  1. I do live near Altoona. I will be driving to the Lancaster area on Thursday. Plan to make a few stops in Lancaster to see some friends and eat a LOT of good Dutch food. I am also trying to find a sexy lady to pose in front of my MH (an Overdrive Datemaster cover photo - see below). Maybe Barry can use it for the 2013 calendar. Eventually I will make my way to Gerhart's on Friday afternoon. Perhaps I should go easy on the Dutch food because I may not be able to climb up and into the cab. REMEMBER - Watts' tent Saturday at 12 noon for BMT group mug shot!
  2. I was thinking about leversole this week - haven't seen any postings from you recently. Glad to hear you are doing okay and I will see you in Lititz.
  3. Rode many a grey dog Scenicruiser in my younger days - between Tulsa, OK and Breezywood, PA. My favorite bus!
  4. I prefer not to discuss politics and religion...but the problem with our country is there are too many people who are looking for a "handout" and will vote for Obummer because he will give them more handouts. In my opinion if you do not have a job (not paying income tax), in jail, not a property owner, on welfare, illegal, and the list goes on...you do NOT get to VOTE!!! Don't get me wrong, there are others in DC (both parties) that should be "shown the door". I think there should be term limits for elected officials and they get the same benefits and SS as the common folks. My mother worked all her life and is currently in a nursing home. In order for her to get assistance, she has to sign over everything to the home. When a few doors down, there may be a person who has NEVER worked and gets assistance. NOT FAIR! I will get off my soap box now! P.S. I am not a Madonna fan but I would like to see her naked. Hooters are like pizza...some are better than others!
  5. I am staying at the Rodeway Inn; Akron, PA. An old time motel but was clean when I stayed there last year. I will be having breakfast at the Lititz Family Cupboard Restaurant on the north side of Lititz (12 West Newport Road) at 6:30a.
  6. My 1992 MH has a GCVW of 55K lbs. It weighs ~14K lbs. empty. I licensed it at 26K lbs. to avoid potential DOT "crap". I do have a Class A CDL and medical card. In Ohio, the vehicle must be 25 years old (i.e. 1987 or older) to be licensed as a HISTORICAL vehicle. The rule states it can only be driven to shows, etc. Farm plates in OH limit your driving within a 150 mile driving radius. If you do not plan to haul commercially with your truck, here is an "exemption" I found in the regs - FMCSA 390.3(f)(3) which states (f) Exceptions. Unless otherwise specifically provided, the rules in this subchapter do not apply to— (3) The occasional transportation of personal property by individuals not for compensation nor in the furtherance of a commercial enterprise as others have stated...NOT FOR HIRE I have this information on the side of my truck to hopefully avoid any BS if I get stopped.
  7. OMG!!! This could be grounds for a "warning" point!
  8. Blue smoke is oil. Could be a stuck ring, bad turbo seal, or valve guide/seal. The fuel injection pump is oil lubricated.
  9. If the engine idles the majority of the time you might be okay not using a lead substitute. With that said...I would recommend using a lead substitute in gasoline since not all older engines have hardened valve seats. Today's gasoline is CRAP. The shelf life is several weeks to a few months. The cost (pennies per gallon) to treat the fuel with stablizer and lead substitute is minimal compared to problems that could arise from poor quality fuel. I put stablizer in all my gasoline (don't have any old engines or would use lead sub too) and even use a performance additive in all my Diesel fuel. Better to be safe than sorry. BTW, I am a retired Field Test engineer who worked for a major lubricant and fuel additive company - FWIW.
  10. It looks like they are both leaning toward the driver's side.
  11. Vin - Tom was afraid to open the door for fear of the truck rolling over on top of him. Vin - you know we are just kidding about U (well some of us are). It is great to see such enthusiam from a youngin'
  12. Soak it "incider" to reduce the swelling!
  13. Vinny will "wet" his pants when he sees the U trucks.
  14. If it smells like cologne...leave it alone!
  15. Do you think she is 100% authentic? Or are parts "reproduced"?
  16. Wow, I am in love! Mini skirt, boots, and HOSE! The car isn't bad either! Charger was not high on my list (Road Runner, Super Bee, R/T, GTX, Cuda, and Challenger preferred).
  17. Everyone is younger than me. I am older than dirt!
  18. Great video and GREAT SOUND. Nothing like the sound of a 2 stroke. BTW, I saw the young lady in cutoffs and boots....missed the hat!
  19. X2 - she didn't age well (or the money for reconstructive surgery ran out).
  20. Yes, definitely take a test drive ride before you decide. Make sure everything works! But I have to agree with others.....keep the truck!
  21. Damn kids!!!
  22. Too bad the new mid duty Mack uses a Cummins engine!
  23. Welcome Corky....it doesn't get any better than this! My first Mack was a 1962 H67 with duplex.
