  1. Barry, How about getting some trucks/photos at Gerhart's? Or will that be too late? Maybe Dave can help set-up some locations.
  2. The "seat of the pants" ride is not too bad considering the air ride seat and cab suspension. But the back axle jumps around when going over rough pavement. Plus you either hang on tight to the shift lever or keep your hand away as it can be spastic. If you have something in the cup holder it bounces out. I talked to a guy at Macungie with an air ride single axle MH and he said it is smooth. When I go to Gerhart's I am going to run the rear tire pressure on the low side (85-90 psi) and see if it makes a difference.
  3. considering they are artificial, they will probably look the same in 15 years. if they do sag, just add a few pounds of air pressure and they will perk up.
  4. I located a Hendrickson air ride suspenion that is on a 2003 Sterling. Does anyone know if my Mack rear axle will bolt-up to this suspension? What if any parts do I need to make it fit the axle? What questions should I be asking the seller about the suspension? TIA
  5. Why do we put up with this crap!!
  6. Nice pics of the MH (and Hahn). Are you bringing the MH to Gerhart's?
  7. Try this link for the F operator's manual (revised 9/79), This is a downloadable PDF. http://smrp-prod.mac...dform/ts446.pdf See page 14 for Cab Tilt Operation
  8. If I remember correctly, my H had a release lever inside the RH storage compartment under the sleeper. Perhaps the F used the same mechanism.
  9. Rob, Actually I am a few miles closer than Larry but starting Saturday (17th) I will be out of town on business until the 28th.
  10. Thanks everyone for your interest. You can always send your money to me! I am willing to head up this endeavor. I sent another note to the seller to contact me. Until the seller makes contact and he states the selling price there is not much we can do at this time. In the mean time I will talk to the Mack Museum and get their input. Does anyone know the seller?
  11. I sent notes to the Mack Museum (Don S) and also the owner. I have not heard anything from either one. I will try contacting the owner again to get his contact information and a selling price.
  12. Amen to everything that has been said. I was flying to California on September 11, 2001 but thank God I was on the "right" plane. We detoured to Kansas City. The pilot never said a word about the attacks but said "the FAA told him to land". I never saw so many planes in one place, wall-to-wall aircraft. It was in the airport terminal that I learned what happened. Most rental companies were not renting cars but I found one whose manager said "we will do whatever it takes to get people back home." I have never been to NYC but I am sure it is "not the same without the towers". NEVER FORGET! GOD BLESS AMERICA!!
  13. Saw Larry's truck today at the local car show. He did an excellent job extending the frame and installing the air ride and sleeper. The cab/sleeper pass-thru looks great. He should be very proud of his work! Lookin' good!!! You can work on my truck anytime.
  14. The show in Hagerstown is connected to the anniversary celebration. But an annual show at Hagerstown would be great but when? Macungie is in June, Watt's is in August, and Gerhart's is in October. Perhaps a spring show in early May would be a good time. I also thought about an annual event at the Mack Museum. I will talk to my friends at Mack and suggest these events. Doug - maybe you can make some suggestions too.
  15. I am staying at the Rodeway Inn in Akron. Anyone else staying there?
  16. I am contacting the owner and also the Mack Museum to see how we can make this work. Thanks everyone for your interest. Stay tuned.
  17. Hey Joe and welcome to the site. Glad you changed your mind. Perhaps we can get a group of interested people together to "save the MH613". I am open to suggestions how to accomplish this task. I know the Mack Museum would be happy to have this truck.
  18. Welcome to the group!
  19. Use the gray bottle (Diesel Kleen + Cetane) during non-winter months (March - November) and the white bottle (DF Supplement + Cetane) during the winter months (December - February). Or use white bottle year round if you do not want to switch for seasons. I use Stanadyne Performance Formula (similar to white bottle) year round.
  20. If Barry brings some of those "special" hood ornaments I am sure we will all be there early!
  21. My wife works for KAG. They have been on a buying spree the last couple years. I hope they know what they are doing.
  22. Nice toy Greg! When are you putting a bulldog hood ornament on the cart? Maybe one of those 2 legged ones?
  23. Are we all planning to meet at Barry's tent at "high noon" on Saturday for a group mug shot?
  24. What is more amazing - there are people who actually watch this stuff (Trick My Whatever, Dancing with the Stars, You Could be a Star, and other such crap). I have better things to do with my time, even if it is doing nothing. The only TV I watch is the Weather Channel and even that has gone down hill. Just give me the freekin' weather!
  25. When and where were these trucks built? Did they use Mack components (engine, transmission, and axles)?
