Yes pictures would be nice. Do you have any U models? I know a couple years ago you had like three U models on TruckPaper. I am not trying to create hard feelings but if you are going to post something as important as "parts for sale" you should check-in more often.
  18. Happy Birthday....eat a "piece" for me.
  19. I just purchased a Salesman's Price Book dated January 1985 from fleaBay. It is over one inch thick. I copied the "standard specifcation" base prices for all the models. The trucks were more expensive than I remember. Enjoy! 1985 Mack truck prices.PDF
  20. A good friend of mine knows the owner of Grand Rock. I started conversations with GR in January 2012. I was told to send the Mack prints and they could make the pipes. After review of the prints I was told to drop off the pipes because the "long pipe" (the one that goes under the cab to the muffler) print did not have enough information to bend the pipe. I dropped the assembly (turbo to muffler) off at GR the end of March. I told GR I needed the pipes by mid-May so I could get ready for Macungie). No problem is what I was told. FINALLY at the end of May I was contacted (after many calls to GR) the 2 pipes were complete. However they could not make the long pipe in one piece. They made the pipe in three (3) sections. I was told to bolt the pipe on the truck and mark the sections. Then send the pipes back to GR and they would weld the sections. Needless to say after 2+ months of dicking around with GR I cancelled the order. Oh by the way they trashed my old pipes soon after I dropped them off so they could not fit the long pipe themselves. So I ordered replacement pipes from Mack and had them and a new muffler (Donaldson $80) ceramic coated. It ended up costing me more than GR but the time to get parts from Mack, coating, and installation was less than 3 weeks. I told my friend (who passed on the word to GR) I was UNHAPPY with GR and would not refer or contact them in the future. Their response was "we dropped the ball". Like I posted earlier...I am glad you all had good response from GR. Perhaps it was a "mistake" having a "connection at the factory".
  21. Glad you had good luck with Grand Rock. I provided Mack blueprints and the old pipe from my MH. After 2+ months I never had any hardware.
  22. Nice video and thanks for posting!!!! It seemed longer than 13 minutes to get on the track. How can I download a copy? Thanks again Ron!
  23. Just a young pup....Happy Birthday and enjoy!
